Change Your Attitude For Immense Benefit
Attitude is the way you respond to life each day. It is the way you define and interpret your experiences. Your attitude is the sum total of your beliefs. Assumptions, expectation, and values. It determines the meaning or significance you attach to events and your response to them.
Because of right attitude some people are successful. They have gone through hardships and yet their positive expectations keep retuning to them.
Attitudes is the way we look at the world through our expectations and beliefs. We process thousands of thoughts in a day. According to author Robert Cooper, research suggests every one of our thoughts affect each of our cells. That is why attitude affects productivity.
When our expectations are positive , we are helpful and generous towards others and exercise better judgment in problems solving decision making and creative skills . when our expectation are negative we have less ability to solve problems because we feel insecure and emotionally delicate .
Through the seasons, nature presents us with an infinite variety of attitudes from gloomy mist to glorious sunshine. Our own moods , whether gloomy or bright, always reflect the way we deal with others. By our walk, the way you carry our head and shoulders, and the expressions on your face, your stimulate specific emotional response in others.
Attitude also determines what you “see” and what you ‘hear’. It is like a glass shield around you through which everything must pass, before it reaches you. It, therefore, colours your perception.
How do you develop attitude? Early in life, we imitate the attitude of our parents, teachers, friends and leaders. When we enter adolescences, we absorb the attitude of those we admire or respect.
Later in life , we respond on the basis of our personal values, desires and beliefs.
Fortunately, we never carve our attitude on stone- we can mould and change them almost every day.
How do we develop the attitude we need.
Choose the attitude you want to develop.
Se your goal, Consider where you are, and where you want to be
Write down why you want to change your attitude and steps taken for doing so, including failures and successes.
Visualising . This involves choosing quiet time to relax during which you can imagine demonstration your new attitude.
Self-talking . it is essential for success that one admires oneself from time to time. Doing so it one of the very effective ways of maintaining one’s attitude.
Affirmations can also help to keep your mind on track by not giving room for discouraging negative thoughts.
Amzanig
The pweor of the human mind. Aoccdrnig to rscheearch condnutced at Camabrigde uniervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in what order the ltteers in a word are tpeyed, the only imprmoatnt thing is that the frist and last ltteer be in the rghit oedrer. Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
Discrimination
“The good is one thing, the pleasant another; these two, having different objects, chain a man. It is well with him who clings to the good; he who chooses the pleasant, misses his end. “
“The good and the pleasant approach man; the wise goes round about them and distinguishes them. Yea, the wise prefers the good to the pleasant, but the food chooses the pleasant through greed and avarice. “
“Thou, O nachiketas, after pondering all pleasures that are or seem delightful, hast dismissed them all. Thou hast not gone into the road that leadeth to wealth, in which many men sink.”
“Wide apart and leading to different points are these two- ignorance, and what is known as wisdom. I believe Nachiketas to be one who desire knowledge, for even many pleasures did not tear thee away “
“He (the Self) of whom many are not even able to hear, whom many even when they hear of Him do not comprehend; wonderful is a man, when found, who is able to teach Him (the Self); wonderful is he who comprehends Him, when taught be an able teacher ( man of realization).- Katha Upanishad

With Faith you will overcome all Impediments and Obstructions.
A husband and wife were travelling in a ship. Suddenly a storm struck, and huge waves began to dash against the ship everyone was frightened that it would be engulfed by the ocean. The wife looked at there husband, who happened to be a great devotee of God, and saw that he was not frightened at all. She said, “Are you not afraid?” Being a soldier, he drew his sword and placed it near her throat and asked, “Are you scared?” She replied, “Why should I be afraid of you? I know that you would not hurt me”. “Well then”, he continued, “;Why should not you feel the same way about God?”
If you love God, then why should you be afraid if He has figuratively placed a sword at your throat? Why should you become upset and lose your patience and balance of mind? The message is that if yo have developed the feeling that God is the source of infinite love and that He is your very life. Your mother and father, then you have nothing to fear, whatever situation arises in your life. With faith, you will over come all problems and obstructions. (Courtesy International Yoga Guide.)

Sitting Still Makes No Person Great
Except for hatching eggs nothing is done by sitting still. But that is a bird’s job. As for human beings they will not succeed in anything by just sitting down.
Sitting still and wishing makes no person great. So rise up and put your shoulder to the wheel. Read the live of great man. Watch people who are successful around you. There is no easy way up. The victory to the top of the high mountain awaits people who reach it through hardship. A man cannot get food for his table or shelter for his family, or knowledge and skill in the exercise of his talents by merely wishing for them. The only food that life give him is the one which he has produced through his efforts. Actions of men are the best interpretation of their thoughts.
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
Then if the subject of thought is miserable, we must be merciful toward it. When we see anybody suffer, we must try to remove his misery with a feeling of love and sympathy. This we must do with unselfishness and non-attachment toward the fruits of our actions. Whether the one whom we help is grateful or otherwise matters not. Whenever we have the opportunity of helping any one, we must bear in mind that it is for our good, for our own salvation. It is a privilege to serve God in the form of the miserable and thus build our characters and manifest Divinity.

Be Spiritually Immune
If you could untie your wings and free your soul of jealousy and hatred, you and everyone around you would fly up like doves.
All created beings on the Earth are blessed with an inbuilt immune system that protects one from so many infections. We strengthen it with good eating and clean living habits. Then what do we do to immune our spirit from all evil influences and stay free of negativity?
Where do we get this negativity from? Of course , from the external world or the world we live in . How would one evade such negative tendencies within? One can achieve a calm and quiet mind by driving away jealousy, doubt and unnecessary desires.
We can also immune ourselves by not reliving the past unpleasant happenings, by forgiving the persons that caused them. One must remember only the lesion such events forced one to learn; by doing so, one can never be contemptuous or arrogant.
The adult folks must harness the innocence of the youngsters who absorb divine vibrations easily. We must teach our young when they are still in their prime all things righteous and also evolve for ourselves an exemplary living style. When we train our children by setting good examples, the process of cultivating spiritual immunity begins. This helps them in keeping their mind clean, refines their intuitive powers and protects them like a fortress from everything negative . It draws the best things to them, it forties and rein forces us well as the youngsters with emotional and mental stability and builds up self-confidence. It makes one feel secure and in control. Spiritual immunity thus fosters innate powers and thereby making the youth powerful and upright.
If you want peace. Work for justice
It is difficult , but essential to form a genuine idea of peace. It is especially difficult if one ignores his intuition that tells him that peace is something very human. If we look for the true source of peace we find that it is rooted in genuine respect for man. Peace that is not rooted in true respect for man is not true peace . and true respect for man we call justice. If you want peace, work for justice.
Stress is behind many diseases
Two psychologists at Yale University have concluded that many common affliction are , to a large extent, caused by stress. They believe that chronic stress is partially responsible for the development of asthma, diabetes, ulcers, ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel dieses, atherosclerosis, heart attack, cancers, and the common cold . the researchers point out that the disease often breaks out after a period of heavy stress. Thus it is common for colds and others infection to breaks out on a weekend or a vacation taken after a prolonged period of high work intensity. The psychologists believe that physicians should assist their patients in acquiring the necessary skills such as exercising and relaxing.
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
The value of concentration is unquestionable . It helps every one in every stage of life. But the greatest man is he who can concentrate his mind of the Supreme Reality, for “we become exactly what we think” Intense thought forms our external and internal nature. This we can often see in the case of devoted husband and wife; they become like each other in their manners, nay, even in their appearance. This fact is very obviously shown in the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, who by constantly concentrating his mind on Jesus the Christ grew to be like Christ. It is even said his eternal figure became transformed and showed the marks of the stigmata. Such is the power of concentration that it can change the whole nature of a man. By concentrating our mind on a pure, holy being we become holy being we become holy. Similarly, when we turn our thoughts to material objects, we become materialistic.

Challenges Mould Character
We are all for making life as simple and as easy as possible. We do –not want to face problems. We dislike every circumstance that casts a shadow of disappointment, pain, etc. But the fact is that life is not like that for anyone. It is also true that some people have great number of misfortunes and some, a little less. The secret of dealing successfully with life’s difficulties is the recognition that they are there to be dealt with, not to be evaded.
Life is a challenge. Challenge and difficulty are much more potent forces in moulding fine character than are ease and luxury. They are challenges to one’s power of concentration, will power and courage. They give an opportunity to show the stuff one is made of and they further strengthen the strong. Positive facets of one’s character.
Over a period, we begin to establish a new and helpful habit-pattern of confident and optimistic thinking. The optimistic way of thinking is in itself a powerful attribute in facing life’s challenges, in all its spheres. It makes us more capable of dealing with them. Our resources of morale, and sense of understanding are also enhanced for a successful living.
Thus difficulties and challenges may be regarded as circumstances that give us the opportunity for replacing weak habits by strong ones. Attitude of doubt by determination, thereby strengthening our character.
Success
No success ever comes on its own. Behind every success there are untold stories of trials, failures, losses, humiliation and miseries.
Gold Mine Within You!
A beggar had been sitting by the side of a road for over thirty years. One day a stranger walked by “Spare” some money? ”mumbled the beggar mechanically holding out his old cap.
“I have nothing to give you”. Said the stranger. Then he asked; “What is that you are sitting on?”
“Nothing , “ replied the beggar. “Just an old box. I have been sitting on it for several years”.
“Ever looked inside?” asked the stranger.
“No”, said the beggar. “What is the point? There is nothing inside”.
“Have a look inside”, insisted the stranger . The beggar managed to open the lid With astonishment, disbelief, and elation , he saw that the box was full of gold coins.
Guru says, “ I am that stranger who has nothing to give you and who is telling you to look inside. Not inside any box, as in the parable, but somewhere eve closer; inside yourself.”
Those who have not found their true wealth , which is the radiant joy and unshakable peace that comes with it, are beggars, even if they have great material wealth. They are looking outside for scraps of pleasure for security, or love , while they have a gold mine within that not only includes all those things but is infinitely grater then anything the world can offer. What most interferes with our own seeing the good qualities in others are our own shortcomings.
Every one wishes to have truth on his side but it is not everyone that sincerely wished to be on the side of truth.
The best we can.
To do at each moment the best we can and leave the result to the Divine’s decision is the surest way to peace , happiness, strengths progress and final perfection.
If trust the first requisite for making a friend, faithfulness is the rist requisite for keeping him.
Greatness comes only to those who seek not how to avoid obstacles but to overcome them.
Regular Periods of Solitude
To do much clear thinking a man must arrange for regular periods of solitudes when he can concentrate and indulge in the imagination without destruction.
Quote from Bhagavad-Gita
The Gita is not a book for study and examination as a text-book It is a book that tells men how-to regulate their activities and their minds. It is like a travel guide. It is a guide-book for the journey of lives. We should travel with its help. Not commit it to memory. Merely committing it to memory will not enable us to reach the journey’s end.

I cannot accept the money
Vidyasagar of Bengal was well-known for his charity to the needy. One evening when he was passing by a house, he overheard a conversation. A money-lender was harshly pressing for the payment of the hundred rupees that, he claimed, Ram, the dead husband of the poor lady, owned him. The lady replied through her young son that though her husband did not tell her about he debt, she would any how repay it after the period of mourning.
Vidyasagar went to that house the next morning. The young boy informed that his father had died a few days back. Vidysagar felt very sad and asked the boy to call his mother. He told the lady that he was a friend of Ram and that when he was in a great difficulty, he had taken a loan of hundred rupees form him (Ram). Ram had told Vidyasagar at that time that he borrowed the amount form a money lender. So he had come to pay back the amount . The lady replied through her son; Before his death he did not tell me about this. I cannot accept the money’ Vidyasager could not believe his ears. For a long while he unsuccessfully tired to persuade the lady to accept the amount. Even telling a lie he could not succeed. Vidyasager left in great surprise . (Courtesy; “The Vedanta Kesri)

Emulate sterling qualities..
The world always gives praise to men of sterling qualities . Many of the greatest men have performed common and ordinary duties with the same thoroughness demanded by great tasks. The seemingly commonplace duties of daily life have an important part in developing the industry. Perseverance and courage essential in major affairs . To become a leader and an authority in any field of activity, you must first practice yourself to the daily routine of seemingly insignificant things. Make the best of what you have and greater things will follow.

Quote from Bhagavad-Gita
The Gita describes another characteristic of the illumined person;” free from passion, fear and anger.” Suppose I am making a special and earnest effort to get a certain thing. Now someone or something comes a hindrance or an obstacle in the way. The feeling that is then generated in the mind is called anger (krodha). The excessive desire to possess anything is called passion (raga) or lust (kama). One who is without lust and anger has no attachment to anything . No matter what work we do, if we do it without attachment, it will take us to the knowledge of the One. We shall see clearly that, like meditation, our daily common activities can also lead us to the knowledge of the One, which is the goal of the yogis, for this reason we should keep attachment out of our lives; everything must be done with a higher purpose in mind and we should remain calm. No work of an illumined person is done under the sway of passion and anger, which are the products of selfishness. Thus in order to attain knowledge we have to keep our senses under control, give up all selfish prayers and desires, and remain steadily focused on the ideal , unmoved by joy and sorrow.
Then extolling knowledge, Sri Krishna says;
O Partha this is the meaning of firmly having one’s being in Brahman. Once this state is reached, no more can sorrow and delusion trouble the person. Even if this experience comes at the moment of death, that person transcends death and realizes his or her immortal nature.

One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. Four Kinds of Silence

Monday 15–August- 2011
Four Kinds of Silence
Silence is of four kinds; Silence of speech, Silence of the eye, Silence of the ear, and silence of the mind. Only the last is pure silence and is the most important. The commentary of silence is the best commentary as illustrated in Lord Dhakshinamurti. Only silence is the Eternal Speech, the One Word, the Heart-to-Heart talk.
Silence is like the even flow of electric current. Speech is like obstruction the current for lighting and other purposes. However much a jnani might talk, he is still the silent one. However much he might work, he is still the Quiet one. His voice is the incorporeal, voice. His walk is not on the earth. It is like measuring the sky with the sky.
Man and Money
Money is essential for all. It is a must for existence. One has to toil and labour to get it.
Man without money is like a flower without honey. While there is value for money , one has to stick to certain principles in dealing with money matters . Of course life becomes miserable without money and one cannot lead a comfortable life without sufficient money. But one should not live only to earn money. One should not give too much importance for money in one’s life . one has to set some principles an guidelines to be followed in one’s life.
As per Swami Chinmayananada, “We live in a wonderful universe in which everyone and everything give. The trees give, the rivers give, the earth gives, the Sun, the Moon, the stars give. Why then must we be anxious only to take to amass, to gather and to hoard?”
Money makes many things. Money can save a man. Money can kill a man. Is money responsible for either? No. it is the man! Money cannot be the goal of our live; never. Money teaches man great lessons, but silently. When money is gained, he learns something. When money is lost he learns something. When money is present he learns something. When money is donated, he learns something. What he learns is more valuable than money itself.
What is money? As per Shri Swami Prushottamananda of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, money has different meanings for different people:
There are men who are studious and industrious, for them time is money. There are men who are civilized and cultured; for them self-respect is money. There are men who are courageous and adventurous, for them self-confidence is money. There are spiritual aspirations and discipline is money. There are men who are selfish and sensual; for them money alone is money!”
Money can bring prosperity money can bring adversity. Money is neither good nor bad. Its goodness and badness lies in how one uses it.
“Some are corrupt with regard to money. Some are corrupt with regard to women. Some are corrupt with regard to power. Corruption does not lie in money , women or power. It is in the mind. Educate the mind and eradicate corruption” said Swami Purushottmananda.
One must not be proud of one’s money. if you say that you are right, then one can remind you that there are richer man than you and others ranchers still and so on.
If a person hoards more money, he will get into a number of problems. If a person develops lust for earning more money , he loses his peace of mind, he will not get sleep, he will forget all human values. It is like drinking salt water. The more you drink the more you feel thirst to drink.
A person who has a lust for money does not care for any moral and ethical values. He is ready to do anything and everything for money. Is there any value and meaning for such life? What is the difference between man and animal. God has given thinking capacity to human being to differentiate what is good and what is a bad. If he unable to distinguish between these two he is worse than the animal.
Wise Man fills Himself with Good
Think not lightly of good saying. “It will not come to me. “Drop by drop is the water pot filled, Like wise, the wise man. Gathering it little by little , fills himself with good- Dharmapada.
Laugh
“How did you get that black eye, Mrs. Shobha?”
“Well sir , my husband came out of prison on his birthday”
An I wished him many happy returns”
Putting the watches to the ears
Two priests, known for their longwinded sermons, were having a chat. One said. “ It looks very bad when people start looking at their watches in the midst of the sermon. “the other said, “That is tolerable ; worse is when the listeners start putting their watches to the ear to check whether the watches have not stopped.”
The Universe
True universe, both inner and outer, has been the subject of modern science and philosophy , Chemistry, physics, zoology, botany , geology and astronomy treat more or less of the outer universe, Chemistry wants to find out the elements whose innumerable combinations have brought into existence the countless objects that makeup the universe , while physics tries find those law’s that regulate it. Zoology treats of the animal kingdom, while botany deals with the vegetable kingdom. Geology tires to find out the inner formation and nature of our earth, whereas astronomy , in right earnest, seeks to know all about the heavenly bodies. Their relative distances, the period of their revolving motions and so on. In fact it want to know all about the universe. Physiology enters inside our physical self. There it finds how foodstuff is transformed into blood, how the latter is made to circulate al over the body by the contraction and expansion of the heart, how in the course of its circulation it meets the wants and excretes the waste of all the tissues and organs of our body. Psychology in turn treats of our finer self, the mind, And philosophy finally dives still deeper and wants to know something about our souls and their relation to the universe.
So science is struggling hard to unravel the mystery of creation; let us see with what success. It has proved beyond all doubts the indestructibility of matter. It has analyses the human mind and believes in the unexpended immaterial nature of our souls. As regards a creator, it is either skeptic or agnostic. So far as this aspect of its researches is concerned, the result is not at all satisfactory. But in course of time it may be expected to define more clearly its ideas respecting mind, soul and God.
Gems of Thought
The greatest test of courage on the earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.
To make no mistakes is not in the power of many . but from their errors and mistakes the wise and good learn the wisdom for the future.
The time for extracting a lesson from history is ever at hand for them, who are wise.
He has not learned the lesson of the life who does not everyday surmount a fear.
Friendship is forgetting what one gives, remembering what one receives.
Unknown steadfast citizen
Surely the hero whose name is splashed in headlines for some singular spectacular deed of velour is no more a patriot than the unknown, steadfast citizen who year after year quietly and unselfishly benefits his nation.
Quote from the Essence of The Gita
You have been mourning for those who should not be mourned for. Yet you speak words of wisdom!
“You speak like a scholar or like someone who has attained supreme knowledge but you are mourning over your kith and kin. A truly wise person does not mourn even when the body-one’s own or someone else’s is being destroyed. Your words and actions are not in harmony. “ Sri, Ramakrishna also used to tell us, “Make your thoughts and speech one”. Who can stop our progress once our thoughts and speech become identical? Such is the power of this single practice that whatever we need will come of itself.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. He asked. The Perfectionist Syndrome.

Monday-June 13-2011
The Perfectionist Syndrome.
Dr. David Burns, behavioral Therapist at the Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania Medical center save that it is better to aim at success, but not perfection. Compulsive perfectionism may actually lower performance and get in the way of success. As a psychiatrist, he feels this self –defeating habit will have its impact of one’s emotional health too. He conducted a test study of a group of over 150 persons. He found that over 40 percent of them were perfectionists. Predictably, this group felt under greater stress than their non perfectionist peers. They experienced much more anxiety and depression in their lives, there was not one shred of evidence that they were earning any more money . they weren’t even more successful. Moreover, the discouragement and pressure that so often plague perfectionist’s can even lead to decrease in creativity and productivity.
What do we mean by perfectionism? When we raise such about the healthy pursuit of excellence by person who take pleasure in meeting high standers. Then who are perfectionists? Perfectionists are people who strain compulsively towards impossible goals and measure their self-worth entirely in terms of their achievements. As a result , they are terrified by the prospect of failure. They feel driven, and , at the same time, unrewarded by their accomplishments. The very feeling “without my perfectionism, I ‘d be just a mediocre person. Ugh! who wants to be average?’ is quite self-defeating, subjecting a person who aims at peak perfection to emotional turmoil and impaired productivity. The other feelings that torment him/her are “ I will never made so many errors ! I mustn’t do that again!”.
How to get Over Perfectionist Syndrome.
If you are a compulsive perfectionist, you are undoubtedly good at focusing on all the ways you fall short. You spend your life cataloguing every mistake and shortcoming. Here is a simple method that may help you reverse this painful tendency.
List the things you do right each day. This may sound unsophisticated and couldn’t help you in any way. Try this of two weeks. You’ll begin to focus on the pluses in your life and will consequently feel better.
Another helful method involves, exposing the absurdity in the perfectionist, thinking all or nothing. Look around and ask yourself how many things in the world can be broken into this category. Are the walls around you totally clean? Is your favorite film star perfectly beautiful? Do you know anyone who is totally calm and confident all the time?
When you start looking around with a critical eye, you can get over this self=defeating all-or-nothing thinking. It helps you come out of that thinking which doesn’t fit into reality . Instead you can combat perfectionism by asking yourself. “What can I learn form my mistakes?’ As an experiment think about some error you made and write down everything you learn from it. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things.
Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. There is , after all, a reward in trying to be perfect, it protects us- from risking criticism, or failure l But it is also robs you of growth, adventure, and the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make you a after happier and more productive person.

Anticyclone
Anticyclone is just opposite to cyclone. It refers to the region in which the atmospheric pressure is high, with the highest point at the center. In this situation the winds blow spirally outwards format eh center, clockwise in the northern hemisphere and anti clockwise in southern hemisphere. In summer, anticyclones are associated with warm and sunny conditions; in winter they suggest frost and fog as well as sunshine.
Quotes form the Essence of Gita
From where will come the power to collect together the whole mind? All power is within us because the Self is the source of all power is within us because the Self is the source of all power. The body, the mind and the intellect are only instruments of the Self. Using these instruments, the Self is playing, a s it were a great game. Just as efficiency is lowered when the instruments goes out of order, the play of the Self too is affected when the mind and the intellect become impure. It is then not able to manifest its infinite power. If , however, the mind and the intellect are pure with preponderance of serenity (Sattva), the power inherent in the Self can manifest wonderfully connection with religion.

On The Sands of Time
Character was the best qualification
Nobel Laureate Prof C.V Raman was then the Director of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. One day he had to interview candidates for a job in the institute
Among them a young man was unable to give correct answerers to some of his questions. So Raman told him not to entertain hopes of securing the job. The young man left the room with a broken heart. He claimed down the step and stood alone in the waiting room. After some time. Prof. Raman came down. He noticed that the young man was still waiting there. He told him again that he should give up all hops of being taken for the job. The young man humbly replied with folded hands, “Sir, I am only waiting for the office to open. I have been pad give rupees extra by the clerk as fare and daily allowance. And your concentration too will help you to form a clear picture in your mind of the ultimate objective.
Your thinking should be constant and continuous. When you think-on one subject, do not allow other thoughts to enter. When you think of a rose, think of the different kinds of roses only. When you study Gita,Ramayan do not think of your professional problems. Concentration will help you to arrange your thoughts in order and become a rapid thinker.
Think of different items one by one in order . By this practice you will develop organized thinking. Your thinking power will gain strength and force. It will become clear-cut and well defend.
You can also stimulate thinking power by taking part in serous conversation or discussion. Listen to the views of others that will make things clear. Defend your own position so that will drive you to think more clearly and objectively.
Read as many books and magazines as possible. Also read as fast as possible. Then you can use the time save in thinking about what you have read.
Men reached great heightens by seeking to answer questions like why? when? where? who? how? This kind of mental activity spread over a long time will help to improve your thinking power.
Insulting others
A man who insults anyone exhibits his arrogance. The man who allows to be insulted lacks self-respect. A person indulges in insulting when he ants to express his anger and belittle the other person. Insults are also hurled by a person to show his vanity and superiority. There are people who resort to insulting others due to psychological reasons. Insulting another person in anger is the most dangerous passion. Everyone must realize that one must not do unto there what one would not like to be done into him.
No offence
An act done in the right of the exercise of self-defance is no offence under the law.
Reading is the best learning . To follow a great man’s thoughts is the most entertaining of science.
The victories of truth have never been won without risks.
Look before you leap, see before you go.
All Spectacular Success.
All spectacular successes were achieved in little courageous steps taken with self-confidence and faith in the nobility of the final goal chosen.
Determination And Motivation
Desire is the key to motivation, but its determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal- a commitment to excellence that will enable you to attain the success you seek.
Quotes form the Essence of Gita
Suppose I am a student and I have to go abroad for higher studies or for some other good purpose. If a scripture cannot help me in that situation , then what will be my condition? When we look deeply we can see that the scriptures are not at fault. The fault, lies with us. We have completely forgotten how the teachings of the scriptures are not at fault. The fault lies with us. We have completely forgotten how the teachings of the scriptures have to be-and can-be applied in every situation of life. Having thus forgotten it, we now think that to practice true religion we must retire into solitude. Sri Krishna has a different view. On one had , he tells Arjuna,
“You will attain nothing in religious life if you do not fight for the cause of justice.” On the other had, he tells people of a different temperament, like Uddava and others, “Give up everything, go to the Badrikashrama in the mountains a, and meditate with an unwavering mind. Without doing that, you will not attain anything in religious life. It is clear therefore that what the scriptures want to say is this If you really work unselfishly by giving up all fruits of actions, you will be spiritually liberated, no matter where you are.

Secret of your success

Monday 2–May- 2011
Secret of your success
Many people do not use their brain fully and what they do not use goes rusty. If you wish to succeed in life you need to use your brain. There is no need to pray for more brains without realizing that the brains you have should be fully developed!
People who have used their brain fully have achieved extraordinary things in life. And people who through inactivity have not put their brain to the fullest use, have failed in life miserably.
Just think you have certain special abilities. You have brains and you know the method of dong things easily and skillfully. Believe in our self and work hard. With reasonable confidence in our own powers, you will succeed and make headway in the attainment of our hopes. With confidence inventors and explorer have seen their dreams come true!
Observation is an important factor in developing intelligence. Many people saw an apple fall to the found. But it took Issag Newton to observe it and get the Law of Gravitons. All efficiency is based upon observation Keep your eyes open all the time and watch how things are done by experienced people. You will do your work more efficiently if you know something of their work.
Failure to use your brain is to hurt yourself. You must be on the alert and jump at opportunities. You just have to keep jumping because none can tell when the opportunity will come. Aim at reaching the maximum you are capable of . That is the secret of your success!
Grace is to the body what judgment is to the mind.
Proves his worth
That person proves his worth who can make us want to listen when he is with us and think when he is gone.
Love of Dharma
What distinguish man in not his appetite which we all have in common with animals but his aptitude for goodness and Love of Dharma
When God is Pleased
When God, who removes all difficulties , is pleased, man gets son of good character, a faithful wife, a pleased and satisfied employer, loving friend, trustworthy servant , a mind without worry, a good physique , secure wealth, and a face shining with the light of knowledge.
Aim at the sun
Aim at the sun, and you may not reach it, but your arrow will fly far higher than if aimed at an object on a level with yourself.
Quotes from The Essence of The Gita
If we as why the Self made this mistake, the scriptures say, “Dear friend, that is not something to be learnt or to be taught. Let the mistake be corrected first and then learning or teaching becomes possible. You mind and intellect function only within the domain of that ‘mistake’ how then can your mind and intellect understand the cause that mistake?’ scripture swill answer “Knowledge has been covered by ignorance and that is the cause of all the trouble.” If we ask what the way out is, the scriptures will say “Ah, we have found a way! Go on doing good work without paying any heed to joy or sorrow or gain or loss. That will destroy egoism, the root of ignorance.”

Secret of Leadership

Monday 25–April- 2011
Secret of Leadership
According to Professor Cyril Northcote Prksinson, Britih historian and author, known for study of business world, the secret of leadership is composed of the following Seven components.
Imagination:- can be described as an ability to form clearly in the mind alternative goals, It helps a leader to choose wisely in his planning and execution. In the final attainment ,one can reach the stage of a visionary-one who forms plans that are difficult to carry out.
Knowledge- is a priceless need of a leader. it is from the imaginative knowledge which he has collected in the past, that he can plan a course to reach his destination. Proper knowledge alone give the man required confidence to attain his goals. It is the lack of confidence that make people to show hot temper, indulge in fault-finding, and shouting techniques. The truth is, there are no bad workers-only bad leaders.
Ability is a skill , which a leader has in guiding other to perform their tasks to the best of their ability. This ability will make a leader do things which other people find difficult.
Determinations is the strong belief in one’s capacity to do the job . It sparks in the followers the necessary confidence to do their job well.
Acing strictly is rejected quality in our society . One cannot achieve distinction without this quality for the following reason.
(a) The idle, the disloyal and the fake have to be removed. (b) Where such elements are not controlled , it is the willing and able persons who have to bear all the burden. This is a situation that cannot last long, without affecting the confidence of the willing workers. (c) Organizational ability can only be improved by rewarding the fit and punishing the unfit, (d) Due credit, must be given, otherwise it will be meaningless to be creditworthy.
Attraction is necessary to command attention. If the leader is not visible, he is not heard. Since it is not practicable to be present everywhere in today’s world of massive bigness, it is better to be talked about. People talk about the man who do the uncommon and the unexpected.
Art. Professor Parkinson did not believe in the theory that leadership is a quality with which the man is born . Nor, it can be learnt in school and colleges. Leadership is an art that can be acquired with effort.
Man who Learns From Success And Failures.
The man who is discouraged by his mistakes and by opposition he is dulled. The man who learns from both success and failure –he is sharpened .
Any good that you do, do it now. Do not delay it, for you will not pass this way again.
God is Not Unjust
Remember that God is neither partial nor unjust. Remember that God is not responsible for the wealth of a man or the poverty of another . You suffer on account of your own wicked action.
True Greatness
Keep your mind closed to every undesirable , destructive and depressing thought. There is no altitude too high for your aim and aspiration. As you daily develop increased power you will be better ready for increased service. Remember true greatness is expressed in love , reverence, honor and nobility.
Your Environment Will Control You
In the end your environment will control you ; there fore , make sure that you control your environment . Avoid situations, acquaintances, associates, who tend to hold you back.
Quotes from The Essence of The Gita
The fact that we are working does not automatically guarantee that we shall realize the One . It becomes possible only when all work is done as yoga. We should work in such a way that it will take us to the knowledge of the One. The Gita says that we must never abstain from work. We must , however , do it wisely, so that we don’t get bound by desire and greed.

Sound sleep

Monday 7th February-2011
Sleep
When we don’t get sound sleep at night, we feel irritable throughout the day. However, of the two sexes, as experts say, its women who are more badly affected than men. Researchers found that poor or insufficient sleep affects their overall health than it does in men. Researchers found that poor or insufficient sleep affects their overall health than it does in men. Experts at Duke University in North Carolina conducted the research and found that it would increase the risk of diabetes heart attack and stroke. It is because as they found women who did not get a good night’s sleep were more likely to be angry and depressed than men. They also found that not getting enough sleep has also increased level of insulin and glucose in women.
Words in Their Contexts
Learning a language involves lot of fun besides some confusions. It is still more with English Language; perhaps , it is due to the fact that each word has individual word meaning or phrase meanings that generally hare the same idea, concept or semantic are as well as certain key differences. These shades of subtle differences govern why one word sounds natural or correct in a particular sentence and why another word, apparently very close in meaning to the first word, doesn’t sound right. For example , Sad, and Unhappy seem to be almost synonymous, but in the sentence I was desperately unhappy at School would sound distinctly odd if Sad were to be substituted for unhappy or in another context reminisce to remember.
The word above in general means in a higher position than something Over; Overhead; Overhang etc.
a) There is a light above the table
b) We looked up and see helicopter hover directly above us
c) At that time, we lived in an apartment above a drug store.
d) Over is used to mean directly above something or moving in the air above something or covering all the area above something.
Usage :a) Black clouds hung over the mountains.
b) Scientists have discovered a hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica.
c); The crash took place while the plane was flying over the Matterhorn.
Overhead; In the sky directly above you.
Usage; A flock of birds passed overhead;
The power is carried by overhead wires.
Overhang: if something such as a tree or a rock overhangs something , it sticks out over it.
Usage; The bird sat on a branch overhanging the water.
Rain Tree .
It is a huge umbrella shaped tree from Venezuela . It is cultivated in our area as an avenue tree. It has short massive trunks which breaks up into large wide-spreading branches. They bear feathery foliage that can relate an unsurpassed canopy of shade. It give out pinkish flower which bloom in globes clusters and look like shaving brushes. Its fruits are succulent pods that contains a sugary pulp. It is relished by squirrels cattle and horse. The pulp is fermentable and may be used in the production of alcohol. The tree gets its name from eh fact that the leaflets fold together during a rain storm.
Quote from the Essence of the Bhagavad-Gita
After estimating our own self-interest, we set ourselves to work. We educate ourselves not for the sake of knowledge but to earn our long our to make a name for ourselves. We love our families and others not for their sake but because it makes us happy. If we see deeply in this way, we notice that all our work its geared toward self-pampering. It is nothing but an elaborate worship of the ego! We have one thing on our lips and another in the mind. Unless this “theft in the dampers of the mind” is stopped we wont be able to do anything worthwhile. No right path will open before our eyes.
.

Ageless Wisdom

Monday 10rd January-2011
Ageless Wisdom
Keep cheerful. In pain, cry, But deep in yourself know that the Lord is only purifying your inner instruments.
An intelligent choice of thoughts changes the character pattern in us, placing thus the entire destiny of our life in our own hands.
All disturbances and challenges rise not only from our relationship with others, but from our attitude to all other things and beings.
Renounce ego is the Lord’s only request, and I will make you God is the promise
It is easy to develop the intellect, but it is difficult to develop the heart.
If you want to prove God, improve yourself. This is the only method.
The source of all bliss is the dedicated performance of duty.
Great achievements are earned not through proficiency alone; achievements are the rewards of efficiency.
The quitter the mind, the shaper the intellect.
At all times, send out thoughts of love to all, kindness to all, blessings to all. Soon you will find all, including your enemies , showering love on you.
Be regular . Be sincere. Make each day a rounded beauty of love, goodness and joy. Live in the bliss of best thoughts , said and done.
A man of full realization instinctively becomes a lover of the whole universe.
He who believes that fall is antecedent to rise, will never give way to despair.
Kripa (Kindness) is an attitude of sympathy cooked in kindness, honeyed with love and served on golden platters of understanding.
Constant contemplation upon sense objects is the cause for bondage.
Doing good in return for evil is the correct morality.
Learn to be happy alone. If we do not enjoy our own company , why inflict it on others?
Be tapasvin and learn to tap the very source of all life and joy, which is verily in thyself . go inwards towards the Lord in thee.
Let your limbs do their work, but let apart of your mind steadily hold on to the idea of the Divine Essence in you.
God is not an ‘object’ to be found outside. Stop searching Discover Him within.
Learn to speak softly , always words of Love and Affection then friends multiply.
Be ruthlessly discriminative, let not the hart wander away without the intellect, its master driver.
Live your life as though you are a true mental Sanysin, Depend on none for anything. Be happy with what is given. What comes to you unasked is what comes from Him. Serve all, at all times, in all ways. Let not your goodness be a liability on you. Don’t allow others to play pranks on you because of your goodness. Be fully conscious of the weakness and goodness of individuals and the society around you. But in spite of their weakness , love them! serve them!
Our Environment
Loss of Biodiversity And World Economy
For the survival of man on the Earth a perfect and balanced ecosystem is needed. Of late, there are many reports about the loss of biodiversity. Mass extinction of plants and animals could have a severe impact on the living standards fo the poorest people on our planet. It also has an impact on world’s economy. According to the study report presented at United Nation’s talks on biological diversity in Bonn on may 29,2008, Global GDP could decline by 7% by 2050 if ecosystem decline is not tackled.
According to the scientist three species are dying every hour, threatening biodiversity. Its impact on world’s economy is analyzed by TEEB, The economics of Eco-systems and Biodiversity. After a stem review of climate change, a sea change had come over the way the countries stated looking at the economics of global warming Likewise the TEEB analysis also in expected to bring a change the way counties tackle the loss of biodiversity.
How it affects us;-The 40 million pounds damage caused by mankind to land ecosystems each year is directly responsible for crises such as rocketing food prices. The earth could lose 11% of its natural areas by 2050 at this pace. Agriculture the expansion of infrastructure and climate change also contribute to this decline. So stern steps are needed to be taken by all counties . according to Gordon Shepherd. WWF Internationals director of internationals director of international policy , biodiversity is not just a green issue, but it is life support , providing food , fuel fiber, medicines, pollinating soil fertility and water.
Quote from the Essence of the Bhagavad-Gita
Some look upon the Self with wonder, some speak of its nature with wonder, some hear of it with wonder, and some unfortunate ones there are who do not understand even after hearing of it(2.29)
You belong to the class of warriors. If you lose the war, heaven awaits you for doing your duty on the battlefield if you succeed, you win the kingdom . So arise and fight .(2.37)
And how will you fight?
Fight with equanimity , looking with evenness upon joy and misery , victory and defeat, gain and lose.
If we do this , no sin can touch us. We don’t have to bother about anything else. We only need to see that we are doing our work as a matter of duty and for the cause of truth . if we can work in the world with this attitude, if we can keep these thoughts always in our minds, if we can go on working like servants of God without calculating our own personal gain or lose ; in no way can we remain in bondage . We shall gradually advance toward our spiritual , liberation. This is the central theme of Jnana Yoga.

There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. He asked. Find The World Within You

Monday 18-October 2010
Find The World Within You
Sometimes we face an amusing question; Where do we belong? Before we go in quest of an answer, we must realize that we belong to ourselves. That island can be as barren as rocks on the moon or as fruitful as an orchard or a beautiful countryside. It is within us to make of ourselves what we want to be-creatively, not destructively. You train for your goals, but they must be realistic, not dreams beyond your reach.
During moments of stress and tension, we can take a vacation. We can take this vacation every day for a few moments and it costs nothing the daily vacation is within you, in the room of your mind. Go on this vacation when pressures are great. Relax for a few minutes, let go of the tension, renew your energies for the problems before you.
Isn’t it wonderful to be an island within yourself briefly? But you do not stay that way. You belong to yourself, no doubt, but you also belong to world. Happiness lies within the world, not totally within yourself. Prepare yourself to create a perfect rhythm between these two. You realize that you need the help of others as they need yours. Man reaches his true big self when he shares his success and his big self with others. He shares his courage with others when times are tough, when there is pressure. He stands up for himself and for others, turning a crisis into an opportunity . The world is full of crises, and we are here to help each other rise above them, to reach fulfillment, and sooner or later, the common benefit of Man.
Health Hazard
Weekends we go on a “clean home” drive . We thin of cobwebs , kitchen cabinets, toilets, etc. very few of us think of the computers. According to a new research, the PC’s Keyboard could be dirtier that even the toilet covers. They are said to be home t millions of bacteria , which can lead to diarrhea and vomiting.
The researchers found a host of bugs, including E collie and Staphylococcus areas, which can trigger skin infection. Such bacteria can put the user at risk. Most people don’t give a thought to such grime that builds on Pc.
The researchers pointed out that the PC must be cleaned often. One of the main causes for such harmful bugs or bacteria could be the habit of munching snacks at the computer desk. The food crumbs would fall into the keyboard and encourage the growth of bacteria. Poor personal hygiene and dust that traps moisture also provide an growth. According to Professor Hugh Pennington, .Scottish Microbiologist, personal hygiene is at the root of the problems.
So take care of yourself and your computer.
Personal Commitment Pays
Unfortunately, so many people have dreamed so long. They actually don’t even know what they want any longer. You have got to stir up the dream inside yourself. Your dreams and your destiny are not determined by ‘chance’ but by ‘choice’.
You can have anything in life you want… if you know hat you want! It seems , a young boy asked his grandfather, “would you tell me, please , which way I ought to go from here?” The old man answered, “that depends a great del on where you want to go”. The boy said .”Oh, I don’t much care.” The old man answered, “Then it really does not mater which way you go”, ?Which way do you want your life to god? What do you want? It is your choice! You are in control. Quite blaming others for your disappointments! Make quality decisions to get up and get going! Life goes on ! Renew your personal commitment to life. Renew your dreams . renew your vision. Don’t let time or circumstances keep you from turning you life around. It is your choice.
You must have a vision! Helen Keller once said. “The only thing worse than not having sight is not having vision”.
Ancient Scripture says without a vision people perish !if you don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you get there?
Your vision must be effective, clear, and inspiring to be valid.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belong to those who believe in the beauty of there dreams’ Never let anybody steal your dream or vision!
Life’s result are not by chance but by choice.(Source; ‘Cosmo)
Quote from Essence of the Gita
The kind of calmness should be cultivated by all. A kind of intoxication entrees into us when we work. That is bad. We lose command of ourselves. It is work that goads us on and it is the senses that drive us on. the boss surrenders at the feet of the servant and the puffed up servant treats the boss any way he life’s!
In the battle f daily life and at the workplace, we should always be calm. That is why the teachings of the Gita are not only for monastic. Nor are they only for the married. They are relevant to all people of all nations and for all times. That is why another name for the Gita is the “Gitopanishads’.The special characteristic of the wisdom and teachings of the Upanishads is there universality. After showing different paths suitable to the various types of students, the sages of the Upanishads proclaim boldly “ You are heirs to immortality . Immortality is your nature. Through delusion you may imagine yourself to e a noble person, a barbarian, a priest or a laborer. But none of these identities can bind you . you are free , you are free. You are eternally free. ‘Only after seen the Gita’s universal spirit did the author of the “Glory of the gita “(Gita Mahtmay) declare that the Gita was produced by churning the Upanishads.

Sound A form of Energy

Monday 11-October 2010
Sound –A Form of Energy
Sound is a form of energy carried by waves of vibrating particles . These waves are called Sound Waves. They can travel through solids, liquids and gases, but they cannot travel through vacuum as there are no particles to vibrate. For this reason, sound cannot travel out in space.
Sound Waves are longitudinal waves. It means that the particles vibrate in the same direction as the waves travels. Waves frequency is measured in hertz(Hz).Sound waves with frequencies between about 20 and 20,000 hertz can be heard by the human ear and are commonly described as sound. Sound waves below this range re known as infrasound and above it are ultrasound. High sounds such as bird song. Have high-frequency waves, whereas low sounds, such as the rumble made by the engine of a heavy truck, have low-frequency waves. The sound of an aircraft landing measures about 120 dB. Aircraft make such loud sounds that ground crew wear ear protectors to avoid hearing damage.
Loud sounds are waves with a large amplitude. Soft sounds are waves with a small amplitude . as a sound travels farther away from its source, the amplitude becomes smaller and so the sound becomes quieter. The loudness of sound is measured in decibels(dB). The blue whale is the loudest animal in the world. It makes sounds up to 188dB. The sound of falling leaves measures 10 dB.
Speed of Sound: Sound Waves travel at different speeds in different substance. They travel more quickly in solids than in liquids and more quickly in liquids than in gases. The speed of sound waves as they travel through dry air at 0 degree Celsius is 331 meters per second. This speed increases if the air temperature goes up, and decreases if the temperature of the air goes down.
A speed that is faster than the speed of sound in the same conditions is known as a Supersonic Sound. One that is slower is a Subsonic Speed.
Echoes: Echoes are sound waves that have reflected off a surface and are heard shortly after the original sound. Echoes can be used to find the position of objects. When animals such as bats and dolphins use echoes. It is called echo location. They use it to find their way around or to locate prey.
Sonar is the name given to the method used by ships to measure thee depts. Of sea water or to detect underwater objects such as shipwrecks or shoals of fish. The echoes are detected by equipment on board the ship. hoes are also used in Ultrasound Scanning to see inside the body-for example to check on the growth of an unborn baby inside its mother Bone, muscles , and fat all reflect ultrasonic waves differently. A computer uses this information to make a picture.
We lie the loudest when we lie to ourselves.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
People with chronic fatigues syndrome are not just tired; there fatigue is debilitating, keeping them away from work and play for months. It is accompanied by lot of symptoms that come and go, including muscle pain, sore throat, tender lymph nodes, headaches and impaired memory. Still doctors are not sure as to what causes chronic fatigues syndrome, but it affect large number of people . one theory suggests that a virus, stress or trauma jump-starts the immune system which remains activate instead of gearing down as it should. As a results , immune factors, (some of which cause fatigues) may remain in high concentration n the blood.
Chronic fatigues syndrome has many similarities to (gibromyalglia) reare disorder of the soft tissues. Some people say these two are the same . People with fibromyalgia also feel tired, but their main complaint is muscles pain.
A Diagnosis of chronic fatigues syndrome is made only after a medical checkup has ruled out other problems . symptoms are usually relieved with pain medications and antidepressants. Moderate exercise also is helpful.
Integrity
I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true.
I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to the light I have.
I must stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.
True Courage is Cool and Calm
Courage consists , not in blindly overlooking danger, but in seeing and conquering it .
True courage is cool and calm, The bravest of men have the last of a brutal, and in the very time of danger are found the most serene and free.
Courage is considered as an essential of character
Conscience is the root of all true courage, if a man would be brave let him obey his conscience.
Impure Thought
Impure thoughts awaken impure feelings, lead to impure expressions, and beget impure actions and these affect both body and mind and to the ruin of all that is noble and pure in character .
Life must be lived forwards
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as on plays it.
The business of life is to go forward.
Life can only be understood backwards but it must be lived forwards.
The truth is that happiness is the most powerful of tonics in life.
Quote from The essence of Gita
According the scholars in Europen and America, Indian religion or Indian philosophy speaks of only detachment. It says “Don’t care for anything in this world. Renounce, renounce.” That is way, these scholars feel, a sort of melancholy or depressing tendency is found in the Hindu race, a kind of indifference or lack of enthusiasm for doing anything Hindus have the attitude.” What’s the point in doing anything in this evanescent life?” This has led to laziness and inertia.
How far these ideas are true becomes clear as soon as we study the Gita. I am not referring only Sir Krishna’s repeated instruction to not stop working. We see that Krishna himself demonstrates at every moment of his life intense activity in the midst of intense ret. He does every kind of work, but within him there is extraordinary serenity. It is this state that Krishna refers to as “detachment”

Knowledge is power

Monday 20-September- 2010
Knowledge is Power
We are living in an age of speed and epoch-making inventions. New inventions from far and near are taking he masses forward. Today supersonic airplane conquer the speed of sound. Computers take over as central nervous system in business establishments, hospitals, libraries and educational institutions. Videophone provides instant visual communication with anyone anywhere .Satellites connects the home with a world network of information , education, and entertainment. Terms such as rockets, robots, atomic missiles, I.C.B.M. atomic reactor, Cobalt. Bomb,. International Monetary Fund, World Bank etc are talked about in many places. We should know what all these exactly mean. These require intelligent understanding. So we should make it a point to read newspapers, journals, and books to acquire accurate knowledge on such subjects as it contributes must to the maturity of our thoughts.
Knowledge is wealth, not plundered by relatives not carried off by thieves, not decreased by giving. It give us the necessary confidence in life. For success in life we should keep abreast of the time utilized our thoughts to keep in touch with the latest achievements of human efforts. The more extensive our knowledge of what has been done, the greater will be our power of knowing what to do. If we are conscious that we are ignorant is a great step to our knowledge.
It is highly desirable that we must choose books and journals on important subjects like science, technology, politics, economics and sociology, and make a serous study of them.
The grand object of reading is to become well informed. We come into the world ignorant of everything. The history, the experience of other men and other generations, can be ours only by thorough reading of useful books. The laws of mind and of matter do not change, and thus we can , in a short life, know as much and judge as accurately the use of books/ the laws of mind and of matter do not change, and thus we can, in a short life, now as much, and judge as accurately, by the use of books, as we could by living thousand of year! The desire of knowledge, like the thirst of riches, increases ever with the acquisition of it.
Our knowledge contributes much to the maturity of our thoughts. We become refined and are able to overcome anti social activities by dealing with them boldly and effectively. Knowledge endows us with serene calmness; unperturbed patience and absolute self control. It gives us the courage to resist temptations to indulge in improper behavior and illegal activities . our thoughts will never become base or mean. With the use of knowledge we areas sure to make useful contribution to human progress some day or other. We are also certain to raise ourselves to higher levels of thoughts and actins. We will also add to the progress and welfare of the nation.
Knowledge is power and great wealth . To know as many things as possible is to win. If we have knowledge , others will light their candle at it!
If knowledge can create problems, it is not through ignorance that we can solve them.
The only wealth is found in human hearts
If I have strength, I owe the service of the strong; if melody I have, I owe the world a song.
If heaven’s grace has endowed me with some rare gift, I can lift; if I can heal some wound no other’s hand can heal, to a wounded world my gift is healing.
For any gift God gives to me. I cannot pay; gifts are most mine when I give them away;
God’s gifts are like His flowers, which show their right to stay by giving all their bloom and fragrance away. Riches are not gold, nor land, estates. The only wealth there is , is found in human hearts.
Be industrious
Be studious in your profession, and you will be learned. Be industrious and frugal , and you will be rich .Be sober and temperate and you will be healthy.
Smart person and Wise person
The difference between a smart person and a wise one is that a smart person knows what to say , but a wise person knows whether to say it or not.
Hints to keep you young
Do not be on the look out for ill health. Keep useful at work. Have a hobby. Learn to be satisfied. Meet adversity courageously. Keep on liking people. Met the little problems of life with decision, Above all , maintain a good sense of humour, best done by saying something pleasant every time you get a chance. Live and make the present hour pleasant and cheerful. Keep your mind out of the past , and keep it out of the future.

How to Enoy Your Leisure

Monday 13-September- 2010
How to Enjoy Your Leisure
There are some people who are bored by leisure, It seems to them a waste of time.
While others work to live, they live to work and for work. The prospect of retirement fills them with fear and when it inescapable comes, they frequently crack up, simply because they have no idea how to use their leisure. There are others for whom leisure could become a real problem.
Do you get the fullest benefit from your leisure? Do you know how to use it properly?
There are certain simple principles whereby we can make much fuller and more profitable use of our leisure and thy are well worth mastering.
1. Have the firth idea about leisure;
It is important that our attitude towards leisure should be sensible and realistic. Work and leisure are part of the essential rhythm of life and we must accept that basic idea and then make provision for it.
For example some people seem to feel guilty about being found ‘off duty’. Of course, there are the professional work-dodgers whose policy is always to do as little as possible with the least effort to themselves.
But if we are to work effectively, we need leisure. Henry Ford is reputed to have laid that the Model ’A’ Ford would have been in production six months earlier if only he and insisted that his engineers had not worked on Sunday’s! This is simply an indication that working seven days a week made them less effective. A rest day would have restored them and increased their powers of concentration. They worked longer hours but less effectively.
So, let us recognize the apart which leisure has to play in a full life and to see what wrong it is to say that we have no time for rest , relaxation and leisure.
2.Plan to leisure;
Having recognized its importance, we must make definite and systematic provision for leisure. Some jobs make this more difficult than others. A doctor, for example, is liable to be called upon at any time . But this is no reason for not making provision for leisure indeed, a planning of a more careful provisions is all the more necessary.
Planning ahead for a particular occasion and kind of leisure has the effect of giving us some thing to look forward to and this can provide not only an enjoyable time when it arrives but gives that pleasurable anticipation which can have the effect of encouraging us and inspiring us in the midst of what may be other wise unpleasant and difficult tasks.
This is not necessarily to say that leisure time must always be at a precisely arrange time. Of course, for some occasions, it will need to be-theaters and cinemas do not arrange their programmes to suit our whims-but if our job allows it, it is a good thing sometimes to give ourselves an unscheduled break. Depending on circumstances, this may be to slip out for a cup of coffee or to have a half-day off.
3.Be active and creative.
The research why many people are bored with leisure time in that they equate it with idleness . Of course, there an be a place ever for this but it will be the rare occasion , the exception.
A morning in bed or even a cup of tea in bed, ma some times be the very luxury and relaxation we need. But generally speaking , leisure time Is not meant to be sent just moving round the house, unshaven and half-dressed. We need occupation of a positive kind.
Obviously, the exact activities in which we shall engage will very according to individuals. Indeed, once for the interesting things about leisure is the way it often enables us to find ourselves and to develop our real interests.
There is great room for experiment but some kind of creative work is worth trying. It is amazing, for example, the numbers of people who quite late in life have found a capacity to paint or draw and have found immense pleasure and pace in this occupation.
4.Learn to take leisure lightly
It may well be that part of your leisure time you will wish to spend in some serious pursuit-perhaps learning a language so that you can enjoy a holiday abroad more fully or taking some courses which will help you to improve your job.
Such a purpose will, of course, need regular and earnest application. But, in terms of sheer enjoyment, it is a god thing to have leisure time occupation where you do not need to take yourself so seriously.
For example , a game should be a game, but some people make every game a battle! They play as though their very life depended upon it. If it is a game such as bride, they probably make the whole exercise a miserly to their partner-unless he or she happened to be of the same dedicated type!
This same ability not to take oneself too seriously applies also to the kind of creative activity mentioned earlier. If you develop a pleasing skill in some art, all well and good. But do not be too much of a perfectionist. Do not be disappointed and frustrated because your results lack the mark of the professionals craftsman.
Determine not to spoil your pleasures by taking thing too seriously. There is great satisfaction of doing merely as a hobby.
5.Bring variety into you leisure.
To do the same things at the same time week in week out, year in year out is defeating one of the purposes that well spent leisure has-to bring freedom and spontaneity into our life.
Forms of Vinayaka In Different Countries of The world
The last that images of vianyaka (Ganesh), are found outside Indian culture has spread far and wide. Vianayaka is a very popular figure throughout Nepal, Chinese Turkistan, Tibet, Myanmar, Thiland , Indo-China, Java, bali, Norneo,China and Japan practically in the whole of East Asia.
Buddhist and Jains also claim Vianyaka as their God. He was known to the Chinese as well as to the Japanese under two forms one similar to that obtaining in India and the other (double form) two elephant-faced deities (male part and female counterpart) Japanese associated them with romance besides good luck. They call him Kangi-ten, double ganesha . In China He is seen in a rock-cut temple of King-hsein (531 A.D)
In Nepal Vianyak is seen with five faces, all that of elephants. The Javanese conception of Ganehsa in his sitting position is; He is calm. His calmness represents a man in ”Samadhi”
Generally Ganapati is enshrined in small temples and is given a prominent seat at the entrae of temles. But there is a vary big temple mainly dedicated to Him in Pillalaratti near Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu
If you goto sislam in Andhra Pradesh , you can see Vinayak playng a flute just like Krishna-Courtesy Sankara and Shanmata and “Tapovana Prasad”
No gift is more precious then a good advice.
Man’s suffering seems from his own inner attitude towards the outward happenings.
Yesterday is not for you, do it now
If you have hard work to do , do it now. Today the skies are clear and blue. Tomorrow clouds may come in view. Yesterday is not for you. Do it now. If you have a smile to show, show it now. Make harts happy . Let the friends around you know, the love you have for them; show it now. Prakash J . Shah
Everyone wants to succeed in life. Many of us say; “I want to succeed in my life”, Well, it is the expression of a desire to succeed in life. Having a desire is most important. But the desire alone cannot lead on to success. You must set a Goal.
Your ideas must be reinforced by setting a goal and you must prepare a plan to achieve it. Everything we see in the world around began as an idea in somebody’s mind.
A goal is an objective you want to achieve. A plain is a specific way of reaching the goal. Both the goal and plan are ideas in your mind.
You must clearly know what exactly you want. Without knowing the destination there is no use of proceeding on a journey.
There are many goals including money goals in everyone’s life. Thus you must be clear in selecting a realistic goal; it is better to set a goal as; Primary goal, intermediary goal and the goal of your life.
Before you select a goal you should know what talents you possess? What are your assets and strong points. Possibly you may have several talents. Select one in which you can excel.
On knowing and assessing your talents, you should look for an opportunity and find a way to utilise it. By constant effort you can even create an opportunity and work with imagination to achieve your goal.
To know your potential strength, you need to talk to your wise friends and take stock of your abilities and road blocks.
You must discipline your abilities for maximum usefulness to the maximum for a lasting success. The greatest undiscovered resources in the world lies under one’s hat and stands in one’s shoes.
Do not think either you goals or your plans to achieve them as unalterable. Goals are made to be shifted and plans are made to be changed.
While we are discussing about success through goal setting , our mind murmurs about “LUCK”.
Yes ,luck is found at a point where preparation meets opportunity.
Set your goal right now, work with imagination and make your life radiant with success.

He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha
