A devotee once prayed to Lord Shiva to grant a boon. Pleased Shiva appeared before him and asked him what he wished for. Devotee; “Oh Lord! What is a million years for you?”
Shiva :”A minute!”
Devotee; “Oh Lord! What is a million rupees for you?”
Shiva; “A pie”.
Devotee; “I want a pie”.
Shiva :”Please wait for a minute!”
The devotee became speechless with amazement!

Everlasting Embrace
The stream of my life is ever flowing on,
Perchance checked by an impassable rock,
As if blocked for all time from its goal,
Yet the yearning soul with feeble stroke
Finds its course through adamantine walls.
The stream of may life is ever flowing on;
Perchance in swift current,
Again slow and still as if stagnant,
But ever flowing on to find Thee, Thou ocean of life and bliss,
To join its little stream with Thine un compassed waters,
To find its wholeness in Thy Being
Overcoming obstacles and distance,
It is ever flowing on and on and on,
Till all separation cease in Thine ever lasting embrace.
