Fire of Truth
Master
When the Fire of ‘Truth burns in the heart,
It purifies the heart.
When its spark comes out of the tongue,
It is vibrant with light.
Lo, it falls upon the ear that is not closed to the subtle, spiritual sound, like far-distant music,
Rousing the soul to a new world.
Fire of Truth,-when it burns in heart,
It purifies the heart.
When it burns in the mouth, it purifies the mouth,
It purifies mind, and glorifies the soul.
Disciple
Compassionate Sire, what nature is this fire
Teach me how to kindle it.
Master
It is flame , without smoke;
It burns without fuel, save what is not visible to the eyes.
It burns in the mouth of the wise.
It dwells in the heart of love.
It is the perpetual altar fire where saints pour their oblation of worship.
It is eternal life.
It dwells in thee, though thou knowest it not, dormant, hidden at they inmost recess.
When they uncovered heat will catch
The spark that cometh out from the mouth that speaketh the Fire of Truth.
Then will be lighted in thee this smokeless , eternal Flame.
Accept The Person And The Situation
The first step in improving another is to accept him as he is . nothing reinforces defensive behavior more than judgment and comparison. A feeling of acceptance and worth frees a person from the need to defend and helps release the natural growth tendency to improve. Acceptance is not condoning a weakens. Rather , it is affirming the real worth of a another.
Accept wisdom
The wise should learn to accept wisdom from anybody, even from a child. Doesn’t the small nightcap brighten things which the sun cannot?
Inability To Think
Most of the disorders and evils in human life are the result of man’s inability to sit still and think.
No happiness Without Action
Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.
As a judge
Conscience warns us as a friend before it punishes as a judge.
No cosmetic
There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness
Cause and Effect
Cause and effect, means and ends, seed and fruit, cannot be separated; for the effect already exists in the cause, the end preexists in the means as the fruit in the seed.
Great Circles And Small Circles
Great circles are imaginary circles whose plane, passing through the centre of the Earth divides it into two equal parts. Small circles are very much similar to the great circles. The major difference between great circles (that which pass through the centre of the Earth) and small circles is that their plane does not pas through the Earth’s Centre . All the parallels of the latitude, north and south of the Equator make small circles.
Concentration in meditation comes from practice in concentrating on every work that you do.
To Discipline Our Mind
To discipline our mind and senses you have to have the patience of a mother whose child wants to run out of the gate –she patiently brings it back every time it tires to run out, until the child learns not to do it any more.
Romanticism
Romanticism is a style that dominated the Art, Literature, and Music of the late 18th century and 19th centuries. The movement arose as a rejection of the classical style in the, dating back to Ancient Greece and Rome.
In the midst of a great joy do not promise anyone anything. In the midst of greater anger do not answer anyone’s letter.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Do’s And Don’t’ For Self-improvement
Don’t think you are always right and you can ignore suggestions and criticism.
Do realize that it is wise to listen to others.
Do recognize that people are busy with their own affairs and it is improper to expect them to notice you all the time.
Don’t think you are a genius because you are successful.
Do recognize how such an attitude can make you careless and bring you down.
Don’t think you area failure because happening are not in your favour.
Do recognize that your popularity will quickly evaporate if you neglect to consider others.
Don’t think there is no more to learn when you have finished your formal education and settled in a job.
Do recognize that if you want to make the most of life you have to keep on learning.
Mealtime-Attitude
At meal-times, take time, now and then, to breathe deeply and ponder upon that which you eat. Always be happy and thankful at meal-times.
Ancient mystics deeply pondered this matter and left records among the Ancient Wisdom, declaring that all living vegetables that grow above the soil-stems, branches, fruits and foliage-are filled with large amounts of spiritual energy received from the sun, moister, nutrients and from the air. This energy flows through the whole plant and is vital for Man’s spiritual nature. Proper energy and vitality for the blood can be supplied only in tow ways;
1. Energy that is contained in the right type of food.
2. Energy sent into the body through breathing. (Courtesy East & West series)
If the person who serves the food is your friend, you, sitting at the end of the row won’t matter.
Live every day as if it were a heaven-sent gift; it is. And as fully as if it were your last day on earth; it could be.
Ever be Learning More
Do not think that you know everything, but ever be learning more, and let the learning touch most of the practical concerns of every day life.
I murmured because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.
Make it your business to know yourself. It is the most difficult lesion in the world.
Never lends books, for no one ever returns them; the books I have in my library are books that other folks have lent me.
When we sigh about our trouble it grows double everyday; when we laugh about our trouble it’s a bubble blown away.
Silent Victories
Whatever task that has to be done, always be dedicated, sincere and honest; for life’s noblest silent victories are won by the man who values integrity.
Anger is boomerang which always returns to injure the one from whom it originated.
Do not change Your Mind
Listen with respect t what other people have to say, but don’t change your mind, out of fear. What greater pleasure is there in life than to be bold? In every matter if we try to do what we think is right everything will go on all right.- Rajaji
Foolish Do Not Know The True Religion
Long is the right to him who is awake; long is a mile to him who is tired; long is the life to the foolish who do not know the true religion.

Literature Is Writing In Prose Or Verse
Literature is writing in prose or verse which has excellence of form or expression. Usually literature presents ideas of permanent or universal interest.
The word ‘literature’ is often used to describe groups of writings such as children’s literature, medical literature. Russia literature, Indian writing in English, English literature etc.
Literature can be found in many forms. We can, for instance, divide it into fiction and non-fiction.
Fiction is any writing that is imaginary. It contains invented character, places and events. There may be real basis in past or present, but fiction is usually largely made up by the author.
Novel is one of the forms of fiction. It is a long work which often tells a story. While creating it the author may create many exciting settings, elaborate situations. It may extend into many chapters. Short story is much less complicated . Its characters are fewer, and not as completely developed and their actions are less wide-ranging.
Drama is another major form of fiction. It tells its story in speech and action. Depending on the skill of the dramatist, and the performers, a drama can be enjoyed by more people at a time.
Poetry is an important branch of literature. It can tell a story, as in the ballad or epic poems or it can create moods, and reveal feelings. In some instances poetic forms are applied to other areas. For example many plays of William Shakespeare are written in poetic form.
The second major division of literature is Non-fiction. It tells about real people, places, events , or ideas. This is an extremely board classification. Non-fiction includes histories, essays, which are often personal statements or arguments on particular subjects.
A non-fiction writer sometimes shades off toward fiction in the biography, a story of somebody’s life. Some biographers tend to be more imaginative than in other writing. News papers and periodicals also form part of non-fiction.
The sight of a drunkard is a better sermon against that vice than the best was ever preached on the subject.

Vision
Thine eyes stretched beyond the pale light of mortal world,
For what vision art thou lost in thought?
On what aim art thou fixed?
Thy motionless gaze,

Have given me sight for seeking the unseen.
There is no such thing as a ‘self-made’ person. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success.

And the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

He asked. Keep Trying Till You Succeed
If you check the list of Fortune 500 company bosses, you would find that many of them never even finished High School Education.
Look around, you will find that all the “well educated” invariably do not get to the top. They often end up working for someone less “intelligent’ and ‘less educated” than themselves. Why/
There are a number of reasons for this condition. Some ‘well educated’ and intelligent” persons analyze a particular opportunity and find all sort of reasons why it does not work. By comparison, the “less educated’ one just comes in and does it and succeeds! The reason is that he is too busy to do anything else. It never occurs to him to sit around and waste his time contemplating all day. He has no doubts and has an “ I can-do” mentality.
These well educated persons suffer from over-talents. This means that he is good at most of anything he takes up. He can achieve proficiency of anything but he does not work at it consistently with persistence. He doesn’t know which of the many paths t take. Once he takes one, he changes the direction as soon as the going gets tough.
By comparison, there are some ‘less educated’ who are only good at one thing and can do nothing else. Through focusing relentlessly on this one quality, they get astonishingly good results.
“Well educated’ won’t stop to do little things. They wont touch things that are beneath their dignity. They think that once they have a degree, the world is theirs for the asking.
Simple persons by comparison will do whatever it is to reach their goal. If their goal is money, they are single minded about it. they will just keep beating at it until they finally succeed. They are just too busy to stop. They just keep going and going! They don’t know when to stop and one day, they end up richer and more successful and these ‘well educated” ones end up working for them!
Well educated person thinks the world owes him a living . He thinks something like “I have got a degree but I could not get a break. I am talented but I am ignored . You have either got to know someone or have money. And I don’t have either. “
Here is a simple fact the “less educated” know that the ‘ well educated “ one usually don’t success requires constant effort, robust common sense, a set goal. Persistence to achieve the object and will-power to withstand failures an setbacks.
You need ‘definiteness of purpose”. You need to decide on the one thing you really want and stick to it, until you get it. Most people simply cannot do that. That is why they end up dissatisfied and unhappy.
These “Well educated” ones don’t even use 105 of what they have got , while “less educated” give it all.
Don’t be over-sensitive. Take chances. Get defeated once in a while. Regard everything as a learning experience. Keep on trying and you will succeed.
You are only what you are when no one is looking
Wise Thoughts
All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousand of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience.
Silence is one great art of conversation
Just remember –when you think all is lost, the future remains.
Common And Uncommon
In a free society all mean re common in their rights and opportunities. They are frequently uncommon in their individual capacities to contribute to the common good.
A Man Is As Great As
A man is as great as the dreams he dreams.
As great as the love he bears;
As great as the values he redeems.
And the happiness he shares.
A man is as great as the thoughts he thinks,
As the worth he had attained;
As the fountains at which his spirit drinks,
As the insight he has gained.
A man is as great as the truth he speaks.
As great as the help he gives.
As great as the destiny he seeks.
As great as the life he lives.
It is true with cheerfulness or good temper the more it is spent, the more it remains.
BE BRAVE AND WAIT
Be brave; be true and wait!
How long?
Who cares how long or how short
Time is not our end;
Time is not our aim;
Nor waiting, our goal.
Yet wait and watch;
For time will bring ripening to thy soul.

Satire

What Is Satire?
When certain aspects in society such as the way people live and act, their attitudes and ideas, are criticized in a literary form that is satire. It may be a poem, a book, a play, a film or a joke.
Aesop, who wrote famous ancient fables, and James Thurber, who wrote ‘Fables for our Time’ both gave human stupidities and vices to birds and forces and other animals. This kind of with that ridicules man’s vices and follies is called .Satires are usually more cynical, or distrustful of human behavior than other writers.
Perhaps the two greatest satires in literature are Voltaire’s Candide and Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels. The first makes fun of the idea that. All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds”. The second attacks man’s vices in general. The satire is hidden beneath Gulliver’s adventures and humorous incidents.
Another classic satire is Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote. Don Quixote is an idealistic knight. He and Sancho Panza his squire, try to correct the injustice of the world. But they ‘tilt against windmills”, that is they fight senseless battles. Many dramatists, especially of the 17th century, wrote plays that were satires. One of the greatest of these was Molere.
The force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived.
Kind Fathers, Loving Mothers
Homes should be filled with kind and generous fathers, with true and loving mothers; and when they are thus filled, the world will be civilized; intelligence will rock the cradle; justice will sit in the courts; wisdom will reign in the legislative halls; and, above all and over all, like the dome of heaven will hover the sweet spirit of liberty.
Don’t Quarrel With Your Mind
It has been observed by thoughtful people that mankind is mankind. It is mind that places man above others creatures. No mind, no man. You mind is your best friend and your worst enemy. Control its fluctuations but do not quarrel with it. For, it has a tremendous amount of psychic energy. Neither suppresses it nor flatter it. Just be a witness to its doings.
Give A Smile
Give a smile to someone passing thereby making his morning glad; it may greet you in the evening when your own heart may be sad.
Speak the truth. Practices virtue. Study the holy books. Honour the parents, teachers and the guests.
Beautiful idol
A sculptor and his friend were having an evening walk. A piece of granite stone was lying on the side of the road and the sculptor intently looked at it. his friends wondered what he was so keenly looking for, and questioned him. He said that he could see a beautiful idol of his chosen deity in the piece of granite. His friends, could not understand how a rough piece of stone could contain a form of his chosen deity. The sculptor then started chiseling the stone. His steady, systematic and dedicated effort resulted in the stone being converted into an impressive statues of the Lord, and all this without any other input from outside. In other words, removing the unwanted particles brought out what was lying hidden in the piece of stone.
Similarly, by removing the dirt the negative tendencies in us we become embodiments of all the virtues put together. –(Courtesy ; “The Vision”)
He is the happiest person who values the merits of others and derives joy in their achievements.
STREAM OF LOVE
Once this heart of mine was barren like you desert;
Lacking in grace and lacking in life;
Till the stream of love made it fertile,
It was full of waste and unlovely land.
The stream of love hath transformed my barren grounds.
To a flower garden and a fruit orchard.
Friend of my heart,
Let the stream of love flow in thy soul, unbarred.
Hinder it not through fear,
Nor let petty thoughts block its course.
Friend of my heart,
Let the stream of love flow on.
It will wash and clean;
It will revive and redeem.
Let the stream flow on and on.
It will bring life and loveliness;
It will bring calm and happiness.
Let the stream of love flow on and on,
Unhindered and unblocked by fear or inner storm.
