Heaven or Hell

Heaven or Hell
An old man who had spent a life time of sins by cheating and thriving was on his death bed.
The prospect of death and his punishment that would be meted out after life time frighten even the hardest of hearts. This old man too became frightened and started praying to God for forgiving his sins and promising to be have better in his next life.
The cries of this old man drew the attention of an angel who was passing by and attracted her towards him. Coming near the dying man, the angel asked him “Why do you cry like this?”
The saying man told the angel faithfully about his sinful apst and his fears about the future.
The angel asked; “Can you think of some good acts you might have performed which may help you?”
Cried the dying man; “Not one that I can think of , for, whatever I did, was found. How I wish I had done a few noble acts at least!”
Angel, “Now, think of your childhood, when possibly you must have done some good thing!”
The old man thought hard and said; “ I am ashamed to say that it was a good act. When I was a child. I went without food for some days. At last I found a piece of bread which I wanted to keep for two days. At that time a poor man who was no better than my self looked at my bread and pleaded with me to share it with him. I agreed and parted with half of it to that friend. Ca I call this a good deed?’
Angel ; “Do not fear, it is an excellent act. Hold on to it and you will cross the other life with freedom from punishment.”
This assurance soothed the old man and he died peacefully. The soul of the old man was carried to heaven, on the life provided by the bread piece.
Now, even as the old man’s soul started ascending to heaven on the bread piece. Other souls of equal character which were departing from the world at about the same time started clanging to the bread piece which was carrying the old man to heaven!
When a number of them jumped on it, the old man got furthered lest the bread piece should fall down and endanger his chances. Annoyed at that, he shouted to the other souls which had started crowding on his bread piece. “Be gone all of you, the bread piece is mine!
Hardly had he uttered these words when the bread piece crumbled and the old man along with other who had crowded on to his , fell down crashing into the suffering of hell.
One small deed of real charity had been able to overcome a life time of evil deeds, but an act of selfishness spoiled even that slender foothold.
People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.
How to get Sense of Fulfilment From work.
In one from or the other, we have to perform action/work during our lifetime. In this industrialised society, our man motive for work is to earn money. This motive becomes the driving force for all that we do and in course of time our inner life becomes unrefined, with this total dependency on returns for our work.
There are some people who love work for tis own sake. They get pleasure just doing the work. They get a sense of fulfilment from work. To them, returns from work become secondary. A pat on the back, a work of acknowledgement or appreciation may be all they looking for. A mother doing incessant work for her family, for her children, has this kind of attitude to work. A mother/father with an inborn sense of duty performs their actions without an eye on returns.
A student who is studying is not paid for his work. There may be at the back of his mind, plans for future prospects, for a future career. But for the time being , he has to be absorbed and devoted to his studies. He has to study. with a sense of duty . with this attitude, he can over come his likes and dislikes and pore deeply into his studies with total devotion.
But what then will be the motive to transform all our actions into kamayoga, the yoga of selfless action, or work done with a sense of duty.
Work done with this attitude comes out better . We feel we have mo energy for work. Work gives satisfaction, we learn a lot from it. Gradually, this attitude helps us to see the large process of life. Life becomes richer. We see much more behind ordinary, normal things of life, which we had taken from granted. We develop self esteem. Our self worth does not come from what return we get from the work, but from the feeling that we have done the work to the best of our ability. This enrichment of our inner life through work/action is called Karmayaoga. Courtesy ‘PARTHA’

Don’t go through life too fast
Monday 19–July- 2010
Don’t go through life too fast
A young and successful officer was traveling through a neighborhood street, going too fast in his brand new Jaguar car.
As his car was passing, a brick smashed into its side door! He put on the breaks and moved backward to the spot where the brick had been thrown. He then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest boy and pushed him up against the parked car. He then shouted, “What was that all about and who are you? That is a new car and it will cost a lot of money to repair the damage . Why did you do it?”
The young boy was making an apology, “Please , Sir, I am sorry but I did not know what else to do”, he pleaded, “ I threw the brick because none else would stop”, with tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the boy pointed to a spot. “It is my brother”, he said. ‘He rolled off the edge and fell out of his wheelchair. I could not lift him up”. Now weeping the boy asked the surprised officer. “Would you please help me to get him back into his wheelchair? He is hurt and he is too heavy for me”.
Moved beyond words, the officer hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair. He then took out handkerchief and cleaned the cuts with care. A quick look told him everything was going to be all right.
“Thank you, May God bless you”, the grateful boy told the officer who was a stranger to him.
Too much upset , the officer simply, watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the path along the side of the street toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the car. The damage was easily seen, but the officer never took the trouble to repair the slight dent made in the side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of his message.
“Don’t go through life so fast that someone his to throw a brick at you to get you attention!”
God speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don’t have time to listen . he ahs to throw a brick at us. –(Courtesy :”Hypnotique)
Go not to the temple
Go not to the temple to put flowers upon the feet of God, first fill your own house with the fragrance of Love. God not to the temple to light candles before the altar of God, first remove the darkness of sin from your heart. Go not to the temple to bow down your head in prayer, first learn to bow in humility before your fellowmen. Go not to the temple to pray on bended knees, first band down to lift someone who is downtrodden. Go not to the temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins, first forgive from your heart those who have sinned against you. Rabindranath Tagore
Exercise patience with others.
In times of stress our impatience surfaces. We may say words we don’t really intend to say. Or we may communicate through emotion rather than words . we then suffer from hurt feelings and strained relationships. Patience is the real expression of faith , hope and love. Life provides abundant changes to practice patience.
If men will see their own faults as they see the faults of others, verily evil would come to an end in this world.
Right Thinking
Systematically cultivate the habit of right thinking. Substitute good thought for evil thought and the later will be eliminated. Do not compromise with any kind of wrong thought. The only way to get rid of it effectively is through the power of right thinking. If it is a desirable thing to think good thoughts for sometime, it is desirable to think good thoughts all the time. It is just as easy to think right thoughts as to think wrong thoughts. True independence and self-confidence are based upon right thinking.
If you are headed in the right direction, each step , no matter how small, is getting you close to your goal.
Tailor or Lawyer
The employer called his secretary: ”Here ,Meena, look at this letter. I cannot make out whether it is from my tailor or my lawyer! They are both name d Sudhir”.
The note read: “I have begun your suit. Ready to be tried on Thursday Sudhir.
Quote from True Religion always Help
Now to meet the requirements of life in the world, we need to earn money. And in this too, religion is our friend. Even today, honesty is the best policy in the world. He who earns his bred through honest labour may not amass huge wealth, but he will not be dogged by anxiety and fear or exposure. He will have an inner strength which cannot be purchased with money. Those who earn cheap, money, unrighteous money ,not only constantly face their risk of exposure, but before they realize it, the money itself may have vanished and all further avenues of earning closed to them.
A man with a sense of honor and dignity knows that it is the man who makes the money, not money the man. And this sense of dignity is more abiding if it springs from religion.
One without such a background thinks that it is money that makes the man and hence will do anything for money. Al such will eventually suffer.
A healthy body can produce a healthy spirit. – Old Roman saying.

Selfishness is alien to the bee!
Man has a lot to learn form the bee . it lives for the collective good of the hive. Selfishness is alien to it. Between the bee and the housefly there is a world of difference. The latter now sits on pure edibles and next on filth. Whereas the bee alternates between its hive and fresh flowers. Nowhere else does it land. It is ever industrious . at any moment it offers its life in defense of the hive.

Only one finger
“Twist someone round one’s finger” is an expression meaning that you handle or manage with skill a person and get him to do what you want him to do . it owes its origin to horse riding . A good rider can use only one finger to control the reins of the horse and get the animal to move left or right!

2. I choose to continue all my efforts and enterprises. I know that patience and persistence can achieve the unbelievable. Water wears away stone-so does persistence. I will persevere until I succeed.
3. Today, I recall that many of the great achievements and discoveries of mankind have been due to persistence. I am inspired by the persistence of dedicated people like Edison and Madame Curie.
4. Today I am nearer to my goals than eve before. I will not give up my efforts until I achieve my target. I dedicate myself to finish my commitments.

Live Within Today
How a walking trip always seems shorter if we concentrate, not on the total distance to our destination, but just the distance to the next milepost. In the same way, we should concentrate on living within today. Then better tomorrows will certainly follow.
How To Achieve Social Success?
No man is an island. If we find that we are one cut off from others due to reservedness and shyness, it is time to do something to correct it.
Basically man seeks the company of his fellows. Loneliness means a two-fold loss; you lose the delight social contact can give; others in turn lose what you have to other to offer.
Implement the following suggestions;
If mixing with others is a problem for you, it may be you have never valued yourself sufficiently. Probably have underestimated yourself and your achievements. You will feel that you have nothing to offer.
Stop thinking negatively about yourself. Realize that you are worthy to make useful contribution in life.
Appreciate your talents and skills, your quality of mind and temperament. Realize that you have more talents than you think and if you stop underestimating yourself, opportunities will arise to encourage you. Other people also will be glad to accept you and value your talents.
Realize that there is no benefit to allow the unpleasant experiences of childhood to disturb your present life. Leave them behind.
Think positively. It will help you to promote good physical and mental health. With good health you will have more enthusiasm for better living with benefit of cheerfulness and self confidence.
Thinking positively about your friends and well wishers will open your eyes ot their good qualities and merits. This will enable you to relax and maintain happy relationship.
There is a possibility of being preoccupied with a sense of your importance. This may lead to the freezing of pleasant conversation and all joy. Change this attitude.
Watch out for the funny side of an incident and be prepared to share the joy with a family member or a friend.
Laugh as often as possible when you bear a good joke and this will help you to erase your self-consciousness. At least smile when you cannot laugh . It is not possible to be tense when you wear a pleasant smile.
Make others feel good and happy. Take care to make others feel wanted and important.
Be generous and gracious in your conversation. Speak a word of encouragement and offer genuine praise. While making others feel good, you will feel yourself good.
Encourage others to speak about themselves, their achievements. These are sure ways of making others feel good.
Abraham Lincoln said that every person he met was his superior in someway. It holds good to all of us and if we make others know to recognize their superiority in certain things they would be surely delighted. This is because a human heart craves for recognition and praise.
Show your friendliness when you meet new persons. It would be beneficial for you to foster a spirit of good will.
Take initiative in greeting people by shaking hands and in opening conversation.
Always find opportunities to help people in small ways wherever possible.
Remembering names is a good habit in showing friendliness because since a person’s name to him is the sweetest sound.
Dressing well and appropriately for an occasion will make you more acceptable to others.
By implementing these suggestions , you are sure to be at ease during social occasions and friendly meetings . Everyone will naturally look forward to, to meet you
Ideas last after man is gone
Ideas cross mountains, borders and seas. They go anywhere a man can go and last after his gone. Ideas are in destructive because of their very nature. There is no defense on earth against them. –Walter Goldstein.
Friend
A friend is a push when you are stopped, a guide when you are searching, a song when you are glad, a word when you are lonely, and a smile when you are sad.
Quote from True Religion always helps
Thus we see true religion begins to mould a human life from the very conception . it is not theory but a spiritual fact and genetic fact too. Necessarily, absence, of true religion also plays a negative part, which becomes obvious in social maladies like juvenile delinquency. Those who do not want to be the future parents of ruffians, will have to open themselves up to the creative influence of true religion, Children born of truly pious parents in a spiritual home are born with certain awakened mental powers which others born under other situations will not have.

How to Relax Our Mind

Monday 7–June- 2010
How To Relax Our Mind?
A mind filled with tension and unhappiness leads to negative thoughts. Such a mind creates problems to oneself and others.
In contrast, a mind which is relaxed and happy comes from positive thoughts. Transforming negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Is the hall mark of wisdom. It is well illustrated by Gautam Buddha, in an anecdote.
Once Buddha was addressing a large gathering of disciples. During the discourse , one person, out of jealousy, abused Buddha. Buddha Lovingly replied. “People are waiting to listen to my discourse in the neighboring village; please do come tomorrow. “
The man was astonished. He asked Buddha, “Are you not hurt by my harsh words?’ Buddha replied, “ In order to hurt me, you should have met me before my Enlightenment. Just as fire loses its potency when it comes into contact with water, your words, even though full of fury, lost their sharpness when they are hurled at me now”.
This is the positive thought center one has to awaken Before Buddha’s Enlightenment everything and everybody hurt him. But after he attained illumination the negative thought center has changed completely. There is yet another story that inspires us into a different thought process.
Once a father felt disturbed when his son made noise. He thought of method to calm his son. He tore a world map into piece and asked his son to join them. To his surprises , the son came back with the world map neatly pasted, in a few minutes. “How did you do this?’ asked the father. The son replied, “ Behind the world map, there was a picture of a man and I could join them easily”. Here the father who was not aware of son’s potential was finally led to find it. It is an awakening for the father that he could channalise his son’s energy and intelligence for a positive cause.
Let us change ourselves. The world will change by itself. At the same time, let us not get lost in changing only ourselves and forget to include others in our growth. We live in an “ I and You” world.
Think over on the following .
To a question, “Who is flying the kite”?
A boy replies. ‘I am flying the kite.”
The tail of the kite says, “ I am flying the kite”
The string says, “ I am flying the kite.”
Voice of the Lord said, “Oh! Children . We are flying the kite”.
Hence , the Vedic prayer says, “Let us all be Enlightened”.
We can relax in the world only when we teach ourselves and others to strengthen our strengths and weaken our weakness.
Whatever be our weakness, if we identify it , the negative thought centre in us will lose its grip on us.
Life is both fair and unfair. Learn to be a good finder. Studies show that happy people are good finder and also have the courage to counter unfairness.
Let our goodness come from our strengths, not from weakness.
How To Overcome Worry
Happiness is the goal of every human being. But many find that they are often troubled worry. “What shall I do if this happens?” How can I manage to deal with that?” The thought of meeting him terrifies me”. These are some thoughts that chase the mind of the victim of worry.
As long as we continue to worry, happiness escapes. If we continues to worry, happiness escapes. If we are worried, it shows in our face. People shun those who are worried with their won problems.
When you are worried to face a situation. “Be prepared for the worst that can possibly happen” and then improve on the worst. You can improve on the worst by analyzing the facts and arriving at a decision to act on it.
Suppose you are a young person employed in a job you do not like. Besides being unhappy, you are worried about your future. You are free to leave the job and try your best to secure another job.
If you stay where you are, you save yourself the trouble of looking for another job but you must suffer a life of dissatisfaction. If you move, you stand a chance of getting into a satisfying job with better prospects.
The advice that one should change his job is more suited to a younger man. The older man, with the best part of his working life behind him, may not be able to start again at the bottom in something new. Even though he dislikes the job, he must stick to it. Where this is the case, the problem can still be solved by changing the attitude.
There are many such problems in human relations that can be solved by seeing them in a different perspective. Worries caused by misunderstandings between friends, workers and managements, husbands and wives can all be overcome in this way.
“Getting it of your chest” is another method . Pouring our troubles into the ear of a sympathetic listener is a sound method. The pity of it is that there are not more people willing to listen . when we consult a psychologist, he acts as a sympathetic listen in a professional way. But anyone who is sympathetic to care and listen is performing psychotherapy for the troubled person.
In certain cases, where a frustrating situation cannot be altered, one needs to compensate for the frustration. This means that one should seek to achieve success in other aspects of life. Then the lack of success in the frustrating aspect will not matter much.
For example, a person who is frustrated by distasteful work which he cannot leave, might turn his attention to cultivating adequate social life, sports or recreation and so on.
When we cannot change the worrying situation, let us avoid it as much as possible. Do not think about your unpleasant work when you are away from it. If an unpleasant task lies ahead required to do it. Do not attempt to do today what must wait until tomorrow. Be content to live one day at a time.
As self is the root cause of all strife and suffering so love s the root cause of all peace and bliss.

On Being Beautiful
I read that Ponce de Le’on once searched for the Fountain of Youth and Beauty in Florida. But you will never find true beauty anywhere in the world as easily as you will find it in your own backyard; or more specifically, inside yourself.
If you are resentful, full of hatred, envy, jealousy, and conceit, chances are you will look ugly to others and to yourself even if you are physically attractive. External beauty is important, and we should try to be physically attractive as long as possible. Still young people must learn to realize that inner beauty is far more important than external beauty, because we get older whether we like it or not, but inner beauty can stay with us even at an advanced age.
What is inner beauty? Sharing your happiness and good fortune with others; accepting yourself for what you are, not trying to be someone else; forgiving others and yourself for errors that happened yesterday; seeing the good in yourself and in others and adjusting yourself to realities; longing for the better ‘you’ inside yourself and inside others and searching everyday for self-respect and the respect of others. These are the qualities that will give you everlasting inner beauty that will make you feel more beautiful and look more beautiful. This is the kind of beauty anyone can achieve at any age.
Today’s Determination
The way you view the day ahead on getting up in the morning has very much to do with your chances of success and happiness. So start right now with the following determinations:
A new day lies before me. I may be happy or miserable but I shall choose the former.
Regardless of the circumstances. I see myself relaxed at all times, to overcome all difficulties.
Today I shall make it a point to be cheerful, looking for the pleasant and beautiful, to be thankful for the countless benefits and comfortable living.
Today I resolve to live it with zeal, and to make it pleasurable for myself and others.
I determine to meet today’s problems as a challenge. I take up my responsibilities with cheerfulness and enthusiasm.
Think and Talk about good things.
When you talk about your troubles, your ailments, your diseases, your hurts, you give longer life to what makes you unhappy. Talking about your grievances merely adds to those grievances. Think and talk only about the good things that add to your enjoyment of your work and life. If you don’t talk about your grievances, you will be delighted to find them disappearing.
The most unhappy of all men is he who believes himself to be so.
We always respect the opinion of others when it helps to affirm ours.

He will have an inner strength which cannot be purchased with money. Those who earn cheap money, unrighteous money, not only constantly face the risk of exposure, but before they realize it, the money itself may have vanished end all further avenues of earning closed to them .
A man with a sense of hounour and dignity knows the at it is the man who makes the money not money the man. And this sense of dignity is more abiding if it springs from religion.
One without such a background thinks that it is money that makes the man and hence will do anything for money. All such will eventually suffer.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Get Rid of The Cobwebs of Your Mind
Monday 22 –February- 2010
Get Rid of The Cobwebs of Your Mind
Cobwebs are suggestive of age and disuse. We often hear people say, ‘get rid of the cobwebs of the mind.’ ‘Cobwebs stand for old fashioned ideas and prejudices that prevent progress. The saying calls one to shed old fashioned and outdated ideas and practices that hamper progress. To do things as they have always been done before is not always the best way of doing them. In the light of later experience, it proves wrong.
Many firms have struggled to carry on the old traditions initiated by the founder. This is in true respect to the principle that’ what was good enough for me”. While doing so they watched the businesses decline. So it requires someone with a more alert and more modern outlook to find a better line of thought. One must have the courage to introduce new ideas. If you ask a retiring person what he thinks of some new invention or changes, he disapproves. It is difficult to persuade a man to change his outlook on life or business, but not impossible. Such a person needs guidance. We must convince him that it is of no use denying the demands of the modern age we live in and work in. as the world progresses we must be able to find our place in the scheme of things, step-by-step.
One must not rest satisfied having achieved a little, but be determined to achieve more. Never mind what may or may not have been done in the past. Keep an open mind and bring a fresh outlook to make sure of progress.
Dusty desks and dusty minds! They both need cleaning and refreshing. No one can work comfortably in a closed room. If you are conscious of cobwebs, get rid of them from your mind. They hold you down, narrow your outlook and prevent you from making the most of life.
Success
When we focus our mind with single-pointed attention on a particular object-when we put all our energies into acquiring it-then without doubt, success is guaranteed and we will attain what we wish to achieve.
Lengthening My Nights
“Lazy fellow”, father said to his playful song, “Why do you sleep so much during the day? Life is short and by sleeping you are making your days shorter”.” Don’t worry dad-I will make up by lengthening my nights.” son replied.
At an infinite rate
Experience is a jewel, and it needs be so, for it is often purchased at an infinite rate.
A Wise Man
A Learner learns by making mistakes. A wise Man learns form the mistakes of others. A Fool never learns from his own mistakes, or from the mistakes of others.
Never too busy to be kind
The happiest are those . I find, Who stop to do the little things; Never too busy to be kind, Rewarded by the joy it brings.
The road to success is full of women pushing their husbands along.
To err is human; to blame is on the other party is politics.
What is your phone Number?
The girl asked her lover, “Darling if we get engaged will you give me a ring?” Sure”, replied he lover, “What is your phone number?’
I hope you will keep yours,
A man received a letter from a kidnapper. The letter said, “If you don’t promise to send us Rs 60,000, we promise you we will kidnap your wife.” The poor man wrote back, “I am afraid I cannot keep my promise but I hope you will keep yours.”
A heart without honest
Four things are empty-a head without brains a wit without judgment, a heart without honesty, and a purse without money.
Quote from The Essence of the Gita
This is what happens to those who have realized the Self through either knowledge or devotion. Even while working, they are able to see themselves as different from one who is working. They are like ripe coconuts; the kernel within has been separated from the shell. Shake the coconut and hear the sound! We, in contrast, are like tender coconuts-the kernel and the shell are closely bound to one another. A blow on the shell affects the kernel too. We become” ripe” through the practice of Karma Yoga. As in a ripe coconut, our “;kernel and shell’ get separated. The Self gets separated from the mind, intellect, ego, sense organs and the body. It then lives blissfully in its own true nature.
Having discarded all external coverings, the Self is able to stand by itself. Not to speak of the waking state , even in sleep the illumined person sees his or her own body as if ti were someone else’s , as if someone else were sleeping. The poet-saint Ramparasad sang in Bengali;
Sleep has left me, no more shall I sleep.
In the state of Yoga, I am awake.
Her mystic sleep ; to Her have I returned
And have put my sleep to sleep!
This is the state in which the illumined ones lives; they can understand perfectly the meaning of this song. The more selfless our work is , the more our I-consciousness gradually shifts away from the body and the senses, and come to rest in the Self. We then experience the state described in the song above.

Common Bond
Monday 8t –February- 2010
Common Bond
Terence, who was born a slave and made something of himself in Rome twenty-one centuries ago, said this. “I am a man nothing that concerns mankind is alien to me”. He was a comedian and was the first to proclaim the principle of common kinship in man.
Whether he is a black, red, brown or white , whether his language is different from yours whether he is rich or poor , whether he is a slave or free, whether this appearance is different form your whether his thoughts about life are different from yours, you have one common bond with an other person in the Universe.
The suffering, the sorrows, the greed, the despair, the loneliness and emptiness, the insecurity and uncertainly, the doubt and fear are the same. We all suffer the same. But there is a far greater bond that can hold us tougher. The faith and hope fortitude and persistency , smiles and laughter, understanding and courage, self respect and self-acceptance, confidence and encouragement, we can give each other in times of crises and in times of peace, seeking peace of mind. This is the greatest bond of all to hold us together as we struggle in the slow evolution form hatred, to tolerance, to love.
At no time in history has the call of unity of all people been greater then now. In this time of agonizing wars, in this time of nuclear weapons that threatens human existence. I believe that human understanding and sympathy. I believe that human encouragement and dignity will hold us together for a better world.
Sense of Self-Worth
Without a personal philosophy, a strong perception of who you are and what you stand for, you get buffeted around by every person, message, idea and event that comes down the road. You will find yourself running off in all directions at once. Instead of focusing on important problems .
The person who stands out in the crowd demonstrates that he has his own set of values and has a strong sense of self-worth. While the winds of conflicting idea blow some people away., and the tides of various fads(crazy ideas) wash others away, he will stand firm . and that is a big part of being smart and to get ahead and stay ahead.
Thoughts And Aspiration
You cannot get back yesterday. You are not sure of tomorrow. Today is yours to make whatever you want.
Let me be as good a I can. But never feel that I am superior to others. Let me never forget that the others are always better than I am.
You are not the body! You are the immortal soul within! There fore, do not become a slave of the body. Do not keep running after shadow shapes that come and go!
It is vital that we cultivate the healing habit of silence in this age of noise and ceaseless activity.
In prayer , we talk to God so much that we fail to hear His Voice. Learn to be still-and you will hear His Voice!
God is the Life of our life. He s the Breath of our breath. He is the Universal Self which is in each one of us. How can I get away from my true self?
Our life is shaped by our attitude . If you start complaining, there is so much to complaining. There is so much to complain about. It is the attitude that counts.
Enthusiasm is the greatest asset you can possess-for it can take you further than money power or influence.
Do not commit the sin of harboring an uncharitable thought against a brother or of slandering anyone behind his back.
Our thoughts are all-powerful. How many of us can really control them?
Miracles do happen in the live of individuals who lay their trust in God!
No one else is to blame for your present condition. You have built it with your own thoughts and desires. Generated in the near or distant past.

Quote from The Essence of Gita
I had read a story in my childhood. It was entitled .”The Difference between Having and Not Having Eyes.” This is how the story goes; One day two men went for a walk in an open field. One of them returned disgusted having seen nothing interesting during his walk that day. But his companion returned with great joy after collection many new herbs, examining the fertility of the land, and filling his pockets with different types of stones. Both of them had gone for a walk in the same field. The only difference was that the second man knew how to use his eyes.
