There are a number of ways for improving your personality.
Laugh as much as you can Laughter is a positive, natural condition which helps to improve respiration, lower blood pressure and tone up the heart.
If you feel sad, cry. Research has shown that tears not only provide stress relief but also helps the body get rid of harmful chemical substances. If you suppress your natural instinct to cry, you are increasing your chances of facing a stress-related disorder.
Anger is a killer. Disease like high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease are all results of uncontrolled anger. Find a positive way such a physical exercise or talking about your problem to release it.
Lack of self-confidence can be very destructive , so build it up. You can do this by imagining that you are creating an advertisement for yourself, writing down all your good qualities. You will be surprised to find how many good qualities you have.
Smile as often as you can. If someone sees you smiling, he will smile back. He would also like your company.
Learn to be courageous. In hospitals, the patients who live longest are the ones who bear their condition with courage. The same is true in life also.
Boredom is one of the biggest killers. Be prepared to take risk and chance to add excitement to your life. If you don’t take risk, you will never know what you can achieve.
Put purpose into life. By adding ambition. Hope and purpose, you will give yourself new powers to fight stress and strain associated with frustration. boredom and pressure.
Get into the habit of following your instincts. Practice first with minor decisions-what to eat and wear. You will be surprised to know the power of you subconscious mind.

Some people appear to think that if they become religious, they would lose all the fun of life. Of course, they have a very funny idea of fun itself, and one might say they have only a vague idea of life too.
That fun alone is real fun which does not make us eventually suffer. At the time of having the so-called fun, we have, no doubt, bodily or sensual pleasure. But that pleasure is deceitful for it hastens the suffering that is inevitable; there fruit of all such fun. These pains and sufferings reach a climax at old age, we are then feeble in body and week in mind, and then death stares us in the face. If we can go out of this life smiling, without regret or remorse, and take the parting in its stride, then alone can we be said to have had real fun in life. But when the laughter and nectar of today turn into the tear and gall of tomorrow. When in passing out of this life we course or weep while other are either indifferent or even have a sigh of relief, then we have had no fun at all. We have only beneath fools of fun.
To those who indulge in that sort of fun, life s only skin deep. And indeed, how deep is the skin?
Those people who think that by becoming religious they will lose the fun of life, have no clear idea about true religion true fun, or true life.

Affirmation and Calmness
Affirmations are a form of positive self programming.

Sri Krishna says that the path of knowledge(samkhya) and the path of detached work(yoga) are not mutually contradictory. Only fools think that they are different. Sri Krishna tells Arjuna that he had not become so competent a student as to give up work altogether. He must reach his goal through doing work. Those whose minds have become totally free from all selfishness by unselfishness doing their duties attain a superconscious state though meditation. Unless Arjuna can do this, there is no point in simply working. Only those who have fully controlled their minds can cross the human boundary on the ladder of spiritual evolution. Different rules apply for those who have reached that state. Krishna tells Arjuna that he should understand this and set himself to work.

The medical officer was testing the water supply to the camp. “What precautions do you take against infection?’ he asked the sergeant in charge.
“Well we boil it first, sir,” the sergeant replied “Good”, “Then we filter it.” “Excellent”.” And then,” said the sergeant, “Just for safety sake, we drink mineral water in the bottle!”

We have to cultivate a yogi’s calmness in the intoxicating battle of life. We must learn to protect ourselves from the reaction which inevitably follows every work we do. Then alone will we be capable of doing something really great and be fit to be called human beings. It is not necessary to explain how often the intoxication of desire-propelled work leads to painful results. How many people sink to the depths of misery because of loss in trade and commerce and are unable to rise again! There are children who destroy their health in their maddened struggle to pass some test. Time and again we even see students commit suicide when they are not able to pass an examination in spite of their best efforts.
It is essential for all-particularly for those with secular responsibilities-to learn how to bring calmness in the midst of the intoxication of work . For these people the only means of progress in all matters, secular and spiritual, is work and work alone. There is no need to imagine that we shall lose our enthusiasm for work we learn how to work calmly; this is proven by Sri Krishna’s life.
Compare the teachings of the Gita with Sri Krishna’s entire life and you will see not one iota of discrepancy. Although he never works for himself, his enthusiasm for work surpassed the enthusiasm of all others put together. See him while playing in Vrindaban; see him in the royal courts of Mathur and Dwaraks; see him at the time of the Yadus’ destruction; see him on the battlefield of the Kauravas and the Pandavas; everywhere we see in his heart an extraordinary calmness and peace along with tremendous enthusiasm for work.
Life Requires Humility
A great professor who had mastered all the branches of learning decided he needed time to relax. He hired a boatman to take him to a nearby island. As the boatman to take him to a nearby island. As the boatman rowed away from shore, the professor asked him what kind of education he had received.
“My father was a poor man”, the boatman said, ‘and could not afford to send me to school. I can not read or write. I am just a simple boatman.”
