It is The Hour of Trial That Makes Men Great

“The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory”. There is a wealth of truth in this ancient saying. The human being  has the tendency to want  everything going the way he feels it ought to go , and if things are not going that way then life becomes difficult. It appears that we have been programmed into wanting  everything RIGHT NOW, this moment, not  a second later. We just cannot wait for anything . Science and technology have made everything instant and immediate. We want a hight position at work, but are not prepared to go through the hardship of climbing the leader of success, instead we search for an elevator. We want to be loved and have our ideas respected to the ideas of others.

To carve a beautiful statue, just see how much the sculptor has to hammer and chisel away at the stone. Everything requires efforts and it is those very efforts that endow you with the qualifications for holding the position you desire or even for seeing your “dream come true”. It is those very hardships that give you the strength to go ahead and the determination to succeed. . without the pitfalls how would you be able to value your achievement? If the fruit simply falls from the tree, you  discard it as a rotten fruit. When you pick it yourself it seems so sweet. After all, it is the hour of trial that makes men great. The Vedanta recognise no sin, it only recognises error. And the greatest error, says  the Vedanta , is to say that you are weak, that you are a sinner, a miserable creature, and that you have no power and you cannot do this and that. Every time you think in that way, you , as it were, rivet one more link in the chain that binds you down, you add one more layer of hypnotism on to your own soul.

I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
