Where to Begin

Monday, June 29, 2015
Where to Begin and How
You can really learn what you really want to Learning is certainly of great importance to us as individuals or as members of society. unfortunateately, many of us reach a certain stage of learning and go through the remainder of lives coasting on the knowledge acquired till then. But to learn more what you need is right attitude till then. But to learn more what you need is right attitude. Above this, curiosity, enthusiasm. Interest, concentration. Problem, solving memory and imagination, are all necessary ingredients for learning. Curiosity is the starter, interest and enthusiasm are low gears, concentration and memory high gears; and accomplishment is the smooth level ride, none of us know it all-or ever will. I think that when we stop learning we begin to stagnate-to die. Everybody knows the cliché, we learn something new everyday. But do we? Can you honestly say that  you learn something new everyday? There are probably many things you’d like to learn, but haven’t yet.
This brings us to crux of the matte. That is the difference between the with to learn and the will to learn. How many times you have said to yourself. “I wish I could do that” or “I wish I had the ability for this? Well, you can wish and wish but never really learn anything . it is the will to learn that creates wonders. Suppose you have gone through an art museum or, seen some good paintings anywhere, you may have said in an offhand manner. “I wish I understood, or knew, a little bit about art”, and that was the end of it.
But if the will to learn is present, you can learn to understand art. I’m sure. If you look around, you’ll find many paces that teach art appreciation. If there is no such place near you, you can take a correspondence course. As a matter of fact, if  you look hard enough, you will find that you can even take some of them free of charge.
The important thing here is to begin . Start learning a subject because you’re interested in it, because you want to and you’ll continue to learn. Do you want to learn how to play golf, to tennis; how to make a speech; write a story; be a better salesman? Speak a foreign language or drive a car. When it comes to acquiring knowledge, you have to be  aware that knowledge never goes in vain. Nevertheless the acquisition of knowledge with a particular aim is always s of a great use. So if you want to learn anything. Start by looking over the entire field of thing you want to learn and proceed till you master it.
Quote from True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Raja –Yoga
In non-philosophical language. Raja-Yoga is the science and art of concentrating the mind. A mind which lacks one-pointed ness or concentration can never be a fit instrument for the realization of Truth. At moments when a man’s mind is perfectly calm and still, the Truth some time suddenly dawns on him even though he has not consciously sought for it. When there is no wave or ripple disturbs the surface of the lake, the moon is clearly reflected. In the same way when the mind thoughts (which have been compared by contemplatives “to dust, to swarms of flies. scorpion”) it is possible for it to glimpse the fact concentration of the mind even for a few minutes, the highest . Truth will be his . But how difficult is such an achievement! The mind’s tendency is always t wander, to roam over heaven and earth, to take the past and future in its sweep. And the more you try to control it by mere force of will, the more unruly it becomes. From the depths of the subconscious rise thoughts which are some times frightening rise thoughts which are some times frightening to look at, One feels tired, distressed, and disheartened at the seeming futility of the struggle., patanjali who first spoke of Raja-yoga, analyses most minutely the nature and working of the mind and suggests ways no demons of bring it under control and making it clam . yoga according to him, is the method of stopping the modifications of the mind –stuff., just as the surface of lake undergoes modifications. In the shape of waves and ripples, when lashed by the wind and therefore cannot reflect the moon. in the same way our wandering thoughts which blot out the visions of Truth are modification of the mind-stuff, resulting farm reactions to various experiences-past and present-in life. Raja-yoga reaches the method of presenting the mind from undergoing unnecessary modifications and giving vent to purposeless thoughts.
The Practice of Raja-Yoga actually consists of many stages. Yama, Niyama, Asana, Prana, yama, Partyahara, Dharana, Dhayana, and Samadhi.

Breath –Carrier of Vital Life Force

Monday, June 22, 2015
Breath –Carrier of Vital Life Force
The simplest way to build a harmonious relationship with life is to develop a loving, joyful and a friendly relationship with your breath. Understand your breath, its ways of working and develop a friendly relationship with it. Breath is the carrier of vital life force within us that makes our body mind organization function and survive.
If you look at breathe as life itself. Your landscape will change. The love, sanctity and value you give to this great spontaneous phenomenon called breathing; will lend to completely change the way you breathe. Then if you breathe slowly, just 20 times with a smile your eyes closed, you will experience deep within a feeling of joy.
When you look at your breath as if it were your constant and unfailing friend, that quality of relationship brings about a profound change in any breathing method you practice. You will soon realize that the way you berthed, is the way you life. This is how complex life turns simple.
Factors that change your relationship to life with reference to the way you breathe are; the flow of breath you allow in your body. The pace with which you breathe, the rhythm you follow the number of times you breathe. Body posture you hold while breathing, vibrations you produce, the attention and serenity with which you breathe.
The way you learn to synchronies all these aspects into one compact process of breathing is what will change your relationship with your body and mind. It is profoundly simple . you will begin to like yourself as you feel the pleasing , calming sensation deep breath brings about.
Our relationship with breath tends to be simple and direct . so if you breathe slowly and attentively you feel the touch of breath as you breathe in and out you will experience a deep sense of peace. If you breathe with great satisfaction, you will feel the grace of life
A simple way of changing the way you feel is to learn how to change your relationship with life in your daily half hour breathing session, you will son experience that as  you breathe, so shall you life. (courtesy Better life)
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Serenity of heart is attained out of our nature through the subjugation of self. Only when we have succeeded n eliminating all worldly impressions and we no longer allow our mind to cling to the non-essential, can we attain perfect tranquility; and we do this through the practice of non-attachment. For this reason non-attachment forms one of the moist vital factors in our spiritual path. In order to gain it people subject themselves to rigid austerities and sacrifices, . But these do not always lead to detachment Often we find as much attachment in a beggar as in a prince. It is not a question of many possessions or few. Non attachment is a quality of mind and has very little to do with external conditions. through a momentary impulse due to unhappy circumstances we may tear our selves away from our associations and environment; but even by doing this , we are not able to break the tie which binds us to them. The outer renunciation of earthly things does not liberate us from the hold they have upon our mind
We usually imagine that we feel attachment only for what is pleasing to us, but in reality aversion binds us as much as desire. It is sometimes even more diffidesire. It is sometimes even more difficult to free ourselves from unpleasant  impressions than form pleasant one’s There are certain blunders, hasty words, unworthy acts, which leave a bad taste in our memory and we would like to forget them; but we seem powerless  to do so, because our mind stubbornly clings to them Often, too, we recognize something plainly detrimental to our progress, yet we are unable to drive it out of our thought.
Another mistake we frequently make is to suppose that thee cannot be any true love without strong attachment in reality, however they are totally different in nure and produce contrary results on our character. Attachment contracts, love expands. Attachment calls out all the baser selfish instincts. We are attached because of the gratification it bring us, with only secondary thought, for the happiness and well-being of the one to whom we are attached. Love , on the other hand, makes us absolutely forgetful of our own self-interest or satisfaction and mindful only of the loved one. It give perfect freedom, while attachment crates slavery both for us and for the one towards whom we beat attachment. Love gives for the joy of giving, attachment gives for the return that may come.  Courtesy Secret of right activity

Share your riches with your fellowmen.
In the modern world every one is eager t get possessions. if your eagerness to get possessions Is not held in check, it can drive  you to annoying situations. Possessions alone d not contribute to happiness. Yet the desire for possessions is a natural tendency in human beings
Early in the children start saying “My “and Mine” .There is a thrill in collecting autographs , stamps ,coins, match fables short biographies, , adventure stories etc. .This results in a sense of pride of possession. Later on, as adults they collect all sort f objects, most of them with out any natural value.
Uncontrolled desire of acquisition and pride in the feeling f ownership may rob you of some of the finest features of your character. Many instance s of disappointment in life are due to feelings of jealousy and greed for wealth among people.
As a balanced individual you have to direct the passion for possession into a desire for the best gifts. You must desire to possess not for impressing others but for distributing your gifts for the benefit of the public. You must acquire riches but you must share them with your fellow men.

Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta :The Religion of work
True religion teaches us how to do well all that we undertake, so that we may prove ourselves worthy servants f the Lord, faithful in our present position before being promoted to something greater. The greatest. Truth-seers the world has ever produced were men of wonderful activity. They were equally mighty and efficient on all planes. The difference between the spiritually awakened man and the ordinary type of worker lies. , not in the amount of his activity , but in its quality and motive power, The spiritual man works with understanding and skill, therefore the accomplishes most with least effort; while the ordinary worker wastes much of his energy through ignorance of the higher laws. In both cases we find the same manifestation of activity. The ordinary man , however, being too limited and self-centered to grasp  anything far reaching , works for small ends and reaps small results, ; while the spiritually minded man, whose work is free from all ulterior motive, works for large ends and achieves lasting results.
But is there any difference in the nature of work? Is there any kind of activity which is absolutely free from evil? No: there is no work which is absolutely good or absolutely bad. It is our motive in the work which determines its worth. We know that there is within us pent-up energy which is constantly finding its outlet through thought, words and actions. We can use this energy for our best happiness and upliftmen; or we can misuses it and cause our own ruin. It can manifest itself in the form of anger or hatred, which will bring disastrous results; also it can manifest itself in the form of goodness, unselfish love, charity and service. It is the same energy expressing itself in different ways according to our tendency.
One who falls back or becomes degraded, has allowed his force to drag him down; and through the proper use of it the same man has the power to uplift himself. Therefore the sages teach us never to condemn or look down upon any one , but always to speak words of encouragement and show the way by which others may discover the secret of right activity and raise themselves. Since by our nature we must all be constantly active, what we need is to learn to direct our forces through right channels and avoid painful reactions. Courtesy secret of Right Activity

Right attitude leads you to success!

Monday, June 8 , 2015

Right attitude leads you to success!
What is attitude?
Attitude is our inward feeling expressed by our behavior. Attitude is our outlook to life, based on our past experiences. It is that, which draws people towards us or repels them. When a person’s attitude is positive , it is conducive to growth and progress. A hardened attitude on the other hand leads to a closed mind.
How important is our attitude?
Let’s consider two buckets one an eternal optimal and the other a staunch pessimist. The second bucket, on approaching the well said, “There has never been a life as disappointing as mine. I come away from the well, full to the brim, but when I return, I am empty”, On the other hand the optimistic bucket said. “There has never been such a happy life as mine. Whenever, I come to the well, I am empty but when I go away, I am full!
A negative person always sees only the worst side oi things. He sees only the problems, while a positive person sees the good in everything, the silver lining behind every cloud.
There are some basic truths about how our attitude affects our success and our outlook to life,
Our attitude determines our approach to life. It determines what we expect from the –whether we are preparing to take off or heeding for a crash.
Most times , it is our attitude that is the only difference between success and failure.
Compare the attitude of two shoe salesman who were sent to an island to self shoes.
The first, sale mean, on arriving on the island was astonish when he saw that non one on the island was wearing shoes., immediately he sent a telegram back to the Head office saying, “ will return home tomorrow, No one wears shoes.
The second salesman, n arriving at the island was confronted with the same sight. However he joyfully telegraphed back. “ Please send me 10,000 shoes everyone here needs them.
Two men came to the same place and saw the same thing-both perceived something totally different. The difference was in their attitude ., one saw it as the beginning of a new opportunity, while the other saw it as the end.
Often our attitude at the beginning of a task will affect its out come more than anything else.
Our attitude can turn problems into blessings.
To those with a positive attitude, adversity brings out the best in them. They are like kits rising against the wind- when the adverse winds oi criticism and failure blow against them, instead of bowing and benign before it, they use it as a leaver ot rise. They try and turn adverse situations into positive and helpful ones.
Some of the greatest works in the English language were written when their authors were imprisoned and behind bars.
Robinson Crusoe was written in prison by Defoe.
John, Bunyan wrote . The pilgrim’s Progress while in Bedford jail.
Sir Walter Raleigh wrote his History of the world during a 13 years imprisonment in to Tower.
For 10 years, Danie, the author oi Divine Comedy, worked in exile and under the sentence oi death
Beethoven was almost totally deaf and burdened with sorrow, when he produced his greatest symphonies.
If we start the day with a spring to our steps , a song on our lips and a smile on our face, we are more likely to have a wonderful day. The future not only looks bright when the attitude is right, but the present is also much more enjoyable.
We feel and accept an attitude at an early age, based on circumstances and surroundings, but as we grow we should mould it to develop into a positive attitude.
When faced with obstacles, you may believe that you are the only one facing difficulty, At such times, it is inspiring to read about great men who initially faced repeated failures and rejections, yet, overcame them because they had the right attitude,
When Polish pianist Ignace Paderewski first chose to study the piano , his much teacher told him that his hands were too small to master the keyboard.
Enrich Caruso, the Italian tenor singer, was told by one of his teachers that his voice sounded like the wind whistling through  the windows, Henry Ford forgot to put a reverse gear in his first car.
Yet , these very same people , who were told that they could never do something or forgot one of the moist basic things, achieved greatness in their respective fields. They did not get disheartened of disillusioned , the considered their failures to be stepping stones on the road to achievement and fame. The persistence of a person who encounters failure is often a sing of a healthy attitude Winners don't quit!

People also judged by the company they keep away from

A great deal of talent is lost in this world want of little courage.

Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Bhakti Yoga is the science of higher love. It shows us how to direct it; it shows  us how to control it, how to mange it , how to use it, how to give it a new aim, as it were, and from it obtain the highest and moist glorious results, that is how to make it lead unto spiritual blessedness. Bhakti Yoga does not say, “Give up it only says “Love love the highest!” and everything low naturally falls off from him, the object of whose love is the highest.

Imaginary Monsters

Imaginary Monsters

Superstition and fear have made people dream up all kinds of strange and imaginary monsters. Some of these unnatural creatures were invented from stories of unusual animals brought back by travelers. Other mystical monsters are based on actual living, and extinct animals. Some imaginary monsters might be real, we just do not know for sure.
Every year, thousands of people watch the water on Loch Ness in Scotland, hoping to see the Loch Ness Monster. Some believe that the monster could be a surviving Plesiosaur a prehistoric sea creature.
The hydra is a nine-headed beast of Greek mythology, it was very difficult to kill as each time a head was cut off, it grew two new one.
Sailors’ sightings of mermaids may have been dugongs. At a distance, female dugongs with their young look like women holding their babies in their arms.
The myth of basilisk as a vicious , venomous creature is much more fearsome than the harmless real-life lizard.
In the Himalaya , giant human-like footprints have been found. They are thought to belong to the Abominable Snowman or Yeti.
Dragon are among the oldest mythical monsters. Dragon-like reptiles roaming the Earth include the Komodo dragon and the Iguana.
The narwhal’s long twisting horn has been mistaken for that of the mythical unicorn.

Life is fruitful I the ratio in which it is laid out in noble action or patient perseverance.
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta

Now  you have heard about other kinds of mediation or read about them and thought about them. One of the very common ways-and I do not mean common in the sense that it is of no use-is mediation on one of the forms of God. There are devout Christian who like to mediate on Christ and Buddhists who mediate on Buddha among the Hindus there are many who mediate on other forms of the Deity . Hindus delight in having founded many divine forms for the purpose of mediation You may say, “ Oh , all these gods!  We don’t like that. “But whether you like it or not, you must admit that since men are so various, it will be delight to them to have a choice of various ways of mediation. If you don’t like one form of God , you can take another and mediate on that . Some of these forms may express to you great states of being. Christ is a state o being, Buddha is a state of being, many Hindu deities also are states of being. You pick one. The teacher will describe that form and the way you should think of that deity. Then as  you dwell on that from, your mind gradually becomes immersed init.
Long ago I read the Vishnu Purana , one of our old Sanskrit books . in it there is a description of a meditation, a long description., I wont go into the details, but it is one of the ways of mediation which are mixed with devotion or love: you mediate on Krishna, because he is the embodiedment of Love. You mediate on him ,and his form becomes real and brings to you not only the consciousness of the One being of which the whole world is an expression, but also a sense of beauty , a sense of love, and you feel the whole universe is really an expression of this Love, this inner Being. That is a wonderful meditation. If you practice it you will derive a great deal of spiritual benefit from it. That is the path of devotion in which most people of the world are interested and which most people want to follow.
In one of the books of our philosophy , it is said, “Do noit think that you are separatd form anything. Whatever you think you are separated from will circumscribe you and bind  you . Think that you are one with all, and you will feel free. Courtesy When the Many become One
There are three kinds of devotees: superior, mediocre, and inferior, The inferior devotee says, God I out there’ Acoording to him God is different from His creation. The medicore devotee says; God is the Anarayami, the inner Guide. God dwells in everyone’s heart. The mediocre devotee sees God in the heart . But the superior devotee sees that God alone has become evrything. He alone has become the twenthy-four cosmic principles. He finds that everything . aboe and below is filled with God.
“Read the Gita, the Bhagavata, and the Vedatna , and y ou will understand all this . Is not God in His creation.?”

But, if He exists?

Envy In social Life

Envy In social Life

We have been warned against Envy as one of the seven deadly sins. Envy is , indeed, the bane of social life. Moliere has even made this mournful prophecy: “Envious people will die; but Envy will never die”. Where do we find this Envy in us? Envy has its root in abnormal egotism. Try to crush and suppress it by all means in your power. If you see someone who is more beautiful than you are, begin to enjoy and appreciate that beauty, instead of thinking of your own inferiority. Similarly, if you meet someone who is more intelligent or erudite than you are, either you try to improve yourself or appreciate the others person’s intelligence. Don’t be sad and downcast because it is not yours personally. it is yours through the fundamental unity of Humanity . Nature does not concentrate all gifts in one individual but she bestows a few of them on each, and thus all of them on al together. Thus everyone is compensated. Envy which is born of Egotism and Inequality is an entirely negative and unprofitable feeling.
Every is a vice that yields no return. You gain nothing from envy: and you lose peace of mind and happiness by your own meanness and selfishness. You may try to decry and belittle others, or point out their shortcomings, or take delight in stander and scandal. Envy engenders such baseness and uncharitableness. Envious person doesn’t understand that he cannot injure another eminent person by malicious and unjust criticism. He is even despised by those to whom he speaks. in fact, he produces a reaction of sympathy in favors of the person whom he criticizes . envy turns even great men into pygmies. We can quote a small incident in Plato’s life . Once Diogenes the Cynic was really caught by envy when he pretended to show moral indignation against Plato. On one occasion. Plato had invited some friends to a banquet, and Diogenes trampled on his carpets and said. “Thus I trample on the pride of Plato” Plato said,” yes, Diogenes, with pride of another sort” Saint Kabir has truly said. “It is easy to sacrifice money , but is very difficult to abandon envy and jealousy. Envy destroys and disorganizes progressiveness  and organizations. The lesser –minded people , envious of the fame of the successful leaders, try t filch their good name from them . they foment discontent and disputes and sometimes even break up the organization for their selfish ends. Thus every can mar and destroy everything that is beneficial to mankind . as Spencer put it, envy is ravenous wolf’ that hungrily devours one’s sense of appreciation.

Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
As a matter of ideas or concepts only , the philosophic discipline is a discipline of the reason, it is a way of thinking rationally . you have aptitude , let us say , and then you are taught by the study of logic and other disciplines how to think philosophically. But there is another discipline by which the mind is capable of the spontaneous grasp of reality at its freshest, at its very origin. That discipline, I have found , calls for self-abnegation. By self –abnegate I man relinquishment, of what you know to be only superficial and therefore untrue, of what you know to be a veil covering the face of truth. You not only have to reject this in your thought, you have to reject it in your behavior, for in our present state thought is only a pale reflection of behavior. I do not , for example see how a seeker of truth- a true student of philosophy –can be all involve with this world going here and going there , enjoying the so-called good things of life, and at the same time reflect in his own mind reality as it is. I do not see how he can grasp reality as it is . I do not see how he can grasp  reality fully and understand what it is . I just cannot see it. You may say. “ If a philosophy student behaved as you require. He would be antisocial; what kind of life is this for a student of philosophy ; My friends , even if you want to gain a little something of this world you will find you cannot distract yourself , you have to give your full attention to it . and there you are trying to capture the heart of reality and you do not think it calls for your full attention! I say it does call for  your full attention, your fill mind and your full heart have to be given to it. Courtesy A view of Vedanta

Cherish Good Memories.

Image result for cherish good memories quotesMemories can be interesting and inspiring  Our memories like everything else in life, are both positive and negative . the older we get the larger our memory banks become . we can review the contents of our memory banks and either energize ourselves and live a full life or put ourselves down.
Memories are also made up of our attitude and behavior. That is why it is important to watch what we feed into our memory banks. If we continue to focus on the positive, we will look back to situations that have been helpful for our growth. If we strengthen positive memories, we will remember all that challenges to maturity.
Memories need not only be those of beautiful nature. Blue skies, birds , trees, flowers in full bloom, quiet lakes and waves thundering against the seashore-all these memories seem to put us in a happy mood. Memoirs can also be corroded streets, overflowing waters. These memories might leave us cold indifferent to life.
The memories that ought to stay longer with us are those with experiences of love and compassion. We have keen memories of our life supporting systems and people we have interacted with those that have been instrumental in our growth.
Our daily interactions with people might expose us to those who have destructive traits . there are those who are violent and insist that only their view is right. It is these. Memories that we should try to overcome . if we do not give too much importance to them, they will not overpower us . ON the contrary, they could contribute to our growth.
Spiritually mature people are usually brimming with good memories. For them every challenge or difficulty has been a chance to learn. They have stored in their memory banks useful lessons from a variety of experiences. it a rose can bloom in the midst of so many thorns, why cant we too proper wherever we bloom?
We cannot escape the ups and down of life. But our memory banks can help us to remain balanced with a quiet contentment which is possible for steady minds.
Our experience of God is colored by memories. He takes away the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the present and the future like a true artist who paints in black and white, shade and shadow, darkness and light.
The memory state cannot be wiped absolutely clear. However , every memory can also bring us to a point where we begin to see ourselves in a new light.
Thus our memory banks could help us to steer ourselves towards safe waters and may help anchor us in tranquility. (courtesy Cosmo News)
UNSTAIN THOUGHTS DO SELDOM DREAM ON EVIL
HE THAT DOTH PUBLIC GOOD FOR MULTITUDES. FINDS FEW ARE TRULY GREATEFUL.
EVERYTHOUGHT WHICH GENIUS AND PEITY THROW INTO THE WOD ALTERS THE WORLD.
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Religion and Philosophy
Scholars sometimes raise the question: ‘Which is more important. Religion or Philosophy? Most of them thing philosophy is more important, for it is based on experience. You observe facts, then you begin to ask yourself why those facts happened, why they happened the way they did and what they signify. After weighing everything you reach certain conclusions and it is these conclusions which constitute what is called philosophy. Philosophy is therefore, objective and logical.
Philosophy is a system of rules and principles which try to explain the facts we observe. These rules and principles are all products of our own intellect, unless we recognize that thee is such a thing as divine agency which is supreme. It is on this matter of divine agency that philosophers divide into two groups, one group believing that there is a divine agency and this divine agency determines everything, and another group believing that the so-called divine agency is non –existent or if it exists at all, it is indifferent to what happens in the world. Scholars argue that the first group cannot be taken seriously, for whenever they are in difficulty, they take refuge in an unknown power called  God., But the position of the second group it still more vulnerable for their observation and reasoning , the bases of their stand, vary from person to person.
Scholars are, however, suspicious of the bona fides of religion, because they think that religion is belief. It cannot be taken seriously, for it does not explain, it only wants you to take thins for granted. How can you trust such a thing?
But religious people think that religion is also a science. it is not a belief, it is an experience open to all. Just as in the case of physical science, you have to fulfill certain conditions to arrive at a given result, similarly in the case of religion you have to fulfill certain conations in order that you can attain the desired experiences you have to have deep concentration of the mind. Work hard, and so on. More important, you have to have oral qualities like honesty, good will and love for all. Self-restraint and so on. You choose some great soul, say Buddha or Christ as your ideal, and you keep trying and you never stop till you succeed.

A religious man is not trying to attain anything outside: diamond, power, or position. He is only trying to be like the man he has chosen and his ideal. He knows it is not easy, but he finds joy in trying and he keeps trying. If religion includes belief, it is the belief that such a goal is worth trying to achieve. He may never be another Buddha or Christ, but the fact that he is trying to be like them is a reward in itself. There is no miracle in religion: there is instead hard work, determination, and single minded zeal. The goal of religion is perfection.
The difference between region and philosophy is that while religion achieves, philosophy explains. (Courtesy Vedanta in practice)

But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
