Get up and Fight Again
Boxers in the ring leach us a valuable lesion.
When one boxer is knocked out bleeding and exhausted, he gets up before the
referee counts up to 10 and restarts his fight . the profound lesion the boxer offers
here is : Get up and fight again.
George Bernard Shaw remarked, “He who flees
from the battlefield lives to fight another day “So it is in problems of life. It
might be brave to hold on but it is far more sensible to make a tactical
retreat and again equip oneself to fight another day” So, it is in problems of
life. It might be brave to hold on but it is far more sensible to make a
tactical retreat and again equip oneself to fight another day. Take the big
trees on high mountains. When furious winds blow, they stand erect again. Some nourish
their failure and grief till a time came when they could not live with their
dark emotion or poison of strong passion. Such people are the washouts of
society. They may applaud themselves for embracing their failures and grief but
had they let go and yoked again, they would have found meaning in life. From sadness
to smiles is a short distance. A fundamental law of nature is change. Most
young men. And women fail to understand its application in everyday life. If they
ponder over, they will find it working on failure and success. Young men and
women is relation to their career, social, domestic and personal problems have
chosen to embrace the negative. They show no guts to step out of the shadows. Not
finding solution to their problems , they delude themselves with the highly misleading
notion that it is brave to be bold. It is far more sensible to switch gear.
Very little they realise that inspiring is the image of the person fighting
against adversity and against destiny throwing a challenge to the mighty Gods .
It takes more courage to admit defeat temporarily , submit to the
inevitable , re gather, scattered strands of life and time them into a durable
rope. So we must realize that as long as we have life, even if the going is
stiff at times and the forces of fate are working against us, there is always a chance. But if we stubbornly exhaust our energy in wild goose
chases, hug illusions and lay waste our powers, we lose the strength to live.
There are times when it takes more courage and it is more advantageous to let
go. In such circumstances, it is sheer stupidity to hold on blindly. It may
be better to make a new go. Doing so, your thinking becomes cleaner and you embark
up on a fresh lie with a new confidence.
Quote from the True charm and Power of Vedanta
When we serve for the sake of serving, when we
love for the joy of loving, when we act without selfish motive, we become ideal
characters. Those who are sincere, pure-hearted, true lovers of their fellowman
never hurt any one by thought, word or deed. According to the Vedic teaching.
Doing good to others is the only virtue, injuring another is the only vice; He
who hurts no living creature by his thoughts , his words or his actions is
indeed a saint and a true representative of religion, whether or not he ever enters
a place of worship
Every act of our life can be done in such a
way as to uplift us or to drag us down. It is not what we do but how we do it
that determines the merit of each action. Therefore we must learn to live and
work with humility , non-attachment, sympathy and selfless love. When all these
are combined in our efforts to serve God and our fellow-beings, the alone we
are serving truly. And such service is the highest aim of human life.
But, if He exists?
I drive joy There
was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for
mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One
day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he
had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not
exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am
afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes
rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I
derive 4m.
