Living an Effortless Life

Consciously, why would anyone choose to be anything where he has to seek something from someone or something else?
Maybe he seeks out of his helplessness, but consciously, would anyone choose to do this?
Wouldn’t every human being want to be 100% within himself ?
This doesn’t mean you have to become totally self-sufficient. Always, there is interdependence, but within yourself, everything is there; you don’t have to seek anything from outside.
Even someone else’s company is not needed for you. If another person needs it, you will give it, but by yourself, you don’t need anyone’s company.
Only for external things, maybe you will have to go to the world outside. This is ultimate freedom. Spirituality is not to be taken as being only for those who can’t do anything in life.
If you have the strength and the courage to take up anything in the world and do it well, then you might also have the capacity to turn spiritual.
Only if you have the will and ability to do constructive in life can you be fit enough to seek the spiritual. Gautama, for instance, begged only for his food, for the rest, he was self-sufficient.
Others, however, beg for everything else but food. The way we think is the way we become. Whatever you hold as the highest, naturally all your energies get drawn towards that.
Once you achieve that, once inner engineering equips you to live life effortlessly, it will put an end to all your daily struggles.

One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

ARE YOU A CAPABLE PERSON?

When you are a capable person life flows smoothly to get on with any job. Here is a test for you to try. Answer “Yes” or “No”  to the questions before turning to the key at the end.

Are you good at getting on with your work?

Is it your habit to organise the day ahead so that you are never in confusion?

Do you select the essential and do that first

Do you tackle one job at a time, not do a bit of this and a bit of that?

Do you divide long, complicated or monotonous jobs into convenient stages and finish each stage n turn before continuing the next?

Do you finish jobs, not leave them half-done?

Do you take a pride in every thing you do and give it your best?

Do you work at fining the reason for anything going wrong?

Are the setbacks and failures a challenge to you to further effort?

Do you welcome responsibility and being left in charge?

Are you good at helping other people sort out their difficulties and troubles?

Are you good at working with other people and getting them to work with you ?

Are you methodical about handling your correspondence and keeping a record of your financial incoming and outgoings?

Do you know enough about first aid and home nursing to be able to render reliable assistance?

Could yo handle a quarrelsome fellow effectively ?

Count five marks for every “Yes’” A score of 70 plus is good and 60 to 70 satisfactory 50 to 60 may be counted fair but under 50 is poor.

Try being interest if yo want to be a capable person when you are interested, you have the desire to do things and enjoy doing them with other people .

If you do not know what you like doing and have no sense of satisfaction in accomplishment. It is easy to become indifferent to any job and end up incapable of doing anything

Such analysis can direct the mind of man towards his own real nature and towards Him who is his real friend through eternity . Madhvachrya says that though tun universe is made up of three factors –matter, souls and God-still these are independent existences our goal is God. Real happiness and real wisdom, He alone can give . in order to go to Him we must go away from the world. We belong to God and not to matter, since we are spirit. How are we to go to God? This world, this universe, is infinite in every way. Its age is eternal, and its extent is infinite; even the swiftest locomotive engine can neve take me out of space. But in order to go to God, I must go out of the world, because God si extra cosmic. How? Here all Aryan philosophers agree Sri Madava says I am distinct from the world; so I can separate myself from the world, so I can separate myself from it by closing the gateway of my sense. Thus I can go towards God. Let me analyse a portion of the world to find out its nature, for it is like understanding the nature of the ocean by analysing a few drops of its water. Take for instance, the chair before me, it has from, hardness, etc. and form, touch and taste exist so long as there are eyes, skin, and tongue, by which we perceive them. In this way, if the world si full of phenomena, no phenomenon an exist without the corresponding sense of  perception. I too ,just be one of the factors by which all these have come into existence, if I can separate myself in any way from these then the world of phenomena will vanish.

But Madhavachrya also believes in the indestructible nature of phenomenon when he localises them in the eternal and infinite mind of God.

Best Person You can Be

In the beginning, the Pencil Maker spoke to the pencil, saying, “There are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and you will become the best pencil you can be. “

First; you will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone’s hand.

Second; You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but this is required if you are to become a better pencil.

Third; You have the ability to correct any mistakes you might make.

Fourth; The most important part of you will always be what is inside

Fifth. No matter what the condition , you must continue to write You must always leave a clear , legible mark no matter how difficult is the situation.

Promising to remember, the pencil went into the box fully understanding its Maker’s advise.

Similarly , if you remember the following and act accordingly, you will become the best person you can be.

First; you will be able to do many great things, but only if , you allow yourself to be held in God’s hand and allow other human beings to approach you for the many gifts you possess.

Second ; you will experience a painful sharpening from time to time , by going through various problems, but you will need it to become a stronger person.

Third ; You will be able to correct mistakes you might make or grow through them.

Fourth; the most important part of you will always be what is inside.

Fifth; On every surface you walk you must leave you mark . No matter what the situation, you must continue to serve God in everything.

Everyone is like a pencil created by the Maker for a unique and special purpose.

By understanding and remembering this, let us proceed with our life on this earth having a meaningful purpose in our heart and a relationship with God .

Harmony In Family

In the mad rush of our life we forget, as John Howard Payne said. “Amid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, be it ever so humble, there is no place like home”. How true! What strange, compelling magic the simple word ‘home’ possessed! Joyous  and comforting family, the family togetherness. These things have become things of the past.

Now a days we hear as well as watch sitting in our drawing rooms , visuals of violence. Students defiant of teachers and children disrespectful  to elders. It is so disheartening.

We have everything ready made. We share the space under the same roof. But are we living with a feeling of togetherness that leads to inner harmony in an individual which is necessary for the family harmony? After all, at the end only two things matter to man, and they are-affection and understanding of the family . as will Durant said. The family is the nucleoids of civilization’ That is where the values regarding family and society are best inculcated. It is more relevant in modern times than at any other time. We have countless incidences of breaking of relations among the family which ultimately reflects in the thoughts and deeds of an individual.

The best and final panacea for many social maladies of present times lies in the life at home and later in the educational institution where a child is nurtured. All the more, domestica harmony is the principal source of happiness and well being. The mutual love of husband and wife. Of parented and children, of brothers and sisters . they are not only the chief sources of happiness , but the chief safeguards from violence and other kinds of evils.

Again, studying man’s nature, we can see that he cannot but be immortal and eternal. When we study a living being, we study its likes an dislikes. Whatever it dislikes, is unnatural to it. Suppose you take a fish out of water and place it upon the peacock throne of the Emperor Sha ha Jahan. Would the fish be gratified? The fish would rather say, Throw me into a pool of water’ The natural abode of the fish is water and not land. Hence I likes water and dislikes land. Let us take our likes and dislikes. Everyone wishes to be living , not dead. To be happy not unhappy, to be wise , not ignorant or foolish. This clearly indicates that life and not death, happiness and not misery, knowledge and not ignorance, is the essence of our nature . Hence the Rishis of India have written that the should is not transitory, that it does not disappear with the death of the body, that it is naturally blissful. It is Schidananada, eternal, all knowing and all –blissful. This is the nature of the soul. And it has been demonstrated in many other ways. The question arises ; if it is a fact about you are eternal, all knowing and all blissful, how is it that you do not know many thing? You are really eternal, all knowing and blissful, but you have so far forgotten your true Self that you are not able to know it. You identify yourself with the body and believe in our embodied self so much that you never can dream of our infinite Self, you are even disposed to laugh at a man if he tells you that you are limitless. The soul is finite; the body is finite, so when you identify yourself with the body through ignorance , your knowledge, pleasure and life also become finite. If you can separate yourself from your body and mind, then , and not till then, will you be able to realise your true nature. Then you will be able to know all, to possess all, and to realise that everything is within yourself.
