You must Not Trust Every Word
“You must no trust every word or impulse, but
cautiously and patiently weigh the matter.
“Perfect men do not easily believe every tale
teller; for they know human weakness is prone to evil, and very apt to slip in
speech
It is great wisdom not to be rash in what is to be
done, and not to insist on our own opinion.
It is a part of the wisdom, also, not to believe
everything men say, or straightway to pur into the ears. Of others what we have
heard or believed.
Take counsel of a wise and conscientious man, and
seek rather to be instructed by one who is better than to follow your own
invention
Duties of Free Men
Guard all the freedoms of democracy as you guard
your life, but never forget that to abuse them is to destroy them.
Do not ask government to do anything you can do for yourself. The bigger the
government the smaller the people.
Do not rely on somebody else to do your thinking
for you . democracy demands mental alertness from those who deserve to have it.
Protect your right to be governed by men of you
choice by choosing them with the same care that you do your friends.
Protect your own right to be wrong by decent
respect for the opinions of others.
Strive for new ways to spread the benefits and
ownership of our industrial democracy and to give everyone a greater sense of
participation and accomplishment. Heed the rule of democracy that it works best
from the bottom up. When it works well at the community level, it will function
smoothly of the top.
Remember hat change and experiment are the foods on
which democracy thrives. But do not renounce proven good for an empty promise.
Remember that the bargain counter days for
democracy are over, and that our democracy is on display before a questioning
world. Each of us is its custodian.
Inspirational quote
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
The fruit of knowledge is being stated; Acquiring
which etc. Acquiring attaining which knowledge you will no more get deluded on
account of the destruction etc. of relatives and so forth. Thee reason is being
stated; by which knowledge you will see all creatures, fathers and sons, the
creations of your own ignorance, in yourself, as identical with you. And then
see yours in Me, the supreme Self, as identical with Me.
The emperor of the three worlds is caught in the
snare of Maya. Forgetting his Real Nature and going round round and round in
this samsara he almost loses his consciousness
Everyone sings the glory of the heart , because is
it dwelling place of God. If you want to interact with Him, the you must turn
our mind within.
What a great delusion that eh Supreme Self, the
knower of past present and future, has assumed the form of jiva and working
like a slave under the delusive power of maya, forgets His real glory.
