Do’s And Don’t’ For Self-improvement
Don’t think you are always right and you can ignore suggestions and criticism.
Do realize that it is wise to listen to others.
Do recognize that people are busy with their own affairs and it is improper to expect them to notice you all the time.
Don’t think you are a genius because you are successful.
Do recognize how such an attitude can make you careless and bring you down.
Don’t think you area failure because happening are not in your favour.
Do recognize that your popularity will quickly evaporate if you neglect to consider others.
Don’t think there is no more to learn when you have finished your formal education and settled in a job.
Do recognize that if you want to make the most of life you have to keep on learning.
Mealtime-Attitude
At meal-times, take time, now and then, to breathe deeply and ponder upon that which you eat. Always be happy and thankful at meal-times.
Ancient mystics deeply pondered this matter and left records among the Ancient Wisdom, declaring that all living vegetables that grow above the soil-stems, branches, fruits and foliage-are filled with large amounts of spiritual energy received from the sun, moister, nutrients and from the air. This energy flows through the whole plant and is vital for Man’s spiritual nature. Proper energy and vitality for the blood can be supplied only in tow ways;
1. Energy that is contained in the right type of food.
2. Energy sent into the body through breathing. (Courtesy East & West series)
If the person who serves the food is your friend, you, sitting at the end of the row won’t matter.
Live every day as if it were a heaven-sent gift; it is. And as fully as if it were your last day on earth; it could be.
Ever be Learning More
Do not think that you know everything, but ever be learning more, and let the learning touch most of the practical concerns of every day life.
I murmured because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.
Make it your business to know yourself. It is the most difficult lesion in the world.
Never lends books, for no one ever returns them; the books I have in my library are books that other folks have lent me.
When we sigh about our trouble it grows double everyday; when we laugh about our trouble it’s a bubble blown away.
Silent Victories
Whatever task that has to be done, always be dedicated, sincere and honest; for life’s noblest silent victories are won by the man who values integrity.
Anger is boomerang which always returns to injure the one from whom it originated.
Do not change Your Mind
Listen with respect t what other people have to say, but don’t change your mind, out of fear. What greater pleasure is there in life than to be bold? In every matter if we try to do what we think is right everything will go on all right.- Rajaji
Foolish Do Not Know The True Religion
Long is the right to him who is awake; long is a mile to him who is tired; long is the life to the foolish who do not know the true religion.
I am glorified
All this glory is Thine.
I am glorified in knowing this
Thine infinite glory.
Thou dost take our frail and flattering hands
To do Thy work
Our hands and hearts are strong
When they are Thy-keeping.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha
