Outperform with Communication Skills

Efficacious and powerful communication proficiencies are fundamental to success in many phases of life. Efficient communication helps us to understand a person or situation and empowers us to solve differences, erect reliance and respect, and originate atmosphere where imaginative ideas, problem-solving, affection and caring can flourish.

Effective communication skills help us to connect better with members of family , friends and co-workers . many jobs require strong communication skills and socially , people with improved communication skills usually enjoy better inter-personal associations with friends and family.

It is not secret that good leaders are also good communicators. the best leaders have learned that effective communications is as much about accuracy as the words they speak and write . Unquestionably, communications and leader ship are intricately knotted.

How can we inspire, energize, or guide others if we do not communicate in a clear, credible, candid way…!?

Most people take their interpersonal communication skills for granted until there is a breakdown in communication. Poor communication skills make accomplishing both personal and professional tasks and building relationship more difficult to accomplish.

While effective communication is a learned skill, it is more effectual when it is spontaneous rather than methodic. It takes time and effort to develop communication skills and to become a proficient communicator. the more effort and practice we put in the more instinctive and natural our communication skills will become . Therefore, one has to cultivate below mentioned skills to have strong communication capability.

Ø  Learn to listen.
Evaluating another person’s feelings, not just the meaning of the words, can help us to understand what they actually mean. Grasping the feeling behind the words that are coming out of the mouth of the other person will enable us to respond better and address those moods. While listening, we should focus on the speaker and show our interest.

Ø  Empathize
Empathy is attempting to see things from the point of –view of others. When communicating with others. We should not be biased. Instead view circumstances and responses from the other person’s perception.

Ø  Encourage
We should offer words and actions of encouragement , as well as praise to others. We should make other people feel welcome, wanted, valued and appreciated in our communication.

Ø  Keep it simple

We should not beat around the bush and confuse clarity with rudeness instead of saying the same thing from three different angles, we should be very clear in sending across the message in a few words as possible. Perhaps this was the inspiration behind the character limit of Twitter.

Ø  Admire

One of the best ways to instantly connect with people is to admire them. If being too direct is not proper. We should indicate a few indirect statements here and there. either approach can be equally as potent because everyone reacts well to approbation.

Ø  Smile

When we smile at people, we communicate that we like them and their presence brings us happiness. Smiling at them will cause them to subconsciously want to smile back at us which will instantaneously build rapport between the two of us.

Ø  Eye contact

Eye contact communicates to the others that we are not only interested in them and what they have to say, but that we are also trustworthy. As a result, people will naturally want to pay more attention to us and what we have to say.

Ø  Use humour.

Laughing can help relieve stress and anxiety. We should not be sacred to be clever or funny, but humour should be appropriate to the situation. Only then we will be perceived as more charismatic.

Ø  Prepare

We should prepare well before we communicate. This may not hold true for our day-to day communications but if defiantly holds true for even moderately important communications

Ø  Mind the say-do gap

Our behavior is our single greatest mode of communication, and it must be congruent with what we say. If our actions do not align with our words, there is trouble. and it can turn into big trouble if not corrected fast and genuinely. Rule of thumb:  it is better to say nothing or delay our communication until we are sure that our actins will ring true.

To conclude, if we take the time to develop these communication skills, we will dramatically  improve our ability to connect with people from al walks in life. As Lee Laccoca rightly said. “ You can have brilliant ideas, but if you cant get them across your ideas wont get you anywhere”. Communication skills lead to new opportunities. Our entire life will go much smother if we take the time to improve the way we interact with others by developing better communication skills. This ability will open up an abundance of new openings that would not have been available otherwise. That is the sovereignty of effective communication skills. Courtesy wisdom

Quote from true Charm and power of Vedanta

According to all the great schools of Vedanta the soul of man is pure by nature, and religion does not signify the super-addition of anything to it by an outside agency. It is, as Swami Vivekananda puts it, the manifestation of the Divinity already in man “As dirt cannot wash of dirt, so the constant thought of sin cannot remove sin. The realization of man’s true nature and its relation to the Divine is the surest way to freeing oneself from sin and it’s not-cause, ignorance. This is why the Vedanta stresses the potential Divinity of man, and ever enjoying on the aspirant to remember and realize it. Courtesy essential of spiritual life

But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Fearlessness

Monday, March 16, 2015
Fearlessness

Courage is another word for fearlessness. It does not mean a blind rush into danger; it means assess the danger and conquering the fear it produces. The ability to bear pain in order to bring relief to others is the first sign of the brave.
Our history is replace with instances of bravery. We had our brave people like Jhansi rani Lakshmi Bai, kittor chennamma, ‘Shivaji, Guru Gobind Sing. Ahalya Bai and others. Recently we have seen the bravery of our soldiers in the Kargil war. We are proud of them and we admire their valor. The government awards given to children for bravery every years shows that there is no dearth of bravery n this land.
Courage could be physical or even moral,. Courage can be imparted by spirited words. When your friend is depressed or in sorrow or afraid of someone you can uplift his spirits and infuse courage in him by your words.
In the Mahabharata war. Arjuna felt faint hearted on seeing Bhisma and Drona in the battle field. Lord Krishna was Arjuna’s  Charioteer. He infused courage n him and advised him to give up cowardice and fight. That portion of Mahabharata forms the famous Bhagavad Gita. Krishna’s inspired woes gave tremendous courage to Arjuna and he has later able to win the war.
My dear children, there are two types of strength. One is physical and the other is mental. For Bravery  depends more on mental strength than on the physical strength, Gandhi , was not a physically well –built person . But is mental strength was enormous. He was so brave that he became  unquestionable leader. We owe our freedom to such kind of leaders
At home you are afraid of certain thins like darkness. Thieves and so on. Drive out that fear from the mind and be bold. In the beginning it will be difficult, but after sometimes, you will find that you do not fear for anything.
You should be brave when injustice is done to someone. You should raise your voice and defend the innocent
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
The origin of the universe is a mystery . no one knows  how and when the cosmos came into existence. It is only through conjunctures, logical or otherwise, that people try to explain the beginning of creation. There are sages who are of the view that there is no beginning at all to time. It just exists without beginning and without an end. As is the time, so is the space infinite and we cannot say when and where and how the Cain of cause and effect commenced it too is beginning less and endless. And all this is known and yet unknown . God is so knowing the latter three but not God who is no other then Truth. And this unknown and unknowable God manifests as the cosmos and its components. While everything and everyone is a manifestation of God, in the best of everything and everybody God is more perceptible manifest and in the Vibbooti yoga of the Gita. Sri Krishna declares  that the best of everything is indeed Himself.
Vasuki among the snakes. Uchaasiarva among the horses , Iravatam among the elephants, Prhalada aong the daityas and Sri Rama among the wielders of weapons indeed exhibit the divine traits most tangible.
If there is any land on this earth that lay claim to be the blessed Punya Bumi to the the land to which soul on this earth must come to account for Karma the land to which every soul that is wending its way God-ward must come to attain its last home, the land where humanity has attuned its highest towards gentleness , towards generosity, towards purity, towards calmness above all, the land of introspection and of spirituality – it is India  Swami Vivekananda.

How to be Admired and Loved

Monday, 5TH January 2015-01-04

How to be Admired and Loved

A small girl was brought to my office unexpectedly. I had not met her before and she did not stay long with me. But here mother told me afterwards that the child had repeatedly said how much she wanted to come and see me again.

At first I was puzzled that the child should have gained such a good impression about me. In the middle of a hard day’s work when I could not spare much time with her.

But then I recalled how, when she arrived at my office. I had promptly tried to forget my work and to think of what might interest her. I had asked her about her school, her Girl Guides, her friends and her holidays. The child liked her visit because I had taken sincere interest in her.

Nor long ago on another occasion a woman came to my house with a fine bouquet of flowers n expressing my gratitude. I could not stop from asking her what made her to spend a big amount for the bouquet. “Because you have taken an interest in me” was here immediate reply

You could no doubt find similar illustrations from your own life. If you stop to find out the reason, in each case you would probably find that it was because you had taken a sincere interest in the well-being of the concerned person.

Think of the last occasion when you spent an afternoon or evening with same of your friends. Think of the person you most admired and to whom your affection gave a great deal of warmth of lovingness Certainly it was to the person who, by actions and words showed an interest in you . He was the person who tired to help you where you most needed help of that time. He was the person who talked to you about the things that interested you most.

If you take interest in others and in what is of the greatest importance to them. Then you will be held in high esteem and wanted by others. This requires tact. One should avoid giving the impression of being merely inquisitive. There is only one way it Is not a matter of technique but a genuine desire for the good of others and of a sincere wish to discover your part in contributing to their good.

Besides cultivating a desire for their happiness we must recognise that everyone has a problem of some kind. People’s problems are similar to wounds. There are times when it is good to expose them, bathe them and soothe them with ointment. But there are times when it is best to leave them alone and divert the person’s attention to others issues.

By taking an interest in a person you satisfy the hunger for love and the huger for a feeling of personal worth. To satisfy these two human hungers, even in a small measure, is to make a rich contribution to  a person’s life in return you will receive the warmest of response.

Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta

Life is not a bed of Roses, So what?

Life is not a bed of roses , as we all know Calamities , adversities, death, disease and suffering visit everybody those who do not have the inner strength of endurance born of the practice of spiritual discipline, cannot easily stand such impacts  .Sometimes people are driven out of their minds in such situations.

Bhishma Says in Mahabharatha.

When one’s wealth is lost, or one’s wife or son or father is dead, one certainly says to oneself, alas, it is great sorrow! But then one should with the help of meditation by to kill that grief yet , is the practise of meditation such an easy affair that when someone dies at home, you just rise to super consciousness and forget all  about it? It requires a life long practice of mediation for it to be found helpful in times of calamity. Religion helps us to remain, as the Gita says, unperturbed in misery, and unelated in happiness.

Shatter your limitation

Monday 9 June 2014
Shatter your limitation
In Japan fly-circus is an interesting item in carnivals. There you can see the flies making terrific leaps. But surprisingly they never go beyond a predetermined height. Each fly seems to fear an invisible ceiling and a barrier all around. Reason? These flies are kept in a big transparent glass dome for several days right from their infant stage therefore even after the glass dome is removed they think that the glass dome is still there and they would never go beyond the are of that imaginary glass dome!
Unfortunately many people are like these flies , who are afraid of crossing their invisible limits. It is because these people were conditioned in their childhood by their parents and elders to form the habit of self-limitation. Even after becoming an adult and even though there is absolutely no restriction at all they do not cross their imaginary barrier.
Don’t let this happened to you expand your horizon and shatter your imaginary barriers and self limitation.
Need can cure many diseases
Neem is considered very useful in Indian medicine the bark of the need tree is used to remove fever and skin diseases. The decoction of the neem bark is useful in fever accompanied by chickenpox measles etc. it is believed to be better in effect then quinine when applied with dry ginger powder and coriander seed . it can also be administered for cure of jaundice and snake bite.
Fresh neem leaves when heated in boiling water form a preparation for the cure of inactive ulcers , abscesses, an glandular swellings. Need leaves made into pulp can be applied on open sores and bruise joints in epidemics like cholera and plaque, pills made of neem leaves camphor , asafetida and jiggery can be taken at night.
Ash from dry neem leaves mixed with karanj oil can be used for skin diseases. Boiled need leaves can be tied over the eyes for treatment of inflammation and redness.
Juice of need leaves can be taken for killing intestinal worms jaundice snake bite, boils, and fever, it is also good for leprosy and lecoderma patients . they must take juice either alone or with cow’s milk and also sleep under need trees in warm weather.
The fruits of need trees are very useful in leprosy , intestinal works piles and urinary diseases neem oil , can be successfully applied to skin diseases and also as liquid ointment to rheumatic afflictions and headache.
Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
Can one be scientific and yet spiritual? The simple answer to the question , this very important question of our age is an emphatic “yes” it is perfectly possible to be scientific and spiritual simultaneously.
It is not only possible it is also desirable. It is not only desirable, but urgently so. In fact to be both is one of the most compelling challenges facing mankind today.
If in our individual and collective lives we fail to be both scientific and spiritual , any meaningful survival of mankind could very well be extremely doubtful.
Human destiny is no longer any exclusive speculative concern of some self-forgetting philosophers.
It has become everyone personal concern. What happens to mankind affects you and me. What you and I think and do affects mankind, common men and women though we may be . by being truly scientific and yet spiritual we can make the present and future of man abundant and meaningful . this will require proving , theoretically though at this stage.

give as the rose gives perfume because it is its own nature utterly unconscious of giving

We can give nothing to God; He gives all to us.
Books are useless to us until our own book opens.
Read man he is the living poem
Only grandeur appreciates grandeur only God realizes God
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. This sentence alone would save mankind if all books and prophets were lost.
