Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
In search of Religion
Spiritual truths are not knowledge to the ordinary sense. They do not come from outside they evolve from within and transform one’s whole life. Religion is being and becoming. But nevertheless, the laws of the spiritual life are true and true for all times, and for all places. There is no mystery about them. Anybody can test them, provided he is ready to undergo the required discipline. Scientific truths are known through intellect spiritual truths are realized by dint of inner discipline. They are upon to all. Whereas scientific truths are known to have given way even after thousands of years when new facts were available so spiritual truth has failed the test of time,. The prophets of all ages and lands say the same thing-though couched in different forms and words. Let us take a simple example: “God listens to the earnest prayer of a longing heart” so many prophets have said this same thing. The latest prophet only repeats the same things with new emphasis born of his personal conviction. The man in the street may have faith in these words but any person with an open mind who tires this for himself realizes the truth of the statement. Thousands of people from time immemorial have known it and proved it. They may disbelieve anything else, but it would be hard for them to deny this. For they have directly realized this fact. A direct experience can stand again any amount of theories and speculations. The prophets only say ‘Follow this particular method and you will be convicted of what we say “The difficulty is that ordinary people want to test the sayings of saints through the power of the intellect. But intellect is no good in the sphere. To know a given thing even in science a particular instrument is necessary. You cannot see a distant star with a microscope nor can you detect malarial parasites with a surgeon’s knife. Similarly through the help of intellect, however powerful you cannot test spiritual truths. For that inner discipline is what is required. But very few people are ready to fulfil these conditions, and can arrive at the correct conclusion.,
Live in divine consciousness to raise immunity
By James Anderson
We have to rethink our immunity. It is a need of the hour. At present, humanity is edging towards a cliff-edge. It is also a critical time in the evolution of the human species.
Our first line of defence is our natural immunity: factors
like lifestyle, diet, rest and sleep come to play. It calls for basic common
sense and a respect for the body’s role in our wellbeing. However, we find this
level under threat, bombarded by toxic conditions and successive pharmaceutical
interventions. These conditions only lay the ground for future mutations, given
that man’s natural defences are being suppressed or swept aside by artificial
measures.
Society repeatedly falls back on material solutions and that has created a vast industry. But we are not inert matter; we embody a living soul. Humanity needs to urgently raise the level of it comprising a more subtle body that leaves a ‘nervous envelope’, which is our perfect armour. Its vibrations possess a certain density and range a few inches over the physical substance. If the shield is preserved and kept intact, we can walk through any pandemic without alarm. This consciousness to discover its immune birthright.
We have to be responsible for our immunity. Largely though,
we remain ignorant of our resources. But the human make-up gives him the
capacity to defend himself. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have alluded to it
often. Around each organ and surrounding our gross body, defence has been proven by experience.
So we need to work on our body and refine its consciousness. We need to subtilise our physical and stay present with it so that it becomes a conscious instrument. The subtle physical possesses far greater capacities than its gross counterpart. When we direct consciousness onto the body, a living and dynamic Presence emerges. With this, a stronger safeguard is erected though this is not always a consequence of spirituality but arises from living more in balance and alignment. It is accessible to all. However, it truly helps to become conscious of this shield. This sheath can be nurtured with our consciousness to fortify the protection. If punctured, it allows mischievous forces to enter and create havoc. This is an occult domain which can be reinforced by spiritual approaches.
Thus, we have to be vigilant against negative states which
undermine our immunity. Fear renders protection obsolete. Over time in Integral
Yoga, we find protection assumes a more psychic quality. As we practise, we become
conscious of those inner movements, which jeopardise our inner balance and
harmony. Disequilibrium is the foundation of all disease. Wrong movements
prompt us to take a wrong turning in life and erode our immunity. Behold the
hidden malaise of desire. This immunity requires what the Mother terms, “a
constant inner relation with the inner Divine Presence”.
In Integral Yoga, we aim to open all our nature to the
Force of transformation and the body is always the last link. The catalyst is
the relationship of the body with the evolving soul, psychic being, and it is
only this entity which affords the supreme immunity and takes the body to the
threshold of transformation.
We need to walk through life with an abiding faith in the
Divine. There is no greater protection than that: to consciously reside in the
Mother’s Cocoon of white protective Light. Definitive immunity always comes
from invoking and living in the Divine Consciousness.

IF HE EXIST
I drive joy there was a doctor in
Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God.
Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued
that he was wasting 7 precious minutes on something, which he had been misled
into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that
I am wasting 7 minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting
your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste 7 minutes rather than a lifetime. Why
should you grudge me the 7minutes joy that I derive 4m.-
