On The Sands of Time
Character was the best qualification
Nobel Laureate Prof C.V Raman was then the Director of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. One day he had to interview candidates for a job in the institute
Among them a young man was unable to give correct answerers to some of his questions. So Raman told him not to entertain hopes of securing the job. The young man left the room with a broken heart. He claimed down the step and stood alone in the waiting room. After some time. Prof. Raman came down. He noticed that the young man was still waiting there. He told him again that he should give up all hops of being taken for the job. The young man humbly replied with folded hands, “Sir, I am only waiting for the office to open. I have been pad give rupees extra by the clerk as fare and daily allowance. And your concentration too will help you to form a clear picture in your mind of the ultimate objective.
Your thinking should be constant and continuous. When you think-on one subject, do not allow other thoughts to enter. When you think of a rose, think of the different kinds of roses only. When you study Gita,Ramayan do not think of your professional problems. Concentration will help you to arrange your thoughts in order and become a rapid thinker.
Think of different items one by one in order . By this practice you will develop organized thinking. Your thinking power will gain strength and force. It will become clear-cut and well defend.
You can also stimulate thinking power by taking part in serous conversation or discussion. Listen to the views of others that will make things clear. Defend your own position so that will drive you to think more clearly and objectively.
Read as many books and magazines as possible. Also read as fast as possible. Then you can use the time save in thinking about what you have read.
Men reached great heightens by seeking to answer questions like why? when? where? who? how? This kind of mental activity spread over a long time will help to improve your thinking power.
Insulting others
A man who insults anyone exhibits his arrogance. The man who allows to be insulted lacks self-respect. A person indulges in insulting when he ants to express his anger and belittle the other person. Insults are also hurled by a person to show his vanity and superiority. There are people who resort to insulting others due to psychological reasons. Insulting another person in anger is the most dangerous passion. Everyone must realize that one must not do unto there what one would not like to be done into him.
No offence
An act done in the right of the exercise of self-defance is no offence under the law.
Reading is the best learning . To follow a great man’s thoughts is the most entertaining of science.
The victories of truth have never been won without risks.
Look before you leap, see before you go.
All Spectacular Success.
All spectacular successes were achieved in little courageous steps taken with self-confidence and faith in the nobility of the final goal chosen.
Determination And Motivation
Desire is the key to motivation, but its determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal- a commitment to excellence that will enable you to attain the success you seek.
Quotes form the Essence of Gita
Suppose I am a student and I have to go abroad for higher studies or for some other good purpose. If a scripture cannot help me in that situation , then what will be my condition? When we look deeply we can see that the scriptures are not at fault. The fault, lies with us. We have completely forgotten how the teachings of the scriptures are not at fault. The fault lies with us. We have completely forgotten how the teachings of the scriptures have to be-and can-be applied in every situation of life. Having thus forgotten it, we now think that to practice true religion we must retire into solitude. Sri Krishna has a different view. On one had , he tells Arjuna,
“You will attain nothing in religious life if you do not fight for the cause of justice.” On the other had, he tells people of a different temperament, like Uddava and others, “Give up everything, go to the Badrikashrama in the mountains a, and meditate with an unwavering mind. Without doing that, you will not attain anything in religious life. It is clear therefore that what the scriptures want to say is this If you really work unselfishly by giving up all fruits of actions, you will be spiritually liberated, no matter where you are.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha
