Everything Is
In His Hands
A man just got married and was returning home
with his wife. They were crossing a lake in a boat when suddenly a great storm arose.
The man was a warrior, but the woman became very much afraid because it seemed
almost hopeless-the boat was small and the storm was really huge, and any
moment they were going to be drowned. But the man sat silently, calm and quiet,
as if nothing was happening.
The woman was trembling and she said, “Are
you not afraid? This may be our last moment of life! It doesn’t seem that we
will be able to reach the other shore. Only some miracle can save us, otherwise
death is certain. Are you not afraid? Are you mad?
The man laughed and took the sword out of its
sheath. The woman was even more puzzled. Then he brought the naked sword close
to the woman’s neck-so close that just a small gap was there, it was almost
touching her neck. He asked “Are you afraid?”said “why should I be afraid? If the
sword is in your hands why should I be afraid? I know you love me.
He put the sword back and said “This is my
answer. I know God loves me, and the sword in His hands, and the storm is in
His hands so whatsoever is going to happen is gong to be good. if we survive ,
good, if we don’t survive , good because everything is in his hnds, and he will
not do anything wrong “Such tremendous trust is capable of transforming your whole
life! Courtesy The Vision
Unity
I know that my unity with all people cannot
be destroyed by national boundaries and government orders. Leo Tolstoy.

the True charm and power of Vedanta
The Vital
Role of Imagination in Physical Science
As I said earlier about physical science, the
scientist who want to know the truth about nature must have a basic conviction that
there is truth hidden in nature with that conviction alone can he become a
discover of the truth of nature. Otherwise, he will remain a mere scientific scholar;
he may quote scientific opinions on various subjects; but he cannot become a
scientist himself.
The sooner we realize this truth about
physical science-that pure science is the product of some deep faith within the
scientist, faith in himself and in the truthfulness of nature-the better we
shall understand the spirit of physical science and its close kinship with the other
two disciplines in the pursuit of truth and human excellence, namely , art and religion,
in which faith, in the form of kalpana, or imagination, plays a greater role
than reason.
Thus apart from intellect or reason that
function in the discovery of truth in physical science, imagination also plays
a vital part in all great scientific discoveries, imagination is what helps critical
reason to develop into creative intuition. In the discovery of the universal
truth of gravitation by Newton, in the development of relativity and quantum
theories in twentieth-century physics into eh discovery and demonstration of
the unity of plants and animals and of the living and the non-living by Sir J,
C, Bose and in several other instances, we can see this creative play of imagination
and its intuitive by-products, which are vital ingredients of sraddha, or
faith. Seeing a particular apple falling Newton could make this inductive jump
to the cosmic level that the same force of gravitation is what makes the moon
fall towards the earth, what
makes for the movements of all the planets and
stars , and what reveals itself as a universal force exerted by every material
body on other bodies in the universe. Courtesy science and Religion
But, if He
exists?
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening
for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him.
One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something,
which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does
not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But if He exists? I am
afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes
rather than a lifetime.
Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I
derive 4m.
