Slow Me Down, Lord!
Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my min. Steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time.
Give me, amidst the confusion of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of nerves and muscles, with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory.
Help me to know the magical restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking minute vacations… of slowing down to look at flower, to chat with a friend, to pat a dog, to read a few lines from a good book. Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and tortoise, that I may know that the race is not always to the swift, that there is more to life than measuring its speed.
Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down. Lord , and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the starts of my greater destiny.
Popular Song
‘ Happy Birthday To You’ is the most popular song in the world. It was originally written by two school teachers, Mildred and Patty Hill.
Life is the art of drawing sufficient conclusions from insufficient premises.
I always try to believe the best of everybody- its save so much trouble.
Reason often makes mistakes , but conscience never does.
Every person is a volume if you know how to read him/her.
We are most nearly ourselves when we achieve the seriousness of the child @play.
HOUR OF WATCHING
BRAVE heart, tired soul, remain awake a while longer, a while longer the hour of watching is almost over it will end,
And its end will bring thee gladness and rest.
Samrat is a 24 yr old HR professional. On a regular day he 10 am and logs in, going into various online communities and chat-rooms. He leaves office around 6:30pm and logs in as soon as he reaches home. He is online almost as long as he is awake. Samrat is only one of the numerous people who live more in the virtual world than in the real one around them Samrat knows that.” Life is hectic and it’s very difficult for me to visit and call up my friends on a regular basis. It is far easier to keep in touch with them on line, since most them are on line too. But it is true that the virtual world is becoming very real for us. We are moving away from the world around us.” he says
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the ten minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha
