Secret of Leadership
According to Professor Cyril Northcote Prksinson, Britih historian and author, known for study of business world, the secret of leadership is composed of the following Seven components.
Imagination:- can be described as an ability to form clearly in the mind alternative goals, It helps a leader to choose wisely in his planning and execution. In the final attainment ,one can reach the stage of a visionary-one who forms plans that are difficult to carry out.
Knowledge- is a priceless need of a leader. it is from the imaginative knowledge which he has collected in the past, that he can plan a course to reach his destination. Proper knowledge alone give the man required confidence to attain his goals. It is the lack of confidence that make people to show hot temper, indulge in fault-finding, and shouting techniques. The truth is, there are no bad workers-only bad leaders.
Ability is a skill , which a leader has in guiding other to perform their tasks to the best of their ability. This ability will make a leader do things which other people find difficult.
Determinations is the strong belief in one’s capacity to do the job . It sparks in the followers the necessary confidence to do their job well.
Acing strictly is rejected quality in our society . One cannot achieve distinction without this quality for the following reason.
(a) The idle, the disloyal and the fake have to be removed. (b) Where such elements are not controlled , it is the willing and able persons who have to bear all the burden. This is a situation that cannot last long, without affecting the confidence of the willing workers. (c) Organizational ability can only be improved by rewarding the fit and punishing the unfit, (d) Due credit, must be given, otherwise it will be meaningless to be creditworthy.
Attraction is necessary to command attention. If the leader is not visible, he is not heard. Since it is not practicable to be present everywhere in today’s world of massive bigness, it is better to be talked about. People talk about the man who do the uncommon and the unexpected.
Art. Professor Parkinson did not believe in the theory that leadership is a quality with which the man is born . Nor, it can be learnt in school and colleges. Leadership is an art that can be acquired with effort.
Man who Learns From Success And Failures.
The man who is discouraged by his mistakes and by opposition he is dulled. The man who learns from both success and failure –he is sharpened .
Any good that you do, do it now. Do not delay it, for you will not pass this way again.
God is Not Unjust
Remember that God is neither partial nor unjust. Remember that God is not responsible for the wealth of a man or the poverty of another . You suffer on account of your own wicked action.
True Greatness
Keep your mind closed to every undesirable , destructive and depressing thought. There is no altitude too high for your aim and aspiration. As you daily develop increased power you will be better ready for increased service. Remember true greatness is expressed in love , reverence, honor and nobility.
Your Environment Will Control You
In the end your environment will control you ; there fore , make sure that you control your environment . Avoid situations, acquaintances, associates, who tend to hold you back.

How to Mange Your Stress?
A lecture was giving a lecture to his students on stress management.
He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, “How heavy do you think this glass of water is?’ The students” answers ranges from 17 to 400 gm.
“It does not matter on this absolute weight . It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute , it is O.k If I hold it for an hour. I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will have to call on ambulance. It is exactly the same weight , but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. “
If we carry our burdens all the time, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier. What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again.
We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.
So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down.
Don’t carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment. Pick it up again later when you have rested . Rest and relax . Life is short enjoy it!
Adversity causes most men to break and a few break records.

Steady your mind
Unless you meditate , the mind cannot be controlled, and unless the mind is controlled, you cannot meditate, but if you think. What is life?
Man comes into this world without his consent ,and leaves it against his will. When he is little, the big girls kiss him and when he is big, the little girls kiss him. If he makes a lot of money , he is dishonest. If he is poor, he is a bad manager. If he needs credit, he cannot get it. If he is rich everyone wants to do something for him. If he is religious, he is hypocrite. If he does not go to Temple, he is hardened sinner. If he give to charity, it is for show. If he does not, he is a stingy person. If he dues young, there was a great future before him. If he lives to ripe age, he is an old fellow. If he saves money , he is a miser. If he spends , he is spendthrift. Such is life.
Positive thinking and successful living.
If you are going to build a house, the first thing you would do is to start clearing the land. You would never dream of starting to build on a site that is filled with rubbish.
Positive thinking cannot be achieved without hard work. To be effective, positive thinking must be regarded as a new life style, replacing the rubbish in the mind piled up over the years. We are all conditioned by our past. We hold many opinion and prejudices. For our past failures, we build up a pile of excuses so that when we want to try something new. The selfish ego holds on to these excuses. So in the first place, we must remove all the negatives from our minds.
For example , if you are feeling sad, tell yourself in detail how much there is to be cheerful about and thankful for. If you feel lonely , choose and interesting task and think how valuable it is to be able to work without interruption. Always try to substitute a strong, positive picture for the negative one in your mind.
At the end of each day, list all the happy things that have taken place. Remember that it has been a fine day. Get rid of the useless waste which can be poisonous if you let it accumulate.
Dr David Schwartz, a writer in psychology, says: “Of all living creatures probably not ones in ten million is a happy human being.” Talk the way you would like to be , and you will be the way you talk. This slogan should be written in block letter and kept always before you. Talk courageously, and you will be brave. If you want to be a leader, speak with confidence, if you want friends be sure all your words are friendly.
You talk the way you are. If you want to be different, alter your speech. Watch for revealing negative words and change them to positive ones at once. There is a positive side to everything. A new word means a new picture and a new picture means a new life.
In your efforts to improve, go slowly and do not bite off too much at once. Mental food takes the same processing as any other, it must be chewed well and digested before we try to take in any more. A statement like. “Today I am going to learn and grow, is good”. Affirm it and hold it for a day. When tomorrow comes, take it again a new day.
Power of Positive Thoughts.
Men are taught from childhood that they are weak and sinners. Teach them that they re all glorious children of immortality. Let positive, strong, helpful thoughts enter into there brains from very childhood, Lay yourselves open to these thoughts and not to weakening and paralyzing ones. The infinite strength of the world is yours.

We naturally want to levitated to what success offers. It comes naturally for our curiosity, nature, appetite, hearts desire and purpose. Success for most of us means taking the high road, aspiring to something more and beyond, reaching ever-higher, to achieve, grow, expand and get better. It is ingrained and instilled in us almost.
Success is then typified as mastery and being in control of destiny, process and outcome, not feeling helpless, a victim of events, random chance and the like. Success embodies our wants, needs and desire as individuals, as human beings!
Living life to its fullest potential is at stake here. Success if mind over matter and within our every easy reach. It is about the balance between moral and ambition, regardless of your role, function or contribution in society. We all want to taste of success and be successful. We envision, crave and work (even manipulate if we have to) our way for and towards it.
Success is individual and unique and collective. Whether artiste, soldier, business executive, media representative, clerk, we all strive for a better life and getting ahead. It is common bond and factor we all share. Success is within reach of all, especially those who choose to embrace it fully. WE can make and claim our reality and destiny into being and some argue this is the only true path to success know and make happen what you are striving for, find and execute for SUCCESS! Success is waiting for you
You can start at ifanytime you want to be successful. But you have to start.
You would not accomplish anything if you wait for all the possible objections to be overcome. Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.
Don’t be afraid to live. Don’t wait for things to change. Don’t wait until you have more time. Until you are less tired. Until you get the promotion, until you settle down. Don’t wait for a major event in your life to occur you begin to live.
Begin where you are. Work where you are. The hour you are wasting now, dreaming of some far off success, is crowded with tremendous possibilities.
When you take the first step, your mind will mobilize all its forces to assist you. Once you have started, all that is within you and unknown forces around you will come to your assistance.
The only way to start on the road to success is to move your feet, one step at a time in the direction you want to go. Success is waiting for you.
Health and Happiness
The most relaxing recreating forces are a healthy religion , sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God-learn to sleep well-Love good music-See the funny side of life,-And health and happiness will be yours.
Work hard towards 100 per cent efficiency
Aim well in life and do anything extraordinary that ahs not been done before . set your heart to reach your goal. Let patient effort be your best friend . Determine to occupy a front seat in the drama of life.
Fill all your waking hours with useful thoughts and fruitful work. Tackle boldly your ‘today’s’ and plan your ‘tomorrows’ and march to excellence, the highest point of whatever you do.
You have to work hard to bring out the best in you. Heightens of great men reached and kept were attained by ceaseless effort and hard work. They burnt the midnight oil while others restfully slept.
Have some useful purpose, some new field of knowledge, some new interest for which you have the aptitude and aim at the top, you have the inborn God-given potentialities . you are flower which must not blush unseen and wast its sweetness in the desert air. Mediocrity has to perish, it has no place in live. It will only be your laziness and inaction which will not allow your inborn worth to flower into fruition.
Once you have chosen your goal, you must work always go forward upward and on ward on the path of progress that leads to the top, Success comes to people who do and dare.
Between two evils, choose , neither, between two goods choose both.
Sure ways to please people
Pleasing people does not mean flattery which is often false and indulged in for some selfish end.
Pleasing people means being pleasant to them rather than unpleasant , friendly instead of unfriendly, helpful, welcoming and cooperative, not indifferent to the presence and needs of others.
We are not likely to have genuine desire to please people if we are not interested in them. If we do not care and have no desire to develop points of contact, we will be too much wrapped up on ourselves to bother about pleasing anybody else.
This will arise only when it is only getting something we want instead of giving. When we are concerned with ourselves we desire to be ‘better’ and have ‘more’ than the ‘rest’. Such an attitude comes between us and others resulting in every and competition. Thus we are more likely to try to score over them then please them. Instead of being pleasant there is friction and conflict.
Being interested in people means looking outwards away from’ Us’ . We may forget about ourselves while we are interested in others and in what is going on around us. Because we are interested, it naturally comes to us to be cooperative and helpful.
Liking people always springs from interest in them. You cannot like people if you are indifferent . interest result in sharing of activity which provides opportunities to meet people and understand them better.
When we have fellow feeling for one another our words have the genuine element of truth about them and our actions harmonies with our words.
Liking people and experiencing fellow feelings for them helps us to see their problems clearly. We can understand when people are worried, recognize when they are tired and unwell.
To be able to put ourselves in the other fellow’s place and make allowances helps us avoid misunderstanding and friction. We encourage other when we show them that they are liked and wanted.

Karma Leads to Knowledge
A great confusion can arise if we don’t keep in mind that work is the only means to knowledge. All kinds of work, from the lowest to the highest , help us advance toward the attainment of knowledge if we do work without calculating our own gain and loss. Personal Power is the ability to control the environment around self and the behavior of others. Personal Power is an essential part of achievement. Nothing great can be achieved without the cooperation or contribution of others. That is where Personal Power takes on its meaning and importance.

Contrary to popular belief, Personal Power is not a gift that was randomly awarded to some and withheld from others. It is something that can be acquired and developed.

Personal Power may be influenced by the amount of money that a person has, it can also be the result of the social status or the occupation held. But the main generator of Personal Power is found in the person’s character. More specifically in the person’s leadership ability.

The greater the leadership ability, the greater the Personal Power. Luckily, leadership ability is something that can be acquired and improved. Anyone, regardless of age, race or gender, can become a leader. There is however a perquisite and that is self-confidence.

A leader can lack in expertise, some great leaders had limited formal education and all were not blessed with outstanding good looks. But the one thing that they all have in common is, self-confidence. No one will follow for a long time a would-be leader who has doubts about his capacities or is unsure of himself.

Self-confidence is not something that can be simulated. Either a person is self-confident or he is not. Whether the person is self-confident or not can be detected in the body language, in the choice of words used and in the overall demeanor.

Real self-confidence is the result of personal victories. To be more precise it is the result of the accumulation of ever larger and bigger victories. Even if these victories are not in related fields, each one contributes to the, “Yes I can.” feeling and is another stepping-stone toward acquiring self-confidence.

Another important factor in building self-confidence lies in the ability to become immune to the negative consequences of failures. The more involved a person gets, the more projects will go sour, the more failures will occur. Unless these setbacks are seen as learning experiences they will undermine any feeling of self-confidence a person may have.

A true leader will accept responsibility for any failure that comes up under his watch, learn from it and unwaveringly pursue his mission. Leadership is not for the timid soul or the faint of heart. Leadership is built on courage and fortitude. Qualities that everyone has and qualities that can be improved with determination, discipline and willpower.

Achievements need Personal Power. Personal Power is acquired through leadership. Leadership requires self-confidence. Self-confidence is acquired as results of the accumulation of victories. The formula is simple. The results are guaranteed. It all starts with victories, that is, special victories.

The victories that we have been alluding to here are victories over self. Victories won at the expense of others only mean that the opponent was inferior or less equipped. Victories over self are the true and self-confidence building ones. They are the mind expanding ones. The ones that show what we are really made of. The ones that will eventually give us Personal Power along with all the benefits that comes with it.
