Change Your Attitude For Immense Benefit
Attitude is the way you respond to life each day. It is the way you define and interpret your experiences. Your attitude is the sum total of your beliefs. Assumptions, expectation, and values. It determines the meaning or significance you attach to events and your response to them.
Because of right attitude some people are successful. They have gone through hardships and yet their positive expectations keep retuning to them.
Attitudes is the way we look at the world through our expectations and beliefs. We process thousands of thoughts in a day. According to author Robert Cooper, research suggests every one of our thoughts affect each of our cells. That is why attitude affects productivity.
When our expectations are positive , we are helpful and generous towards others and exercise better judgment in problems solving decision making and creative skills . when our expectation are negative we have less ability to solve problems because we feel insecure and emotionally delicate .
Through the seasons, nature presents us with an infinite variety of attitudes from gloomy mist to glorious sunshine. Our own moods , whether gloomy or bright, always reflect the way we deal with others. By our walk, the way you carry our head and shoulders, and the expressions on your face, your stimulate specific emotional response in others.
Attitude also determines what you “see” and what you ‘hear’. It is like a glass shield around you through which everything must pass, before it reaches you. It, therefore, colours your perception.
How do you develop attitude? Early in life, we imitate the attitude of our parents, teachers, friends and leaders. When we enter adolescences, we absorb the attitude of those we admire or respect.
Later in life , we respond on the basis of our personal values, desires and beliefs.
Fortunately, we never carve our attitude on stone- we can mould and change them almost every day.
How do we develop the attitude we need.
Choose the attitude you want to develop.
Se your goal, Consider where you are, and where you want to be
Write down why you want to change your attitude and steps taken for doing so, including failures and successes.
Visualising . This involves choosing quiet time to relax during which you can imagine demonstration your new attitude.
Self-talking . it is essential for success that one admires oneself from time to time. Doing so it one of the very effective ways of maintaining one’s attitude.
Affirmations can also help to keep your mind on track by not giving room for discouraging negative thoughts.
Amzanig
The pweor of the human mind. Aoccdrnig to rscheearch condnutced at Camabrigde uniervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in what order the ltteers in a word are tpeyed, the only imprmoatnt thing is that the frist and last ltteer be in the rghit oedrer. The rset can be a total mses and you can still raed it wouthit prbelm. This is bcusease the human mind deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe Amzanig?
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
Discrimination
“The good is one thing, the pleasant another; these two, having different objects, chain a man. It is well with him who clings to the good; he who chooses the pleasant, misses his end. “
“The good and the pleasant approach man; the wise goes round about them and distinguishes them. Yea, the wise prefers the good to the pleasant, but the food chooses the pleasant through greed and avarice. “
“Thou, O nachiketas, after pondering all pleasures that are or seem delightful, hast dismissed them all. Thou hast not gone into the road that leadeth to wealth, in which many men sink.”
“Wide apart and leading to different points are these two- ignorance, and what is known as wisdom. I believe Nachiketas to be one who desire knowledge, for even many pleasures did not tear thee away “
“He (the Self) of whom many are not even able to hear, whom many even when they hear of Him do not comprehend; wonderful is a man, when found, who is able to teach Him (the Self); wonderful is he who comprehends Him, when taught be an able teacher ( man of realization).- Katha Upanishad
But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in themorning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
