Attachment & Detachment

Detachment is not detaching from the person whom we care about, but form the agony of involvement.

Attachment is not merely normal feeling of liking people or being concerned about problems. But it is becoming overly involved, sometimes hopelessly entangled.

Over involvement of any sort results in our focusing all our energies on people and problems leaving little for the business of living our own lives.

Whenever we become attached to someone or something, we become  detached from ourselves. We lose touch with ourselves. we forego our power and ability to thick, feel act and take care of ourselves. To fill the mind completely with another human, being or a problem is terrible thing to be caught up in. we can talk about nothing else, can think of nothing else. We have a problem or a concern that is not only bothering us , it sis controlling us.

This could be dealt in better way by being detached,. Detachment does not mean a cold, hostile withdrawal or a severing or relationships. Nor is it a removal of our love and concern. Each person is responsible for himself that if he cannot solve problems they are not ours to solve a  problem and then we stop worrying if we cannot solve a problem . we have done what we could . we learn to live with or in spite of that problem. We try to live happily focusssing heroically on what  is good in our lives today and feeling grateful for that

Detachment involves present moment living we allow life t happen instead of forcing and trying to control it. We do not regret over the past and fear about the future. We make most of the day.

Detachment does not mean we do not care it means we learn to love, care and be involved without going crazy. We are able to make good decisions about how to love people  and how to solve problems. We become free to care and to love in ways that help others and do not hurt ourselves.

Detachment also involves accepting reality . it requires faith in ourselves, in God in other people and in the destiny.

Rewards from detachment are .great serenity, a deep sense of peace, the ability to give and receive love and the freedom to find real solutions to our problems . sometimes detachment even inspire and frees people around us to begin to solve their problems. We mind our own craft or business.

We have known people who had to live with serious problems such as alcoholic spouse, a severely handicapped child and a teenager bent on destroying himself through drugs and criminal behavior! They grieved for their losses, they found a way to live their lives not in resignation or despair but with enthusiasm and peace.

By practice detachment can become a habitual response. It is difficult but it will become easier with practice.

When the Lord is pleased

When the Lord, who removes all difficulties, is pleased . man gets son of  a good character, a faithful wife, a pleased and satisfied employer, loving friend, trustworthy servant. A mind without worry, a good physique. Secure wealth. And a face shining with the light of knowledge.

We direct descendants of the Almighty, should not waste our energy for petty selfish ends, but we should learn to work without ulterior motive. Work always bears fruit. Work always creates . it can create freedom or it can create bondage. Both ways are open before us the path which causes suffering and the path which leads to eternal happiness and peace. True sincere souls continue to work , but their work releases them from all bondage.

 

 

IF HE EXIST

I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
