Racism
The following scene took place on a BA flight between Johannesburg and London.
A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the airhostess.
“Madam ,what is the matter?” the hostess asked.
“You obviously do not see it then/’ she responded, “You placed me next to a black man. I do not agree to sit next to some one from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat.”
“Be calm, please”, the hostess replied. “Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see it another place is available. The hostess went away and then came back a few minutes latter. “Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in the economy class. I spoke to the captain and he informed me that there is also no seat in the business class. All the same , we still have one place in the first class. “
Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued . “It is not usual fo our company to permit someone from the economy class to sit in the first class . However , given the circumstance, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting”.
She turned to the back guy, and sais, “Therefore, Sir, if yo would like to , please take your hand luggage because a seat awaits you in the first class”.
At the moment, the other passengers who were stunned by what they had just witnessed stood up and applauded.
Take a lesson from the sun who shines his light on everyone.
Or the rain that falls on every single shore.

Do not give way, hold tight, It is when everything seems lost that all is saved.
It is strange bridge-from your stupid ego to the Infinite Reality. Each time you take two steps, the bridge behind you is burnt.
We give our strings to the world to pull and make us dance as it wishes!
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
Although the company of holy men may do much to purify us and change our nature, however, character is after all what we from ourselves by our own habits of thought and by our own deeds. We alone are responsible for our characters. If we are now bad, we can change and become good. It all depends upon ourselves. But as long as we remain on the dual place , on the place of good and bad, there is danger of falling back. We must, therefore, go beyond both and reach a state where our characters become perfect. Then neither good nor bad can any longer have an effect upon them; they remain untouched by either. This is the only thing that is permanent in this transitory world and until we have reached this state were not free from danger. Thus a man who lies in solitude and ties to from his character may appear to be perfect a s long as he does not come into evil association, but he cannot be judged until he is seen in the midst of evil. That is the test. A perfect character is one who can go through good and bad unmoved. As it has been beautifully expressed by Emerson; “It is easy in the world to live after with world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who , in the midst of the crowd, keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.” This is the exact definition of a perfect man, who is always the same under all circumstances.

FRUITS OF FAITH
Monday 13 January 2012
Fruit of Faith
Ralph waldo emerson, wo did so much to bring out the best in so many people, once said that what he,himself, needed most was somebody to bring out the best in him to inspire and encourage him.
Self-confidence,even 4 Emersön, seems to grow out of the confidence of other people. If other people think we can,perhaps we can! All of us know how it encourages us just to be around certain friends. They expect great things 4m us and b4 long we expect them,too ourselves. Every worthwhile achivement in life is the fruit of faith-faith in ourselves and faith in our source.
Laugh and keep heart attacks away
A hearty laugh can give your heart,body and mind a perfect boost and helps you ward off a host of stress induced ailments including heart attacks.
Dr.Norman Cousins,professor at University of California, School of Medicine, believed that he cured his disease by taking massive doses of vitamin-C and laughing 4 Hours together. He found that 15 minutes of laughter enabled him to get good sleep. His recovery was remarkable.
Laughter interrupts the panic of an illness, and has a definite anasthetic effect. It causes the release of endorphine, they body's natural painkiller. It is significant that our own yoga too lays emphasis on laughter.
Laughter,the body's internal jogging results in elimination of stress thus reducing significantly the risk of stress induced diseases, including heart attacks.
Dr.William F.Fry, one of the world's leading laughter researchers,has discovered that heart muscles are activated, heart rate increased and and activated,heart rate increase and respiration is amplified with an increase in oxygen exchange during a hearty laugh.
The effects of laughter are the same as athletic exercise. Rehabilitation hospitals in New York have introduced "laughing rooms" where patients' family members and staff can relax with a joke book or comedy movies.
The international Laughter Society, a California based humour consultancy organisation,puts across this safe idea.
So , next time you have a quarrel with your wife or boss don't shout but take a Wodehouse book or watch either Chaplin or Laurel and Hardy in action.
Do not take life so seriously. Laugh 10-15 min a day and there will be fewer medical bills. He who laughs,lasts.

How to Get and Enjoy Success
________________________________________
By Anita - Posted on 02 September 2010
We naturally want to levitated to what success offers. It comes naturally for our curiosity, nature, appetite, hearts desire and purpose. Success for most of us means taking the high road, aspiring to something more and beyond, reaching ever-higher, to achieve, grow, expand and get better. It is ingrained and instilled in us almost.
Success is then typified as mastery and being in control of destiny, process and outcome, not feeling helpless, a victim of events, random chance and the like. Success embodies our wants, needs and desire as individuals, as human beings!
Living life to its fullest potential is at stake here. Success if mind over matter and within our every easy reach. It is about the balance between moral and ambition, regardless of your role, function or contribution in society. We all want to taste of success and be successful. We envision, crave and work (even manipulate if we have to) our way for and towards it.
Success is individual and unique and collective. Whether artiste, soldier, business executive, media representative, clerk, we all strive for a better life and getting ahead. It is common bond and factor we all share. Success is within reach of all, especially those who choose to embrace it fully. WE can make and claim our reality and destiny into being and some argue this is the only true path to success know and make happen what you are striving for, find and execute for SUCCESS! YOUR SUCCESS!
BOTH choice, free will, predisposition and assets can help, hinder, improve, destroy, showcase, trip up, even grow and expand our own success.
You need to know what your special gifts and talents are in order to tap into them effectively! But what contributes to being successful or tasting SUCCESS in your life?
There are THREE interwoven and inter-related concepts, forces at work here in this success dynamic. They are:
- Health - Well-being
- Judgment - Ability/Knowledge, Intuition
- Industry - Ambition
We ultimately define what, who we are, achieve, plan and execute in terms of success and/or failure - it is just what we do and how we go about it! It is normal and human to do so!
Success is important and means a lot in our modernistic society. We are all measures and held up to this arbitrary standard of achievement and SUCCESS in some form or another. But success does not just come by itself, without hard work, discipline and commitment amongst other things!
QOUTE FROM BHAGBHAT GITA
There is neither this world nor the world beyond nor happiness for the one who doubts.”
One gradually attains tranquillity of mind by keeping the mind fully absorbed in the Self by means of a well-trained intellect, and thinking of nothing else.”
“The power of God is with you at all times; through the activities of mind, senses, breathing, and emotions; and is constantly doing all the work using you as a mere instrument

Visitors To Our Garden

Monday 14th February-2011
Visitors To Our Garden
All of us love garden which teems with life such as beautiful flowering plants and fruit-yielding trees. Besides these don’t we find insects and birds creeping crawling and hovering?
It’s indeed fortunate to have a beautifully grown and tended garden around. While tending to the plants in our garden or while digging I the flower beds, we see earthworms or many other insects hidden in the soil. Furthermore, if we dig into a heap of compost, we often find a host of small insects or centipedes creeping out of it. So our gardens provide home to a large species of animals, and insects like , snails, sludge, spider etc. These small creatures not only build their homes in the soil but also help in making it more fertile.
The earthworms that dig into we soil mix the various layers of soil and make it porous and airy . Moles also do it though at a much larger scale. Most of these creatures live a hidden life, to protect themselves from predators and come out to feed only at night. Hence both plants and animals live together and are interdependent upon each other. Some insects feed on plats and once they die they decompose and become manure, which serve as good for plants.
Some flying insects like butterflies and bees also help plants in reproducing through pollination. Dead leaves from plants decompose on the ground and thereby provide food and shelter for the smaller creatures. There are many insects that survive on each other. For example spiders build webs and trap insects which sere as their food.
There are some occasional visitors to our gardens. They are various types of birds which feed upon insect and earthworms. If there are trees or berry bushes in the garden then these provide home and food for birds and other animals like squirrels and chipmunks. Thus nature is able to maintain its balance and all creatures and plants thrive through interdependence. Often a lot of wild plants like weeds, lichen, moss, mushrooms and toadstools find their way into our gardens and we remove the weeds to make our garden look neat and spruce.
HEALTH FACTS
To live healthy one has to eat smart. We don’t have to starve ourselves totally. We must make smart choices.
We should never skip breakfast. It forms the most important meal of the day. Good and nutrient-rich breakfast keeps us going through the day.
We should never skip a meal so that we could prevent eating a greedy and big meal. Instead we must have a small frequent meals.
We all must recollect what we were taught at school- That we should eat slowly, chew every bite 32 times and take at least 20 minutes to finish our meal. It works wonders because this gives us a feeling of fullness.
It is always advisable to avoid processed foods. Unprocessed food is available. Plenty. It includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and limited quantity of protein like eggs and milk.
Vegetarian diet rich in fiber will make us feel full soon and also helps move fat through our digestive system faster so that less fat is absorbed
Sugar in diets adds “empty calories” and no other nutrient to the body. So keep it to the minimum. We must also learn that when a product claims to be fat-free, it is not necessarily sugar-free or calorie-free..
Eating vegetable salad with no mayonnaises or any other high-fat dressing, is the best option.
We should not totally cut down on fat intake for various metabolic processes in our body. So stick to the recommended levels and avoid junk food, deep fired oily food, cakes, pastries and chocolates.
Balanced diets teamed up with regular exercise is the best option to stay healthy.

Sacred Talk on being Humble

Monday 16-August 2010
Sacred Talk
On being Humble
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth. Matthew
Humility is an essential attitude for success n both spiritual and daily life. Any self-conceit, whether nurtured by superior intelligence, wealth, a high position, or the praise of others, is an obstacle on your path-World scriptures.
Ah Children-
Be not arrogant, but assist the deities of Marvelous spirit power in their work.
Even the grains, and the teeming grass and trees-
Even these are favored with Blessing from amaterasu, Great Goddess of the Sun.
Morning and evening, at each meal you take,
Consider the blessings of Toyouke-no-kami
You people of the world.
The blessings of the God of Heaven and Earth-
Without these , how cold we exist,
Even for a day, Even for a night?
Forget not the grace of generations, of ancestors;
From age to age, the ancestors
Are our own Ujigami ,Gods of our families.
Father and mother
Are gods of the family;
Even so, honour them as gods with heartfelt service.
All of you of human birth.
Permanent Cheerfulness
The serene person who is absorbed in God, living thus in peace, is the true renunciation . maintaining an even mind in heat and cold, pleasure and pain , honour and disgrace marks the spirituality mature. Maintaining physical, mental and intellectual balance no matter how difficult the challenge, lead to permanent cheerfulness, which is the sure sign of yogi- Bhagavad-Gita
Think it over
Before you criticize people you should walk a mile in their shoe .that way, when you criticize them you are a mile always from them and you have their shoes.
If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heat
It is easy to be negative about past mistakes and unhappiness. But it is much more haling to look at ourselves and our past in the lift of experience, acceptance, and growth.
Life is made of small jumps over great obstacles. It is in the courage of getting through them that makes life challenging and exiting.
It can’t Be Split in Two..
No matter how hard you try, there is one thing that you cannot divide into two. It is a magnet. If you cut any magnet in half, no matter how large or small, you would not get two separate halves of the magnet you would only get two new smaller magnets. The reason is that every magnet has two poles-a north pole at one end and south pole at the other. It is impossible to have one kind of magnetic pole without the other. So, if a magnet is cut in half , new poles form at the ends of the two pieces.
Sharpen your wits!
1. How far is New Year from summer?
2. Which month has 28 days in it?
3. What three words do students in school use the most?
4. When the clock strikes thirteen, what times is it?
5. Name the device that is used for seeing through walls.
6. Which president wore the largest shoes?
7. when does 2 plus 2 equal five?
8. What motive led to the invention of railroads?
9. Whose is the strongest man in the world?
10. What is it you can’t live with out, but you never see?
Way to real happiness
Throw away the self-styled yokes of worry and anxiety. Everything takes its own course. Life is a divine sport. Let us play it accordingly. Life is a wonderful display of sorrow and elation. When everything has been said, then life is nothing but a product of our own minds. Merge the mind in its source. This is the way to real happiness.
-Swami Satyanands Saraswati

Don’t go through life too fast
Monday 19–July- 2010
Don’t go through life too fast
A young and successful officer was traveling through a neighborhood street, going too fast in his brand new Jaguar car.
As his car was passing, a brick smashed into its side door! He put on the breaks and moved backward to the spot where the brick had been thrown. He then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest boy and pushed him up against the parked car. He then shouted, “What was that all about and who are you? That is a new car and it will cost a lot of money to repair the damage . Why did you do it?”
The young boy was making an apology, “Please , Sir, I am sorry but I did not know what else to do”, he pleaded, “ I threw the brick because none else would stop”, with tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the boy pointed to a spot. “It is my brother”, he said. ‘He rolled off the edge and fell out of his wheelchair. I could not lift him up”. Now weeping the boy asked the surprised officer. “Would you please help me to get him back into his wheelchair? He is hurt and he is too heavy for me”.
Moved beyond words, the officer hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair. He then took out handkerchief and cleaned the cuts with care. A quick look told him everything was going to be all right.
“Thank you, May God bless you”, the grateful boy told the officer who was a stranger to him.
Too much upset , the officer simply, watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the path along the side of the street toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the car. The damage was easily seen, but the officer never took the trouble to repair the slight dent made in the side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of his message.
“Don’t go through life so fast that someone his to throw a brick at you to get you attention!”
God speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don’t have time to listen . he ahs to throw a brick at us. –(Courtesy :”Hypnotique)
Go not to the temple
Go not to the temple to put flowers upon the feet of God, first fill your own house with the fragrance of Love. God not to the temple to light candles before the altar of God, first remove the darkness of sin from your heart. Go not to the temple to bow down your head in prayer, first learn to bow in humility before your fellowmen. Go not to the temple to pray on bended knees, first band down to lift someone who is downtrodden. Go not to the temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins, first forgive from your heart those who have sinned against you. Rabindranath Tagore
Exercise patience with others.
In times of stress our impatience surfaces. We may say words we don’t really intend to say. Or we may communicate through emotion rather than words . we then suffer from hurt feelings and strained relationships. Patience is the real expression of faith , hope and love. Life provides abundant changes to practice patience.
If men will see their own faults as they see the faults of others, verily evil would come to an end in this world.
Right Thinking
Systematically cultivate the habit of right thinking. Substitute good thought for evil thought and the later will be eliminated. Do not compromise with any kind of wrong thought. The only way to get rid of it effectively is through the power of right thinking. If it is a desirable thing to think good thoughts for sometime, it is desirable to think good thoughts all the time. It is just as easy to think right thoughts as to think wrong thoughts. True independence and self-confidence are based upon right thinking.
If you are headed in the right direction, each step , no matter how small, is getting you close to your goal.
Tailor or Lawyer
The employer called his secretary: ”Here ,Meena, look at this letter. I cannot make out whether it is from my tailor or my lawyer! They are both name d Sudhir”.
The note read: “I have begun your suit. Ready to be tried on Thursday Sudhir.
Quote from True Religion always Help
Now to meet the requirements of life in the world, we need to earn money. And in this too, religion is our friend. Even today, honesty is the best policy in the world. He who earns his bred through honest labour may not amass huge wealth, but he will not be dogged by anxiety and fear or exposure. He will have an inner strength which cannot be purchased with money. Those who earn cheap, money, unrighteous money ,not only constantly face their risk of exposure, but before they realize it, the money itself may have vanished and all further avenues of earning closed to them.
A man with a sense of honor and dignity knows that it is the man who makes the money, not money the man. And this sense of dignity is more abiding if it springs from religion.
One without such a background thinks that it is money that makes the man and hence will do anything for money. Al such will eventually suffer.
A healthy body can produce a healthy spirit. – Old Roman saying.

Selfishness is alien to the bee!
Man has a lot to learn form the bee . it lives for the collective good of the hive. Selfishness is alien to it. Between the bee and the housefly there is a world of difference. The latter now sits on pure edibles and next on filth. Whereas the bee alternates between its hive and fresh flowers. Nowhere else does it land. It is ever industrious . at any moment it offers its life in defense of the hive.

Only one finger
“Twist someone round one’s finger” is an expression meaning that you handle or manage with skill a person and get him to do what you want him to do . it owes its origin to horse riding . A good rider can use only one finger to control the reins of the horse and get the animal to move left or right!

Importance of Continuous Learning.

Monday 21–June- 2010
Importance of Continuous Learning.
Today the work environment is changing rapidly. To meet the new challenges, continuous learning seems to be the only way to set new parameters of excellence.
Many organizations and Educational Institutes have been holding in-house orientation programme sot update the knowledge levels of their employees. Now it is not only the work-force which is learning but also the organization concerned. Certainly this learning process, keeps the Lerner, either an institution or an individual, or both, abreast of the times.
How far this continues learning process helps? If it is an educational institution, the seminars, and workshops bring personnel together which help them exchange, and observe the teaching-learning techniques to keep themselves abreast of the latest in the field. If it is a business organization it leads to improved quality standard and product improvement . This process certainly enhance their capability to continuously adapt to changing parameters in the field .
The other ways of acquiring such knowledge are making optimum use of information infrastructure such as group discussion, computer conferencing, internet, web chats, and various other ways of knowledge dissemination.
Thus constant learning process and upgrading nourishes new patterns of thinking and help expanding the creative abilities. Hence the importance of learning as an on-going process to enhance the knowledge and skill of an individual for the promotion of individual and organizational performance.
My Son’s Letter
My son’s letters always send me to the dictionary. It is difficult to understand the language the body uses”, said one father.
“You are lucky”, said another, “My son’s letter always send me to the bank”.
True Mediation
Mediation is not seeking an end; It is not groping purposefully after a goal. Out of mediation comes immense silence; not cultivate silence, not eh silence between two thoughts; but a silence that is unimaginable. The brain becomes extraordinarily quiet when in the process of enquiry; when there is silence, there is great perception. It is only when the mind is absolutely silent that one finds that which is beyond all words, which is timeless. Then out of that comes the vastness of true mediation.
Quote from true religion always helps, Real issue of life and religion.
In considering these real issues, we should always remember the basic fact that life is not a mere groping in the dark. It has a definite end, which is the attainment of perfection or illumination or complete self-fulfillment. Growth and advancement, which are two basic urges in man, and protection from injury and maintenance, which are two basic requirements, have to be correlated to that end. And providing this correlation is the function of religion.
Our life on earth begin with our birth. Unfortunately, in these days the birth of a human being seems to have lost its sanctity and wonder . However , it has to be remembered that the birth of a baby is not only the biological consequence of the union of man and women. A metaphysical issue is also involved. The birth of a baby means the assumption of a baby means the assumption of body by a soul. A baby is a soul, a divine spark, or pilgrimage to high destiny.
He who over comes others is strong; he who overcomes himself is mighty.

How to Relax Our Mind

Monday 7–June- 2010
How To Relax Our Mind?
A mind filled with tension and unhappiness leads to negative thoughts. Such a mind creates problems to oneself and others.
In contrast, a mind which is relaxed and happy comes from positive thoughts. Transforming negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Is the hall mark of wisdom. It is well illustrated by Gautam Buddha, in an anecdote.
Once Buddha was addressing a large gathering of disciples. During the discourse , one person, out of jealousy, abused Buddha. Buddha Lovingly replied. “People are waiting to listen to my discourse in the neighboring village; please do come tomorrow. “
The man was astonished. He asked Buddha, “Are you not hurt by my harsh words?’ Buddha replied, “ In order to hurt me, you should have met me before my Enlightenment. Just as fire loses its potency when it comes into contact with water, your words, even though full of fury, lost their sharpness when they are hurled at me now”.
This is the positive thought center one has to awaken Before Buddha’s Enlightenment everything and everybody hurt him. But after he attained illumination the negative thought center has changed completely. There is yet another story that inspires us into a different thought process.
Once a father felt disturbed when his son made noise. He thought of method to calm his son. He tore a world map into piece and asked his son to join them. To his surprises , the son came back with the world map neatly pasted, in a few minutes. “How did you do this?’ asked the father. The son replied, “ Behind the world map, there was a picture of a man and I could join them easily”. Here the father who was not aware of son’s potential was finally led to find it. It is an awakening for the father that he could channalise his son’s energy and intelligence for a positive cause.
Let us change ourselves. The world will change by itself. At the same time, let us not get lost in changing only ourselves and forget to include others in our growth. We live in an “ I and You” world.
Think over on the following .
To a question, “Who is flying the kite”?
A boy replies. ‘I am flying the kite.”
The tail of the kite says, “ I am flying the kite”
The string says, “ I am flying the kite.”
Voice of the Lord said, “Oh! Children . We are flying the kite”.
Hence , the Vedic prayer says, “Let us all be Enlightened”.
We can relax in the world only when we teach ourselves and others to strengthen our strengths and weaken our weakness.
Whatever be our weakness, if we identify it , the negative thought centre in us will lose its grip on us.
Life is both fair and unfair. Learn to be a good finder. Studies show that happy people are good finder and also have the courage to counter unfairness.
Let our goodness come from our strengths, not from weakness.
How To Overcome Worry
Happiness is the goal of every human being. But many find that they are often troubled worry. “What shall I do if this happens?” How can I manage to deal with that?” The thought of meeting him terrifies me”. These are some thoughts that chase the mind of the victim of worry.
As long as we continue to worry, happiness escapes. If we continues to worry, happiness escapes. If we are worried, it shows in our face. People shun those who are worried with their won problems.
When you are worried to face a situation. “Be prepared for the worst that can possibly happen” and then improve on the worst. You can improve on the worst by analyzing the facts and arriving at a decision to act on it.
Suppose you are a young person employed in a job you do not like. Besides being unhappy, you are worried about your future. You are free to leave the job and try your best to secure another job.
If you stay where you are, you save yourself the trouble of looking for another job but you must suffer a life of dissatisfaction. If you move, you stand a chance of getting into a satisfying job with better prospects.
The advice that one should change his job is more suited to a younger man. The older man, with the best part of his working life behind him, may not be able to start again at the bottom in something new. Even though he dislikes the job, he must stick to it. Where this is the case, the problem can still be solved by changing the attitude.
There are many such problems in human relations that can be solved by seeing them in a different perspective. Worries caused by misunderstandings between friends, workers and managements, husbands and wives can all be overcome in this way.
“Getting it of your chest” is another method . Pouring our troubles into the ear of a sympathetic listener is a sound method. The pity of it is that there are not more people willing to listen . when we consult a psychologist, he acts as a sympathetic listen in a professional way. But anyone who is sympathetic to care and listen is performing psychotherapy for the troubled person.
In certain cases, where a frustrating situation cannot be altered, one needs to compensate for the frustration. This means that one should seek to achieve success in other aspects of life. Then the lack of success in the frustrating aspect will not matter much.
For example, a person who is frustrated by distasteful work which he cannot leave, might turn his attention to cultivating adequate social life, sports or recreation and so on.
When we cannot change the worrying situation, let us avoid it as much as possible. Do not think about your unpleasant work when you are away from it. If an unpleasant task lies ahead required to do it. Do not attempt to do today what must wait until tomorrow. Be content to live one day at a time.
As self is the root cause of all strife and suffering so love s the root cause of all peace and bliss.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Complacency

Monday 26–April- 2010
Complacency
Being satisfied and pleased with oneself is one thing. Having respect for oneself is another.
Once you reach your goal you gain confidence. You use this confidence to set new goals to achieve. That is what creative living is all about. But when should one be proud of one’s achievement? When you develop confidence on your own initiative , there is no shame in being pr0ud of it. You don’t have to brag about it; but you can look at yourself with kind eyes and, with approval, you can accept yourself for what you are and what you can be . This does not mean complacency, being satisfied with your lot and staying that way.
Complacency is variation of conceit, because you like yourself and go on liking yourself for what you have achieved, feeling you need not achieve anymore. Complacency and humility do not go together, but confidence and humility do. There is a hidden danger in being complacent . soon you become passive and rest on your laurels, whatever they may be. Then you slowly retire from the realities of life. Creative living means that you must always keep moving in the stream of things. You can still enjoy a vacation now and relax in the room of your mind to renew your energies and your courage to tackle life’s problems complacency signals that you are resting too long. All rest and no work makes you dull, uninteresting, lifeless.
No one can make you complacent without your consent.
Wisdom Speak
Life without goodness, good thoughts, good action and good words is like the sky in the night without the moon or stars. it is like a wheel without a hub or spokes. No one can push a boulder away while standing on it; you cannot be free from anxiety while all the entrances though whish it sneaks in are open- Atharva Veda
Treat those who are good with goodness and also treat those who are not with goodness. Thus goodness is attained. Be honest to those who are honest, and be also honest to those who are not honest. Thus honestly is attained.
We can work together for a better world with men and women of goodwill, those who radiate the intrinsic goodness of humankind.
Make every effort to pray from the heart. Even if you don’t succeed in the eyes of the Lord, the effort is precious.
We must learn to let go, to give up, to make room for the things we have prayed for and desired.
Quote from True religion always help
True, education without religion may produce intellectual giant. But they may very well turn out to be dangerous giants, though highly intellectual . education allied with true religion can also create intellectual giants. But they are not likely to be dangerous.
So we see how far reaching the role of religion is in the growth and development of the young, on whom depends the destiny of the nation and humanity itself.
Teacher ; As we have just learned the Earth is round and hangs in space without any support. Oliver , please tel the class how you can prove it.
Oliver ; I don’t have t prove it. I never said that it does.

Maintain a Cheerful Attitude
Monday 25-January 2010
Maintain a Cheerful Attitude
Most of the people do not know secret of keeping youthful. Of the many suggestions made by doctors a 7 hour sleep stands as the most important. People who complain sleeplessness are sedentary workers. They sit in their office; they sit hours on end before their TV or radio; they take little exercise. Instead of talking up to a friend, they talk to him over the phone. At the end of the day, they are not sufficiently tired to earn their sleep.
People who do sedentary jobs sitting in the workplace, need regular exercise. hobbies which are more than a mere pastime also help in the relaxation of mind and muscles.
People who wished to break monotony and boredom, should do a wide variety of household chore. They should do little of each to break the boredom.
Anger, jealousy, hatred are emotions which disturb sleep. Friendship, cheer, good actions give mental satisfaction and sleep. Anyone can stay young by getting inspiration from persons who have remained creative all their live.
Men and woman have to maintain a cheerful attitude. They are as young as their faith, as old as their doubt, as young as their self-confidence, as old as their fear, as young as their hope, as old as their hopelessness. So long as their heart receives messages of beauty, cheer, and courage from fellow beings and from the supreme power so long as are they young and youthful.
Stay young by continuing to grow with a cheerful attitude. Courtesy Wisdom

Quote from Gita
In the beginning we ordinary people are attracted by the uplifting manner of the devotees whose love for God has made their lives holy. W long to become like them. This attachment is similar to the attachment one feels for material objects. But the difference is that this attachment takes us toward God because it is directed to a higher ideal. That is why the sage Narada and other teachers have said that desire , greed, anger etc. are to be considered enemies only so long as they are provoked by worldly objects but once their direction is changed, they themselves become aids to God realization.
For the fulfillment of any desire, we would do well to call upon God first, because only He has the power to fulfill all our desires. We may be in the habit of prying to Him with a mind full of desires, but in the process once we fall in love with Him, then we cannot escape any more! Our love with desire gradually change to love without desire. Once this desireless love takes hold of us, there is no fear of a fall. The sage Sandilya characterizes this love in these words;” An intense attachment to God is love-and that si the highest devotion.” The great devotee Prhlada said once.
O Lord, may I think of You with that strong love which the ignorant cherish for the things of the world, and may that love never cease to abide in my heart.’

Home –A Center of Love And Understating
Monday 11-January 2010
Home is a centre for understanding, leading to success, health and happiness, Healthy growth of every member of a family depends on mutual understanding tolerance and avoidance of friction.
All of us seek happiness but most of us do not realize that home is the centre to remain happy and make others happy. Effective relationship with every member of the family is the result of peaceful environment maintained through constant dialogue, necessary correction in understanding whenever needed.
If your family is moving in the right direction, you would be able to perform your work peacefully and gracefully. That is the inseparable relationship between life at home and work at office. When the mind is disturbed at home, the work at office suffers and vice versa. It is , therefore, very important to maintain peaceful atmosphere both at home and office. One has to work effectively to promote healthy culture at both places.
It is better for the family members to get together once a day preferably at the same time. It helps very much, if the members of the family eat together or pray together once a day. Is it not true that a family which prays together stays together?
Sparing time for children is as important as any other aspect of life. Growing children, particularly teenagers, do need guidance and love. They should also be carefully about the friends they make, the movies they see and the books they read. Elders should take them into confidence, understand their problems and try to solve them. With love and compassion. They do need guidance to avoid possible pitfalls or mistakes leading to serious results. They will help youngsters to think, understand and lead life in the right direction.
Between husband and wife., there should be a loyal and dependable understanding. Each one should endeavour to sustain the healthy values and principles of his or her spouse leading to peace progress and success. It is said that happy family is the result of loving heart and attitude of tolerance. This relationship must be nurtured at all stages of life. Both the spouses must communicate with each other and solve problems mutually. They have to complete the task cheerfully maintaining the dignity , discipline in the family.
One has to clearly explain his or her position with love and clarity. With willingness to communicate, understand the viewpoint of the spouse, any problem can be solved in a short time. One has to take care of the physical, mental and social needs of the spouse. It is also necessary to sustain values and respect will surely lead to purposeful, peaceful, healthy and happy environment at home and office. (Courtesy Wisdom)

Education
Education is not how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It is being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don’t
Be civil to all; sociable to many; familiar with few; friend to one; enemy to none.
Doing good to others is not a duty. It is a joy for it increases your own health and happiness.
It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

Quote from Gita
It is said that Sri Krishna gave to Duryodhas eleven units of his army before the battle started. Duryadhana thought, “ I could not get Sri Krishna on my side. Well , what does it matter? His energy cannot equal the energy of eleven army units!” But just the opposite proved to be true in the battlefield. Sri Krishna’s energy and perseverance, his infinitely resourceful power in moments of crisis, his fiery and energizing words in the darkness of utter dependency, and his uncommon cheerfulness and tranquil mind in the shadow of death and in the midst of the defeat of his own people-al these qualities made him as powerful as al the great warriors from both sides put together what to speak of eleven of his own army units!

Meditation
Monday 23 November-2009
Meditation
First Step in the Discipline of the Mind
It will be seen that the first step in the discipline of indolence. This is the easiest step, and until it is perfectly accomplished the other steps cannot be taken. The clinging to indolence constitutes a complete barrier to the Path of Truth. Indolence consists in giving the body more ease and sleep than it requires, in procrastinating, and in shirking and neglecting those things which should receive immediate attention. This condition of laziness must be overcome by rousing up the body at an early hour, giving it just the amount of sleep it requires for complete recuperation and by doing, promptly and vigorously, every task and duty to matter how small, as it comes along.
Work done is true sprit of mediation
Who is a free man?
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool;
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental;
To reach out for another is to risk involvement;
To express your feelings is t risk exposing your true self,
To love is to risk not being loved in return;
To live is t risk dying;
To believe is to risk despair;
To try is to risk failure;
But , risk we must, because the graters hazard in life is to risk nothing;
The people who risk nothing , do nothing, have nothing and are nothing;
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn , feel, change, grow , love or life
Chained by their attitudes they are salves; they have given away their freedom.
ONLY THE MAN WHO RISKS IS A FREE MAN.

Remedy!
For every worry under the sun,
There is a remedy, or there is none
If there is one, try and find it
If there be none , never mind it.
Good characters gives a man strong personality
Personality includes a man’s character, intelligence, noble qualities , moral conduct, intellectual attainments, certain striking faculties , special traits or characteristics, bearing countenance, voice, etc. it is the personality that distinguishes one man from another
Good character gives a strong personality to man. People respect such a man. Personality can be developed . the practice of virtues is indispensable .one should try to be always cheerful . you must know how t be behave and adjust yourself to other people . you must talk sweetly and gently . you must be polite , civil and courteous. You must treat, others with respect and consideration. Humility is a virtue that subdues the hearts of others.
Behavior I most important . An arrogant, stubborn and self willed man can never have a strong personality . he is disliked by all. Be not agitate in your speech. Do not become nervous. When you great a person, do not stand erect like the man who holds the gaslight in a marriage procession. Gently bow your head and pay respect.
Quote from Gita
The doer without desire .
Who does not boost of his deed,
Who is ardent , enduring,
Untouched by triumph,
In failure untroubled;
He is a man of sattwa,
The does with desire.
Hot for the prize of vainglory,
Brutal, greedy and foul,
In triumph too quick to rejoice.
In failure despairing.
He is a man of rajas.
The indifferent doer
Whose heart is not in his deed,
Stupid and stubborn,
A chest, and malicious,
The idle lover of delay,
Easily dejected.
He is a man of tams.
Bhagavad Gita.

Are you waiting for your favorite colour?

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool;
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental;
To reach out for another is to risk involvement;
To express your feelings is t risk exposing your true self,
To love is to risk not being loved in return;
To live is t risk dying;
To believe is to risk despair;
To try is to risk failure;
But , risk we must, because the graters hazard in life is to risk nothing;
The people who risk nothing , do nothing, have nothing and are nothing;

When you great a person, do not stand erect like the man who holds the gaslight in a marriage procession. Gently bow your head and pay respect.
Quote from Gita
The doer without desire .
Who does not boost of his deed,
Who is ardent , enduring,
Untouched by triumph,
In failure untroubled;
He is a man of sattwa,
The does with desire.
Hot for the prize of vainglory,
Brutal, greedy and foul,
In triumph too quick to rejoice.
In failure despairing.
He is a man of rajas.
The indifferent doer
Whose heart is not in his deed,
Stupid and stubborn,
A chest, and malicious,
The idle lover of delay,
Easily dejected.
He is a man of tams.
Bhagavad Gita.
