Why Mediate?

Monday, October 19, 2015
Why Mediate?
I meditate in order to find myself, a brief moment alone and apart, far from the maddening crowd’s dishonorable bitterness, that I may not get lost in the crowd, that I may call my own.
I meditate in order to find rest from life tiredness and fret, so that my soul can catch its breath and restore its scattered strength.
I meditate in order to find peace from the violent confusion and the bitterness from the tensions and the turmoil of coping with life’s tasks and challenges.
I dedicate in order to see life steadily and see it whole; so that whatever I experience I can absorb and relate to my vision of life and place n proper perspective.
I meditate so that my surface life and my interior life be not in conflict with one another; but are mutually reinforced an brought into harmony and oneness.
I mediate in ordered to discover the depths of my being, discover and release the forces hidden there the reserves of strength and endurance, the powers of self-recovery and self healing, that wait upon my quietness human , aware of the “I” in me, aware of the ‘me’ in other people , aware of other people in me, none, of us an island, but all part of the main.
I mediate to grasp bettered the meaning of human existence and my own purpose upon this earth, so that I can find the hidden treasure of life and be sustained by it.
I mediate to sift better the wheat from the chaff in the values of my society, so that I can adhere to the essential and gladly let the trivial go free.
I meditate in order to grow in understand of my relationship to God, and His relationship to me, so that I can express this relationship in my daily life, be sustained by my awareness of its existence, and guided by the compass it provides so that I live in Him and He in me, that I may begin a relationship now that will be forever and ever in world without end. Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
The Goal and the Way
If we think calmly for a while, we find that all the scriptures speak in the same strain and of the same goal. True, they teach the same truth; yet this appeals to people when put in different ways. We shall discuss some scriptural teaching about the goal and the means to it. It is a trite saying; As am man sows , so does he reap . Scriptures too say that as a man thinks, so does he become. Success depends upon exertion. There is an invariable connection of cause and effect between right exertion and success.
Whatever a man earnestly tires to do must meet with success.
Religion is hardly a matters of lecturing learning , or teaching . it is a thing to be experienced. Thee may be many ways of spiritual practice according to temperamental different of aspirants. This is why there have been so may sects in the domain of religion. If we analyses all the sects of our country , we can divide them under four heads, viz Janani, karmi, Bhakta, and Yogi. Those who avoid sense-objects and hankerings after them and remain content in the Self alone, take to the path of knowledge (jnana) those who, being in the midst of worldly object and activities, find themselves very limited in resource and take refuge in the Almighty God are known as Bhaktas (devotees) Those who work in the right sprit are Karmis (selfless workers) ?there is another calls fo men who try to uproot the seeds of desires by looking into the very depths of their mind through concentration. They are called yogis. Courtesy Religion and its Practice

Live for Others

Monday, October 12, 2015
Live for Others
“One should live for others. I have fulfilled my karma, my destiny. I have done every thing within my capacity that had to be doe. There is nothing more left to do. A tin with the capacity to hold twenty kilos of ghee . no, more . if you try to fill it up with more ghee it will spill over. I am in the same state now you evolve yourself according to your own personality. While evolving yourself, however, remember this. A man’s life is for others. A man who lives only for himself is not a human or even an animal . Have you ever seen a hen eating another hen? You live for yourself, earn for yourself enjoy your earning for yourself. This is not sing of a human being.
Cord of selfishness

Man has bound himself with the cord of selfishness. Whether or not you can do something about it is a different matter. But considerer this point-when the bridge to Lanka was being built for Lord Rama’s army, didn’t the squirrel make a humble contribution? The bridge couldn’t have been built with the and it brought, but look at its bhakti, devotion and dedication to the Lord’s work . that is the most important thing.
The intensity of feeling within you is all that matters. You may not be a millionaire or a billionaire, but you can still serve by means others than money. You can serve through physical work, bhakti , genuine emotion, compassion, etc. Suppose you are a poet, a story writer or an artist working with the media, you can inspire people, you can set them thinking altruistically. Suppose you are a leader, the head of a panchayat, a village council. You set the rules for the village , to tell the people that they should not live for themselves but for others.
The tree brings forth fruit for others. Have you ever seen a mango tree eating her own fruit? Grains, vegetables flowers and fruits grow in abundance for others to eat. Look around and you will see that everything lies, thrives and grows for others. It is only man who lives selfishly for himself. he earns only for his own children and keeps clinging to them selfishly. Whoever lives for others is dedicated to others. One who is selfless is selfless towards one and all. One who is charitable is charitable towards one and all with no discrimination. One who is a well-wisher is well –wisher to all, not only to Muslims, Brahmins, Vaishaya, or widows. He/She live for one and all without exception. Excerpt from : Bhakti Yoga Sagar
Drinking Water for Rural Masses
The national Rural Drinking water program (NRDWP) has been implemented by the Government oif India through the Ministry of Drinking water and Sanitation . it gives lot of importance to water sources and availability with regard to portability, adequacy, convenience, affordability and equity. This can be achieved only with the community involvement at the grass-roots level . besides it, strong politic will and participation of non-government organizations is also needed.
In view of the need and aspiration of the rural masses, provision has been made in the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017) to ensure the supply of piped water to at least 50 percent of the rural population with at least 55 ipcd (liters per capita per day) instead of 40 ipcd with their premises or within 100 meters distance from their household without any barriers of socio-economic discrimination.
The strategic plan for the Rural Drinking water, 2011-2022 ensures safe and enough water for dinking cooking and other domestic needs as well as for livestock throughout the year including during any natural calamities. By 2022 every rural person will have access to 70 ipcd within his/here household premises or at a horizontals or vertical distance of not more than 50 meters from household individual States can adopt higher quantity norms, such as 100 ipcd. The goal to be achieved by 2017 is to ensure that at least 50 percent of rural households are provided with piped water supply , at least 35 percent of rural households have piped water supply with household connections. Less than 20 percent will use public taps and less than 45 percent will use hand pumps or other safe and adequate private water sources. All services will meet set standards in terms of quality and number of hours of water supply every day.
Apart from this , the NRDWP wants to ensure adequate water supply to all households schools and anganwdi in rural India.
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Love of God
Love is something absolutely unselfish, that which has no thought beyond the glorification and adoration of the object upon which our affection are bestowed. It is a quality which bows down and worships and asks nothing in return. Merely to love is the sole request that true love has to ask. It is sais of a Hindu saint that when she was married she said to her husband, the king, that she was already married. ‘To whom? Asked the king. To god’ was the reply . she went among the poor and the needy and taught the doctrine of extreme love for God. One of here prayers is significant , showing he meaner in which here heart was moved. I ask not for wealth; I ask not for position; I ask not for salvation, place me in a hundred hells if it be. Thy wish, but let me continue to regard Thee as my Love. The early language abounds in beautiful prayers of this woman. When here end came , she enter into Samadhi on the banks of  a river. She composes a beautiful song in which she stated that she was going to meet here Beloved.
Men are capable of philosophical analysis of religion., A woman is devotional by nature and loves God from the heart and soul and not form the mind. The songs of Solomon are one of the most beautiful parts of the Bible. The language in them is much of that affectionate kind which is found in the prayers of the Hindu woman saint. And yet I have heard that Christians are going to have these incomparable songs removed. I have heard explanation of the songs in which it is said that Solomon loved a young girl and desired here to return his royal affection. The girl, however, loved a young man and did not want to have anything to do with Solomon. This expiations is excellent to some people, because they cannot understand such wondrous love for God as is embodied in the songs. Love for
God in India is different from love for God elsewhere, because when yo get into a country where the thermometer reads 40 degrees bellows zero. The temperament o fht people changes. The aspiration of the people in the climate where the books of the Bible are said to have been written, were different from the aspiration of the cold-blooded Western nations, who are ore apt to worship the almighty dollar with the warmth expressed in the songs than to worship God. Love for God seems to be based upon bais of what can I get out of it? In their prayers they asked for all kind of selfish things.
Christians are always wanting God to give them something. They appear as beggars before the throne of the Almighty. A story is told of beggar who applied to an emperor for alms. While he was waiting , it was time for the emperor to offer up prayers. The emperor preyed. O god give me more wealth, give me more power, give me a grater empire. The beggar started to leave. the emperor turned and asked him. Why are you going? I do not beg of beggars, was the reply. Courtesy Bhakti yoga

God the Wicked

Monday, October 05, 2015
God the Wicked
This is an astonishing phrase used by Swami Vivekanda. In the same strain he has also said, ‘God the poor’ God the ignorant’ Not only he, even his Master ,Sri Ramakrishna, has said similar thing . Is all this not blasphemy?
There is a whole philosophy behind such expressions, according to this philosophy, man is essentially divine. He is divine, but his divinity is hidden. It is like the full moon is always full, though it is not always so seen. Sometimes it is not seen at all. Whether the moon is seen a t all or not, and however distorted it may be seen sometimes, it always remains what it really is –the full moon.
This simile aptly describes man’s real nature and how it is seen distorted. Wickedness is not his real nature, it is only a distortion. This distortion can be corrected and when it is corrected, man shows his divinity. He is then a Godlike man, a wonder to everybody,
What are this man’s specific qualities? First and foremost, he is honest. No temptation and o threat can make him tell a lie. He is selfless. He lives as if he lives for others. He never hurts anybody; he does not hurt an animal for food or otherwise or even a plant. He is above the barriers of race and country. The whole world is his home. Everybody is his brother and sister. If anybody or any living thing is in pain, he is in pain too. If others are happy, he is also happy. He is one with everybody and everything.
Man is by nature selfish. How can he be so transformed that he will be like the kind of man described above? Has anybody ever seen such a man in flesh? Or cause there have been such men and women again and again in history. Maybe there have been many more than we know of . they have come and gone, few people outside the circle of their closet friends knowing anything about their greatness. This was because their natural modesty made them shun publicity as far as possible. even now may be found such people among the humblest in the world with divinity manifest in them n varying degrees but if they are not know , it is because they prefer to remain unnoticed.
But if there is divinity in everybody, how is it that there is also wickedness in man? How can good and evil coexist? It is because man is ignorant of the truth that he is divine. If he were conscious of his divinity, he would have been consistently good, not sometimes good and sometimes bad, as at present, Each individual has to discover the divinity that ties hidden within himself under the mass of good and evil tendencies on the surface. It is like discovering gold under the earth. One has to dig deeper and deeper till the ‘Gold’ is found. But how does one know that there is any divinity at all within oneself? At first one has a doubt about it, but when one sees people outstanding in their goodness, ne cannot help but ask why one should not try and be like them.
No man is absolutely bad. Even the worst scoundrels are sometimes exceptionally good. It is wrong to permanently condemn anybody as wicked. If there is a blasphemy, it is it. Give him an opportunity to improve. With good education, encouragement and sympathy even a hard-core criminal can improve. Instances of such transformation are many . this is possible because man is basically divine. Courtesy Vedanta in Practice

Brains and Feeling
The brain is literally the head office. Nerves from every part of the body take messages to it, and it a nerve is cut no message can come through. This is the basis of anesthesia. A local anesthetic merely puts the nerves, the body’s telegraph system, out of action, but a general anesthetic closes down the brain, the receiving station.
A brain is made up of the same stuff as nerves, but the grey matters, which is supposed to be responsible for most of the thinking, is spread over the whole in a layered of varying depth according to the brain. It is not possible to make a detailed map of a brain. Reasoning, however, it is agreed, is centered largely n the forehead our cerebrums, sight at the back, and the hind brain or cerebellum controls the body balance.
Secondary brain centered in the hips
No there organ in the world compares in complexity with the human brain  an average man’s brain weighs two and a half pounds, roughly one-sixth of his entire weight. An elephants’ brain may weigh fifteen pounds, but this is only 1/600th of the animals total heaviness.
Even such a poor brain as this is a great advance on the brains of reptiles. The limited minds of the huge dinosaurs largely hastened their extinction. The Stegosaur, for instance, had a brain infinitely smaller in proportion to that of the elephant it was so small that a sort of secondary brain many times the size of the true brain was centered in the hips to direct the moments of the hind legs and swing the huge tail. .
A similar state o affairs occurs with invertebrates. Crabs and files, for example have minutes true brains, but ‘belly brains” centered at the junction of their legs. In a jellyfish or sea anemone there is nothing that can be called a brain-merely a tangle of nerves, with no central receiving station
It will be realized from this how misleading is the humanized in popular nature stories. An insect is more comparable to a machine than a mammal. Even it dismembered, the parts mechanically attempt to carry on, as under normal conditions. Pain is an insignificant term when applied to the invertebrates, and possibly many of the lowest backboned animals. Courtesy wisdom
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta

The earth sky, heaven, the primary quarters, and the intermediate quarters; Fire , Air, the Sun, the Moon and the Stars; water, herbs, trees, sky, and Virat-these relate to natural factors. Then follow the personal one; Prana, Vyana ., Apana Udana, and Samana the eye the ear, the mind speech, and the sense of touch ; skin, flesh muscles bones and marrow . having imagined these thus, the seer said, All this is verily constituted by five factors one fills up the outer five fold by the (individual) fivefold ones.
Since a sacrifice is performed with five factors-the sacrificeer and his wife, the son, divine wealth, and human wealth. Thus everything can equated matter only with the Metter Prakriti but also with sacrifice
These different forms of the vital force perform these functions respectively: exhaling, pervading, inhaling, leaving the body and digesting.

Happiness Guarantees A Healthy Life

Happiness Guarantees A Healthy Life
Happiness is a wonderful feeling. It brings anything and everything to everyone. It guarantees a healthy life, keeps everyone relaxed, paves way for a conducive domestic and official environment, increases productivity, promotes healthy relationships, eases tension and stress amongst colleagues.
When you are happy, you charge the environment with your happiness , you will be able to see visible changes in your friends, colleagues and others when you keep them happy. The changes that occur out of happiness in a group of people are positive indicators for a healthy society. To feel happy or otherwise depends upon or otherwise depends upon individuals ability or capacity. It depends upon one’s attitude to life or how one views at things that happen around.
We must try to develop a mental state in which we should be able to receive whatever we see or find with a clam state of mind which means that you do not become angry or upset , especially in difficult situations. One must develop a strong attitude to set goals and objectives, make efforts to realize them and develop a mindset to accept the successes and failures with equanimity. Remember that before our scientist scored a definite success in the launching of Chndrayaan. They had several setbacks earlier.
There is one of the pursuits of accepting things as they happened with equanimity and a policy of never yielding to mental pressures at the time of failures at the time of failures. Such an attitude not only keeps you free from pressures but also trains you to move towards God because nothing can move on this earth without His Grace.
There are some who always feel contented and try to look at the portative side of things and feel free and happy. Such people always entertain happy feelings and make others feel happy. Happy people can alone infect others with their happiness. Happiness thus derived, results automatically in good feelings, warmth and affection and promotes healthy relationships. Such healthy relationships promote greater understanding amongst the colleagues. A relaxed ambience in an organization ensures greeter productivity. People free from stress and strain stay healthy for longer periods. Healthy people of a society are the real assets of any nation. There are a number of factors that really contribute to the well-being and happiness of individuals.
Factors that ensure happiness are:
Sustaining Sense of Humour:  Children are usually endowed with a sense of humor . as they grow, they face problems and get worked up due to a number of reasons . Hence, we should decide to emulate the child. When we try to sustain ourselves with our sense of humor, everyone will seek our company. Thus, they will turn out to be friendly with us. How will you sustain a sense of humor? It all depends on us.
Being Helpful: Our forefathers have always advocated lending a helping hand to the others. The person who helps some one is great. The person who receives such helps is greater as he provides an opportunity for a person to help. Let the noble thought of cringe and sharing is everywhere. a friend in need is friend indeed. Timely help makes the receiver of such help overcome big hurdles.
Building and Binding Harmonious Relationships
Each one is important. Nobody’s big. None can ever be branded small. Everyone should try to understand the problems of others and help in removing their problems . everyone should be ready to find solutions of the problems any member of a society may face. Trying to understand and appreciate others problems and finding solutions in every possible way is probably the best way towards seeking harmonious relationships: The bonds and relationship thus created promoted good feelings amongst the members of a community. A harmonious environment creates and atmosphere free of tension.
Brining Hope: we should firmly believe that everyone around us in the organization works towards achieving the organizational goals. Hence. We should hope to achieve the results by our sustained. Efforts. Such a confident feeling instills hope in everyone.
Keeping a cool head: when we perform our job, we should always hope that we shall be winners at the end of the day. We should keep our cool heads despite difficulties. We should never become emotional or influenced by others undesirable external forces.
Heart: A person may be at the top of an organization or at the bottom. What is essentially required is that he/she must have a heart. The feelings and emotions of people should be respected and reciprocated. One has to be sincere, loving and caring.
Humaneness: All human beings should prove their worth by their kindness, sharing mind and a caring attitude. Everyone must sympathies with others especially with those who are at a disadvantage.
Be a Human:  Are you a god human being? You can be anything, a scientist, a technologist, an engineer, a doctor, a professor or a businessman. But the most required thing of a person is that he should be a good human being. Whatever be you status, ensure a human face and be an ambassador of happiness.
Health: One you ensure all the above, you may not have stress or strain. You are bound to live a healthy life, Only a happy person can keep himself /herself healthy.
Health is the real wealth. An organization full of healthy people can generate a goodwill and enthusiasm. Which will result in better productivity facilitating better living conditions and happiness for all.  –(Courtesy : Yuva Bharathi)
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
With blessing and not with cursing, should be preserved all these various steps through which humanity has to pass. Therefore all these dualistic systems have never been rejected or thrown out, but have been kept intact in the Vedanta and the dualistic conception of an individual soul, limited yet complete in itself, finds its place in the Vedanta.

Portraits
What is p Portrait?

A Portrait is an image of a particular person. A portrait is not simply an accurate record of the shapes that make a face; rather it tells us something about the person behind the face. It catches the personality as well as looks. We usually think of a painting but portraits can also be sculptures. Drawings, prints or photographs.
Portraits are fascinating as works of art. They are of great interest as historical records . several countries have a National Portrait Gallery that collects and displays images of its famous men and women. The Greeks and Romans were the first great portraitists. Very few paintings from ancient times have survived, but fortunately there are vivid portrait sculptures of such famous personalities as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar.
During the Middle Ages, when almost all art was religious, hardly any portraits were produced, but portraiture became popular again, during the Renaissance. At first only high ranking people had their portraits painted or sculpted. A king would want the artist to make him look powerful and perhaps rather frightening-someone who was a fit and proper person to govern. He would dress very splendidly to stress his wealth and position. Gradually however, portraiture spread to others ranks of society and became much more varied.
The self-image of the sitter Most Portraits are commissioned buy the sitter rather than done for the artist’s own satisfaction. Therefore, the artist has to bear in mind how the sitter wants to appear to the world. Some portraits show the sitters recognizably , but make them look more handsome or elegant than they are in real life.
Jigsaw Puzzles
The first known published crossword puzzle was created by a journalist named Arthur Wayne from Liverpool, and he usually credited as the inventor of the popular word game. it appeared n a Sunday newspaper , the New York world on 21 December 1913
Jigsaw Puzzles were first made in the 1760s when European mapmakers posted maps onto wood and cut them into small pieces. This dissected map’ became a very successful education tool. It had been used in many schools to help children with their geography.

The 18th century inventors of jigsaw puzzles would be amazed to see the transformations of the last 230 years. Children’s puzzles have changed from educational toys to entertainment, showing different subjects such as animals, nursery rhymes and modern tales of super heroes and Disney. But the biggest surprises for the early puzzle makers would be how adults have taken to puzzles over the last century. Puzzles for adults started about 1901 and by 1908 they had become a full –blown craze. However, would puzzles were expensive and now jigsaws are made from printed paper pasted onto cardboard. Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta

I find this formula applies all the way. The more concentrated and quieted the mind becomes the finer it become the finer this universe appears to be. A time comes when your mind attains to a great state of calmness and becomes very fine in its nature; the whole universe then seems to have come together into one entity with the thread of divine presence passing though all the forms just as it says in the Bhagavad-Gita. You find that God comes so close to you that He saturates everything every where, lie the insinuating presence of a perfume. And as regards yourself, you no longer feel identified with the body and the mind. The sense of time and space begins to dissolves away you walk ten miles and it seems as if you have walked only half a mile. Time passes and you do not recognize that many houses have gone. Similarly, the things you do no longer have the same tiring effect. Altogether you find the tempo of the universe has changed. Night and day, the passing of the seasons, the condition of the weather -none of these have the same effect on you at all. You are no longer tied down to changes into the outside world. Living Forever

No man stands alone. Through al the centuries of recorded time,, men have set into motion influences that affect our  life today. The distilled experience of many men has resulted in discoveries like the art of mature living. We are the heirs of the ages. Men reaching for the stars have created for us a world of wonders and challenge. We must realize that life is too short to be wasted in hatred, revenge, fault finding. Prejudice. Intolerance and destruction. Only an affirmative approach inspires progress. We should cultivate a calm nature, expectant of good. Living in us are the ideals of the daring explorers and pioneers, the fighters for freedom through all history. One more intimate note, our mother ,father, teacher, saints, and friend have built their influences into our character. We must realize that more enduring than skyscrapers, bridges, places, of worship and others materials symbols of man’s achievement are the invisible monuments of wisdom, inspiration and example erected in the hearts and minds fo men. Example has immortal momentum. It has been truly said that a boy does not have to be shown a mark on the wall to measure up to, when there is a man around about the size he wants to be .For instance, Mentor Graham, teacher of Lincoln , is forgotten but his influence lives forever in the Man for the Ages.
Words are charged with everlasting power. The radiant works of the Sermon on the Mount light the spirit of each generation. The axioms of the great inspire men to “rise n the steppingstones of their dead selves to higher things” Simple words expressing courage, faith and love have immortal significance in the lives of millions . so our example , our words our ideas, our ideals can also be projected into the future to live forever in the lives of others.
As we help people to grow, as we work for peace, understating and goodwill our influence will merge with the good influences of men of ever age, into the eternal stream of God’s goodness. As we throw the weight of our influence on the side of the good, the true and the beautiful, our life will achieve an endless splendor. It will go n in others, bigger, liner and nobler than we ever dared to be. Courtesy wisdom
Sun’s Magnetic Heartbeat
Scientist claim to have discovered a magnetic “Solar heartbeat” in the Sun’ deep interior, that generates energy which leads to solar fares and Sunspots. This heart beat also could be similar to human and animal heart beat ratio
Researchers developed a new supercomputer simulation to probe the Sun’s periodic magnetic field reversals. According to the model, every 40 years the Suns’ zonal magnetic field beds switch their polarity. Scientist reiterated that eh cycle is about four times longer than the 11-years Sunspot cycle that governs the level of solar activity.
The new study was conducted by the university of Montréal’s Paul Charbonneau’s. It described that modeling the Sun has been a sticky problem for decades.
The first attempts were made in 1980’s . they captured only a rough approximation of the turbulence inside the Sun.
Turbulence happens at both large and small scales. When energy from turbulence dissipates, the turbulence flows into smaller and smaller whirlpool shapes, called Vortices. On the Sun, dissipation takes place at a scale of tens of yards that is extremely minute , compared with the huge size of the Sun compared to the Earth. Courtesy wisdom
Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
Now, all of you have read some text books on Vedanta, and you know that they lay down certain conditions, that must be met before anyone is accepted as a student of Vedanta. In India even now, if you were to go to an orthodox Vedantic teacher he would not accept you as his pupil unless you had fulfilled all these conditions; first , perfect self-control, control over your senses and over your mind, second you should not have any desire for enjoying pleasures either in this life or in lives to come on in heaven. Then, you must have a strong sense of the distinction between the real and the unreal; you should be able to put one thing against other, the real against what hasn’t
any substance, any reality. Y our mind must have learned to look at every thing in this way. Finally, thee should be an intense desire to become liberated from the bondage of ignorance. These are the conditions you have to fulfill before you can be accepted by any orthodox teacher.
Of course things have changed. You see intellect has gone far ahead of life in almost every part of the world. We can think about most profound things, but we cannot live up to them at all. Our life has become undisciplined, our intellect is not satisfied with anything less than the highest philosophy. There has been this strange situation for quite some time. We know about may things, and we thing things out because we want to be rational, then we also want to live a life in accord with our intellectual conviction,. Yet the art of living so is a very strenuous art, and you cannot practice this art unless you have discipline yourself severely, but that discipline we do not want to accept. I admit the old orthodox way is no longer possible. Besides, books on Vedanta have been translated and published, and if you say, “Don’t read them” no one will listen to you One I told a young man not to read touch certain books. So the first thing he did on going home was to gathered those books and read them. you see, that is the attitude. You will read the, and there you have it. Yet if this gap between life and conviction can be filled, then we shall have an extraordinary generation of people , or generations of people, the like of which was never even dreamed of in the olden times. But this fact will always remain.; if you study Vedanta and if its truth is to become a reality in your life, then you have to undertake spiritual  discipline. And this of course is where religion comes in. courtesy View of Vedanta when the many become one.

But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Seven secrets for successful in Love

1.      Power of thought. We become what we think about Loving thoughts create loving impressions and loving relationships. Loving thoughts will change our attitude about ourselves and others.
2.      Power of respect: You cannot love anyone or anything unless you first respect them. The first person you need to respect is yourself. To being to gain self-respect, ask yourself “What do I respect about my self? To gain respect for others, ask yourself “What do I respect about them?
3.      Power of giving: if you want to receive love, all you have to do is give it! The more love you give, the more you will receive. To love is to give of yourself an unconditionally, Practice acts of kindness. Before committing to a relationship ask not what the other person will be able to give you, rather ask what you will give him. The secret formula of a happy , life long, loving relationship is t always focus on what you can give instead of what you can receive.
4.      Power of friendship: to find true love, you must first find a true love; you must first find a true friend. Love does into consists of gazing into each others eyes but rather looking out ward together in the some direction. To love someone completely you must love him for what he is rather than what he looks like. Friendship is the soil through which love’s seeds grow. If you want to bring love into a relationship, you must firs bring love into friendship
5.      Power of communication: When we learn to communicate openly and honestly , life changes. To love someone is to communicate with each other. .Let the people you love know that you love them and appreciate them. Never let an opportunity pass to praise someone. always leave someone you love with a loving word.
6.
Power of commitment: if you want to have love in abundance;, you must be committed to it and that commitment will be reflected in your thoughts and actions commitment is the true test of love. If you want to have loving relationships, you must be committed to loving relationships. When you are committed to someone or something , quitting is never an option.
7.      Power of trust. Trust is essential in all loving relationships. Without it one person becomes suspicious, anxious and fearful and the other person feels trapped and emotionally suffocated. You cannot love someone completely unless you trust them completely. Act as if your relationships with the person you love will never end. (Condensed) Courtesy Internet
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
            RELIGION OF LOVE
Just as it is necessary for a man to go through symbols and ceremonies first, in offer to arrive at the depth of realization, so we say in India. ‘It is good to be born in a church but bad to die in one’ A sapling when it becomes a tee, a hedge would be a hindrance. So there is no need to cirticise and condemn the old forms we forget that in religious there must be growth.
At first we think of a Personal God, and call Him Creator, Omnipotent, Omniscient, and so forth. But when love comes. God is only love. The loving worshiper does not care what God is, because , he wants nothing from Him, says an Indian saint ‘I am no beggar!’
Neither dos he fear. God is loved as a human being.
Here are some of the systems founded on love (1) Shanta, common peaceful love with such thoughts as those of fatherhood and help; (20 Dasya, the ideal of service, God as master of general or sovereign, giving punishments and rewards; (3) Vatsays, God as mother or child, In India the mother never punished. In each of these stages, the worshipper forms and ideal of God and follows. It . Then (4) Sakhya, God as friend. There is no fear here . there is also the feeling of equality and familiarity. There are some Hindus who worship God as friend and playmate. Next comes (5) Madhura, sweetest love, the love of husband and wife . of this St Teresa and the ecstatic saints hat been examples
Amongst the Persians. God has been looked upon as the wife, amongst the Hindus as the husband. We ma recall the great queen Mira Bai. Who peahced that the Divine Spouse was all . Some carry this to such an extreme that to call God ‘mighty’ or ‘father’ seems to them blasphemy. The language of the worship is erotic , \Some even use that of illicit passion. To this cycle belongs the story of Krishna and his Gopi-girls. All this probably seems to you to entail great degeneration on the worshipper. And so it does . yet many great saints have been developed by it. And no human institution is beyond abuse. Would you cook nothing because there are beggars? Would you possess nothing because there are thieves? O beloved, one kiss of Thy lips, once tasted , hath mad me mad!
The fruit of this idea is that one can no longer belong to any sect, or endure ceremonist. Religion in India culminates in freedom. But even this comes to be given up, and al is love, for love’s same.
(7) Last of all comes love without distinction, the Self. There is a Persian poem that tells how a lover came to the door of his beloved, and knocked. She asked. Who art thou? And he replied. ‘I am so and so they beloved! And she answered only ‘God! I know one such! But when she had asked for the fourth time, he said, I am thyself, O my beloved, therefore open thou to me! And the door was opened.
A great saint said, using the language of a girl, describing love. Four eyes met. There were changes in two souls. And now I cannot tell whether he is a man and I a woman, or he is a woman and I a man. This only I remember, two souls were . Love comes, and there was one.
In the highest love, union is only of the spirit. All love of any other kind is fast evanescent. Only the spiritual  lasts, and this grows. Courtesy Bhakti or devotion
