A True Leader

Monday 16 June 2014
A
True Leader
A crucial part of the success equation of a person demands that the aspirant need to be lightly intelligent, skilled knowledgeable and experienced as well as energetic determined, forceful and charismatic. Analytical reasoning, big picture thinking, visionary mindset and inherent charisma are needed to lead a team. But is that all? Is it enough to have technical and cognitive sills alone? What about the emotional aspect?
The fact is that even a high degree of emotional intelligence is the major differentiating factor that can transform with technical and cognitive skills into a true leader. Sometimes we come across people with high I.Q levels still struggling in their work. Even extraordinary talent is often rendered useless sans the key ingredient of emotional perspicacity
Emotional intelligence helps: emotional quotient encompasses awareness of one’s own emotions and their effect on others as well as how to manage and restrain those emotions in a healthy and productive manner. It emotions is handled properly, it enables one to foresee how people react to it so that it enables people to build good rapport , trust, relationships, and networks, . When a person is emotionally mature and also capable of balancing himself, the person be able to become more inspired. Optimistic , resilient and adaptable . He /she can become more open to change, more people –skilled. Therefore it becomes easier to lead and inspire efficient teams towards achieving the set goals, in  Addition to it, the person may become more dependable due to consistency, good judgment and the ability to do the right thing at
the right time.
Though emotionally intelligent leaders look to soft, and nice, they can confront sticky situations with extreme self confidence and behave assertively when necessary. But does this mean to say that good technical skills are irrelevant? No, they are essential drivers of a leader. According to Daniel Goleman, the author of Emotional intelligence and co –author of Primal Leadership, they do matter but mainly they are threshold capabilities as they are entry level requirements for executive positions. But without emotional intelligence, as the study suggests, is the sine qua non of leadership, it can make one a star. The success of many leaders in various field proves that emotional intelligence is the most essential ingredient of excellent performance . so be emotionally balanced and intelligent besides cultivating technical skills to become a good leader.
Q
uote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
I don’t believe that there will come a time when all the evil in the world will vanish. How could that be? This stream goes on Massess of water go out at one end, but masses are coming in at the other end.
The Vedanta says that you are pure and perfect, and that there is a state beyond good and evil, and that is your own nature; it is higher even than good . Good is only a lesser differentiation than evil.
We have no theory of evil. We call it ignorance,
So far as it goes all dealing with other people , all ethics, is in the phenomenal world. As a most complete statement of truth  , we could not think of applying such thins as ignorance to God. Of him we say that He is existence . knowledge and Bliss Absolute. Every effort of thought and speech will make the Absolute phenomenal and break . its character
T
here is one thing to be remembers. That the assertion –I am God-cannot be made with regard to the sense world. If you say in the sense-world that you are God, what is to prevent your doing wrong? So, the affirmation of your divinity. Applies only to the nominal. If I am God, I am . beyond the tendencies of the senses and will not do evil. Morality of course is not he goal of man, but that means through which this freedom is attained  . the Vedanta says that yoga is one way that makes men realize this divinity . the Vedanta says this is done by realization of the freedom within and that everything will give way to that . morality and ethics will all range themselves in their proper places.
We have a place for struggle in the Vedanta , but nor for fear. All fears will vanish when you begin to assert your own nature. If you think that you are bound, bound you will remain, if you think you are free, free you will be
That sort of freedom which we can feel when we are yet in the phenomenal is a glimpse of the real but not yet the real.
There is really no difference between matter, mind, and Spirit. They are only different phases of experiencing . one This very world is seen by the five senses as matter, by the very wicked as hell, by the good as heaven, and by the perfect as God.

IF HE EXIST

I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting seven precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting seven minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste seven minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 7minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Shatter your limitation

Monday 9 June 2014
Shatter your limitation
In Japan fly-circus is an interesting item in carnivals. There you can see the flies making terrific leaps. But surprisingly they never go beyond a predetermined height. Each fly seems to fear an invisible ceiling and a barrier all around. Reason? These flies are kept in a big transparent glass dome for several days right from their infant stage therefore even after the glass dome is removed they think that the glass dome is still there and they would never go beyond the are of that imaginary glass dome!
Unfortunately many people are like these flies , who are afraid of crossing their invisible limits. It is because these people were conditioned in their childhood by their parents and elders to form the habit of self-limitation. Even after becoming an adult and even though there is absolutely no restriction at all they do not cross their imaginary barrier.
Don’t let this happened to you expand your horizon and shatter your imaginary barriers and self limitation.

Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
Can one be scientific and yet spiritual? The simple answer to the question , this very important question of our age is an emphatic “yes” it is perfectly possible to be scientific and spiritual simultaneously.
It is not only possible it is also desirable. It is not only desirable, but urgently so. In fact to be both is one of the most compelling challenges facing mankind today.
If in our individual and collective lives we fail to be both scientific and spiritual , any meaningful survival of mankind could very well be extremely doubtful.
Human destiny is no longer any exclusive speculative concern of some self-forgetting philosophers.
It has become everyone personal concern. What happens to mankind affects you and me. What you and I think and do affects mankind, common men and women though we may be . by being truly scientific and yet spiritual we can make the present and future of man abundant and meaningful . this will require proving , theoretically though at this stage.

give as the rose gives perfume because it is its own nature utterly unconscious of giving

We can give nothing to God; He gives all to us.
Books are useless to us until our own book opens.
Read man he is the living poem
Only grandeur appreciates grandeur only God realizes God
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. This sentence alone would save mankind if all books and prophets were lost.

Power of Observation

Monday 2 June  2014
Power of Observation
A great part of education is the cultivation of the faculty of observation. The value of observation was introduced to the reading public in an interesting form by Sir a. Conan Doyle when he created his famous character of Sherlock Holms would notice a speak of mud on a man’s shoe and concluded from that how for the man had traveled that day.  .
Houdini the great illusionist. Brought out the powers of observation in his son in an ingenious way. He placed several small objects on a tray, and instructed his son to look at the tray and its contents for a minutes . then he threw a cloth over it, and asked the boy to write down the names of the objects which he had noticed,.
Keen observation is the most useful quality to possess. The employee who notices how and where improvements can be made gets the ear of his employer and is marked for promotion the power of observation, even in cases where it is naturally small, can be developed.
God knows it and I know it
A gentleman was once visiting a temple under construction. In the temple premises, he se a sculptor making an idol of God . Suddenly , he saw , just a few meters away another identical idol lying. Surprised , he asked the sculptor, “Do you need two idols of the same God?”
“No” , said the sculptor “we need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage, so I am making another one.”
The gentleman walked up to the other idol and examined it no apparent damage was visible. Where is the damage?” he asked the sculptor.
There is a scratch on the nose”, replied the sculptor.
“Where are you going to keep the idol?” the gentleman asked.
“The idol will be on a pillar of 20 feet high” the sculptor replied.
“When the idol will be 20 feet away, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the noe?” the gentleman asked.
The sculptor looked at the gentleman, smiled and said. “The God knows it and I know it

Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
We all now take up the beliefs about mind, soul and God. According to the universally accepted Sankya psychology, in perception- in the case of vision , for instance-there are, first of all, the instruments of vision, the eyes, Behind the instruments-the optic nerve and its centers-which is not the external instrument , but without which the yes will not see. More still is needed of perception. The mind or Manas must come and attach itself to the organ. And besides this the sensation must be carried to the intellect or Buddhi the determinative , reactive state of the mind. When the reaction comes from Buddhi , along with it flashes the external world and egoism. Here then is the will; but everything is not complete . just as every picture, being composed of successive impulses of light, must be united on something stationary to form a whole , so all the ideas in the mind must be gathered and projected on something that is stationary-relatively to the body and mind-that is on what is called the soul or Purusha or Atman.
