.

The earnestness of life is the only passport to the satisfactions of life

Quote from the True charm and Power of Vedanta
“Everything can be achieved through bhakti alone. Those who want the knowledge of Brahman will certainly achieve that also by following the trial of bahkti.
Can a man blessed with the grace of God ever lack Knowledge? At Kamarpukar I have seen grin dealers measuring paddy. As one heap is measured away another heap is pushed forward to be measured. The Mother supplies the devotees with the “heap” of  Knowledge
After attaining  Heaven & God , one looks on a pundit as mere straw and dust “Everything can be realized simply through love of God. If one is able to love God, one does not lack anything.
B.G : Just as a flaming fire reduces all fuel to ashes, so dies devotion to Me destroy all sins obstruction its development , O Uddhava! Neither Yoga, nor philosophy, nor Karma, nor Vidic study, nor austerity, nor renunciation attracts Me as intense Bhakti does

 How fruits Ripen
One can easily differentiate the ripe from the unripe fruits. Unripe fruits are typically hard, green , and have a sour or astringent taste. The sour taste is due to the presence of organic acids crush as malice, citric and tartaric. They have high amounts of large molecule carbohydrates called polysaccharides and low amounts of proteins. Ethylene gas plays a major role in the process of ripening  it emanates from fruits and causes rapid and dramatic changes. When the process begins, the green colour of the fruits disappears slowly red colored pigments such as anthocyannins and cartenoids appears giving the fruits distinct colours. They polysaccharides are broken down into smaller sugars which give the fruits the sweet taste. The fruits also begin to soften. Volatile substances are produced during ripening which give many fruits their distinct aroma.

Quote from the True Charm and power of Vedanta
“Take refuge in Me, renouncing all your dharma” Come unto me all ye who labor and are heavy laden, But, if renunciation of all dharma is the final consummation , there is need for that earlier part of the fulfilling of all dharma; that earlier part of the labor, of the evolutionary struggle. This is essential if one is to be able to enjoy and benefit from that lofty relaxation  of self –surrender. So , work hard; perform al duties; develop yourself; then come and surrender to the highest . do a whole day’s honest work , the sit and meditate; then resign oneself to God. Otherwise, that mediation has no meaning or value. Mediation at the end of a lazy day has no meaning; but the same at the end of an active day, filled with good deeds, has meaning, and is rewarding. as I often point out , a retreat or a holiday is meaningful and beneficial only after a whole month’s or a whole year’s honest and productive labor; but to the unemployed , a holiday or a retreat has no meaning.
Therefore, man and women who have exercised their own powers and possibilities in the service of man, and who feel, like a chick, that their erstwhile protective shell of individuality is harsh , to them comes this transcendental urge and vision of pure religion, namely , complete self-transcendence is in self-surrender, the flowering  of manliness into full saintliness.
But the very idea of the transcendental suggests some thing at the base. What is that base? That is what Sri Krsna calls manliness, which involves the growth of man into the two dimension of alpa-atma, or raw ego-centered individuality and maha-atma, or ripe ego –expanded and ethically refined personality, vayktitva and vikasita vyaktitva, as we express it in Sanskrit. The first involves achievement of individual identity and freedom , and the second involves achievement of freedom to the level of social and human responsibility
When one surrenders everything to God , one become a saint. A saint is one in whose heart God has manifested and who is God –filled. Properly understood, that is the most meaningful , lofty , and beautiful consummation of human life. Some of the greatest saints had surrendered their everything and themselves also to God. So , also great God –filled devotees In India always experienced this attitude of akincna-bhava self-effacement, of tadiyata, as belonging to Him’, as this Narada Bhakti Sutras express it. That is surrender, but what a wonderful surrender it is !The surrender to strength, the surrender of fullness the surrender of true victory! That is the gratest music in the concert of spiritual life; and it breathers energy and dynamism and bears the heroic touch. Whoever does it is a hero, a dhira, as the Sankrit language express it.
If to gain life we need strength, to renounce life we need greater strength, if to earn wealth we need strength , to renounce wealth we need greater strength. That is why Divine Grace and self-surrender and resignation to God, in there true forms, appear in spiritual life, only when man has gained strength of character, This is not bhau-balam, muscular strength, buddhi-balam intellectual strength, or nay others strength of worldly will and purpose; but it is the subtlest from of strength known as yoga-balam, strength spiritual , which reveals itself in men and women in the course of their spiritual growth, and irrespective of the level fo society from which they come and their economic status; it is only when one cultivate that strength, that he or she will experience the value of true freedom, the freedom of the spirit, and the true relaxation arising from emptying of self and filling with God, resulting in spontaneity and naturalness as of Childs play courtesy Divine Grace
The attempt to remove evil from the world by killing a thousand evil-doers only adds to the evil in the world in action reaction. But if the people can be made to desist from evil doing by means of spiritual instruction there is no more evil in the world.
It is the nature of the brute to remain where he is . it is the nature of an to seek good and avoid evil; it is the nature f God!
Do not say “You are bad”; say only, “you are good” but be better!

Fearlessness

Monday, March 16, 2015
Fearlessness

Courage is another word for fearlessness. It does not mean a blind rush into danger; it means assess the danger and conquering the fear it produces. The ability to bear pain in order to bring relief to others is the first sign of the brave.
Our history is replace with instances of bravery. We had our brave people like Jhansi rani Lakshmi Bai, kittor chennamma, ‘Shivaji, Guru Gobind Sing. Ahalya Bai and others. Recently we have seen the bravery of our soldiers in the Kargil war. We are proud of them and we admire their valor. The government awards given to children for bravery every years shows that there is no dearth of bravery n this land.
Courage could be physical or even moral,. Courage can be imparted by spirited words. When your friend is depressed or in sorrow or afraid of someone you can uplift his spirits and infuse courage in him by your words.
In the Mahabharata war. Arjuna felt faint hearted on seeing Bhisma and Drona in the battle field. Lord Krishna was Arjuna’s  Charioteer. He infused courage n him and advised him to give up cowardice and fight. That portion of Mahabharata forms the famous Bhagavad Gita. Krishna’s inspired woes gave tremendous courage to Arjuna and he has later able to win the war.
My dear children, there are two types of strength. One is physical and the other is mental. For Bravery  depends more on mental strength than on the physical strength, Gandhi , was not a physically well –built person . But is mental strength was enormous. He was so brave that he became  unquestionable leader. We owe our freedom to such kind of leaders
At home you are afraid of certain thins like darkness. Thieves and so on. Drive out that fear from the mind and be bold. In the beginning it will be difficult, but after sometimes, you will find that you do not fear for anything.
You should be brave when injustice is done to someone. You should raise your voice and defend the innocent
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
The origin of the universe is a mystery . no one knows  how and when the cosmos came into existence. It is only through conjunctures, logical or otherwise, that people try to explain the beginning of creation. There are sages who are of the view that there is no beginning at all to time. It just exists without beginning and without an end. As is the time, so is the space infinite and we cannot say when and where and how the Cain of cause and effect commenced it too is beginning less and endless. And all this is known and yet unknown . God is so knowing the latter three but not God who is no other then Truth. And this unknown and unknowable God manifests as the cosmos and its components. While everything and everyone is a manifestation of God, in the best of everything and everybody God is more perceptible manifest and in the Vibbooti yoga of the Gita. Sri Krishna declares  that the best of everything is indeed Himself.
Vasuki among the snakes. Uchaasiarva among the horses , Iravatam among the elephants, Prhalada aong the daityas and Sri Rama among the wielders of weapons indeed exhibit the divine traits most tangible.
If there is any land on this earth that lay claim to be the blessed Punya Bumi to the the land to which soul on this earth must come to account for Karma the land to which every soul that is wending its way God-ward must come to attain its last home, the land where humanity has attuned its highest towards gentleness , towards generosity, towards purity, towards calmness above all, the land of introspection and of spirituality – it is India  Swami Vivekananda.

Concentration of Mind

Concentration of Mind
One day Swami Vivekanda was walking along a beach where some people were swimming in the water and oithers were sunbathing. A little while later, he noticed some boys trying to shoot rubber balls which were bouncing up and down on the waves . he stopped and watched them for some time and noticed that not one of them was able to hit the target.
The boys saw him standing there and called out excitedly “Swamiji, can you hit this target?”
Swami Vivekananda had never touched a guan in his life but now he piced up the gun and aimed at one of the bobbing balls. He bit it right on. The boys were amazed that someone who had never handled a gun could shoot like that. Thinking that is may be ‘beginner’s luch’ they asked him to have another go . again he effortlessly hit the target. They were even more surpirsed and begged him to do it again. This time also he did noit disappoint them in fact. To clear any doubts they might have had, he hit the balls seven times in a row. The boys were full of curiosity as to how did it. They requested him to share his secret with them.
Swami Vivekanda explined. “It is very simple . Even more unsteady than a ball lossing oin the waves is the human mind . when a person has full contorl over the fluctins of the mind, feats like the one you have just seen are childs’s play. If your mind is not concentrated, you cannot achieve your aim, whatever it may be

Qoute from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Freedom in Boindage
According to the Hindu scriptures, the ideal man is the who is in the world but not in it. That is to say, he is a person who does everything he is required to d, but he does not feel that he is doing anything.
Is such a thing possible? If a person is doing anything, how can be escape the feeling that he is doing something or other? It is ridiculous to suggest that he will not feel that he is doing anything. If he feels that way. He cannot be a normal person., something must be wroing with him.
What is the idea the Hindu scriptures are trying to project? They are trying to say that you should have no wish of  you rown. If you do something; try to feel that God is the doer and not you. You are a mere tool at His hands; He is using you as He thinks best. You make a complete surrender to God and you are happy that He is making use of you.
This can happen only when you are totally selfless. That is to say, you are a perosn who lives for God, or if you prefer, for othes. Because you are selfless, you have no wish of  your own except to please God or do some good to tohers,. You expect no reward, your only concern is to do your best. Havng done tha, you are happy. Dream Come True

If you desire to move forward in life, you should not at anytime complain about the obstacles. To complain of difficulties is to betray weakness and lack of faith . every obstacle is a golden opportunity for further progress. Those who transfer obstacles into opportunities are true leaders. They make dreams come true.

Humour in English

Well son” , asked the father, “How is your performance at school?”

“Underwater”, said the kid.

“And what do you mean by that?”

“Well, it is below C level”

A teenage girl called on her grandmother,  a woman who clung to formal and absolutely pure English, and she chattered happily to he old lady,

“Child, said the grandmother, “ I am not fond of correcting you but really you must change your vocabulary. There are two words you use continually. One is “Swell” and the other is lousy”

Oh, Grandma” said the debutante. “Please tell me; which are these two words?”i fail to see the principal value of all the emphasis on grammar”, protested the student to the teacher.

“Well” said the teacher, “ it can be very important on occasion. For example my neighbour and his son were putting a post in a hole; the father told the son, ‘when i nod my head, you hit it with hammer. And that is precisely what the son did-bashed in the father’s head with the hammer”

Shortly after the opening of school and English teacher requested each student to write 1000 word story on How i spent my summer vacation.

One of the accounts submitted by a student ran somewhat like this. Shortly after school closed in mid April, i left for my uncle’s place. My uncle has a motorboat, i spent most of my time on the lake in the motorboat and whenever i was in the boat its motor went putt-putt______ from this point to the end of the 1000 words, the daring and imaginative young author continued with his description of the sound of the boats’ motor____”put-putt-putt-putt”

Several days after all the student paper’s were turned in he teacher said to the class. “ I have gone over all the vacation accounts and some of them are quite good but there s one that i believe it should be read by its author Sri Charan, will you please step up to the front of the class and read aloud your account of your visit to your uncles’ home and y our experience on the lake____and i want you to read every word of it”

Eco –Indicator plants

Plants have existed on planet for 430 millions of years. According to the taxonomists there are 350000 to 4000000 species growing in different habitants on the earth’s surface  Plants responses to some specific conditions indicter many things about their habitat and surroundings . so they serve as indicators helping to guess, measure or index the prevailing environmental conditions. Their presence absence , or specific , appearance and growth patter stand for many ecological estimations. For instance, the dominant species of a locally become an important eco-indicators as they receive the full impact of that habitat

In ancient times explorers and prospectors used plants as indicators for various purposes . however, in modern times, many highly sophisticated instruments, such as super computers, and remote-sensing –satellites have been developed in spite fo all these, plants are still relevant for preliminary survey to gather information, what is required of man si skilled mind with keen observation ability to study, detect, assess and make use the plants as eco –indicators.

Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta

‘No one can be Perfectly free till all are free

It is difficult to conceive a world where all the equal , yet equality has been man’s dream from the beginning of history. But what is equality? Does it be the same? Is that possible , or desirable? If we are machine-made, we may be alike, but we are not machine-made, we may be alike, but we are not machine-made.in fact , no two human are alike,  physically or otherwise. Each individual is unique. The question of equality between one individual and another does not arise.

What is meant by equality then? Obviously equality, means equality in terms of rights and privileges. All individuals and all nations should be treated alike. Thee should be no discrimination on grounds of  religion, race, or colour. As we found in sports. But some nations have also suffered and are still suffering because they are weak. The stronger nations exploits them but they get away with it just because there is no one to check them ultimately, the saying ‘Might is right’ prevails. The kind of equality which we foresee is still far cry

But there can be no peace in the world unless there is equality . the week are still afraid of the strong. They are not free they are mere pawns in the hands of the strong. Every where, in every society, the minorities feel insecure. They are deprived but they are not always able to voice their grievance. They suffer silently  there are international forums supposed to serve as guardians of peace. But do or can they maintain peace with justice? Doubtful. How impartial they are is questionable. The forums are useless if they do not functions as the conscience of the entire human .race. courtesy Vedanta in practice
