Share your
riches with your fellowmen.
In the modern
world every one is eager t get possessions. if your eagerness to get
possessions Is not held in check, it can drive
you to annoying situations. Possessions alone d not contribute to
happiness. Yet the desire for possessions is a natural tendency in human beings
Early in the
children start saying “My “and Mine” .There is a thrill in collecting
autographs , stamps ,coins, match fables short biographies, , adventure stories
etc. .This results in a sense of pride of possession. Later on, as adults they
collect all sort f objects, most of them with out any natural value.
Uncontrolled
desire of acquisition and pride in the feeling f ownership may rob you of some
of the finest features of your character. Many instance s of disappointment in
life are due to feelings of jealousy and greed for wealth among people.
As a balanced
individual you have to direct the passion for possession into a desire for the
best gifts. You must desire to possess not for impressing others but for
distributing your gifts for the benefit of the public. You must acquire riches
but you must share them with your fellow men.

Quote from
the True Charm and Power of Vedanta :The Religion of work
True religion
teaches us how to do well all that we undertake, so that we may prove ourselves
worthy servants f the Lord, faithful in our present position before being
promoted to something greater. The greatest. Truth-seers the world has ever
produced were men of wonderful activity. They were equally mighty and efficient
on all planes. The difference between the spiritually awakened man and the
ordinary type of worker lies. , not in the amount of his activity , but in its
quality and motive power, The spiritual man works with understanding and skill,
therefore the accomplishes most with least effort; while the ordinary worker
wastes much of his energy through ignorance of the higher laws. In both cases
we find the same manifestation of activity. The ordinary man , however, being
too limited and self-centered to grasp
anything far reaching , works for small ends and reaps small results, ;
while the spiritually minded man, whose work is free from all ulterior motive,
works for large ends and achieves lasting results.
But is there any
difference in the nature of work? Is there any kind of activity which is
absolutely free from evil? No: there is no work which is absolutely good or
absolutely bad. It is our motive in the work which determines its worth. We
know that there is within us pent-up energy which is constantly finding its
outlet through thought, words and actions. We can use this energy for our best
happiness and upliftmen; or we can misuses it and cause our own ruin. It can
manifest itself in the form of anger or hatred, which will bring disastrous
results; also it can manifest itself in the form of goodness, unselfish love,
charity and service. It is the same energy expressing itself in different ways
according to our tendency.
One who falls
back or becomes degraded, has allowed his force to drag him down; and through
the proper use of it the same man has the power to uplift himself. Therefore
the sages teach us never to condemn or look down upon any one , but always to
speak words of encouragement and show the way by which others may discover the
secret of right activity and raise themselves. Since by our nature we must all
be constantly active, what we need is to learn to direct our forces through
right channels and avoid painful reactions.

But, if He
exists?
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening
for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him.
One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something,
which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does
not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am
afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes
rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I
derive 4m.
