Do you keep persevering?

It is easy to keep trying when we are progressing and when we are encouraged by people’s appreciation of our efforts.

On the other had, we can experience discouraging periods when we feel we are making no progress and people are not interested in what we are doing.

We then need perseverance to stick to it. Here is a test for you to try. Answer “yes” or “No” to the questions before you turn to the key at the end.

Are you able to stand firm when facing criticism and disapproval?

Can you remain clam and refuse to be upset by opposition?

Can you make your point during a discussion?

Would you carry on if others belittle your ability to do something?

If you knew the odds were against you, would you carry on with a project you believed in ?

Do you make a point to finish anything you undertake to do?

Would you mind to put yourself to considerable inconvenience to keep a promise you had made?

Would you be willing to attend a long course of study to master a new subject?

Do you patiently collect and consider all the relevant factors before making an important t decision?

Are you  good at showing people how to do things?

Do you keep trying when things go wrong.

Are your difficulties a challenge to further effort?

Once you make up your mind, is it difficult to stop you?

You may take a long time to learn  anew subject but do you get it perfect in the end and never forget it?

Can your bear to be misunderstood and carry on in spite of it?

Count five marks for every “Yes” A score of 55 plus is very good and 45 to 55 may be counted good; 35 to 45 is satisfactory. Under 35 is snot satisfactory.

HOW TO BE HAPPY

Happiness lies within our own hearts. It is through our own efforts and beliefs that we can claim it. The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one has to do.

The main cause which leads to defeat is discontentment. All of us cannot be captains. Some of us must be crew. We must be quietly happy with our lots.

The other thing which contributes much to happiness is to adapt ourselves to the world as it really is . Happiness comes from working for the welfare and happiness of others.

The best way to be happy is to feel happy under all circumstance. Laugh a bit, for laughter is just the heart. Where its melody is heard, the ills of life shall get away.

Control your passions. Man’s happiness in this life consists in the mastery of his passions.

Picture some aim in life and try to get at it. Shed off the fears which you think you will have to meet while nearing your goal. Work is the key to happiness . failures and disappointments should serve as inspiration.

Sometimes get away form the weary cage of work and relax in Nature. You will escape boredom of life.

Perseverance, self –denial, love and fortitude are the elements out of which happiness is formed.

Always hold your position  in lie with dignity and selflessness. Know that you are a channel through which the Ideal is manifesting . Keep your self pure and one-pointed in your devotion, then there will be no difficulty give yourself wholly to Him, your body mind, heart, with all their power and possibilities. Let nothing ever distract your mind. Be an ideal devotee, and ideal disciple. Never forget that our indebtedness to our Master is incalculable. We can never do enough for Him and His cause. To please Him by our life is the greatest thing that we can do. To displease Him by thought , word or actin is our greatest misfortune.

Strive always to represent the Ideal in your life. Remember that tour mistakes  and unwise acts often throw a shadow on our ideal. Therefore how careful we ought to be to mould our characters in such a way that we may never hurt the ideal or give any wrong impression of it. Be always  careful and pray to God that no anxiety or disappointment may come through you. Surrender yourself entirely to Him; then there will be no danger, for His blessings will abide with you and protect you from every imperfection and danger.
