true charm and power of Vedanta
True Religion always Help
A human being passes through different stage of growth and decay in life such as conception the embryonic state, birth, childhood, youth, middle age, old age, and death. At each of these stages, true religion helps the manifestation of the higher potentialities of the human spirit.
The conception
of child may take place under various situations; It may happen from various
forms of marriage. It may happen in a marriage approved neither by society nor
by religion. Again , it may happen from a marriage approved by religion and
society and blessed by all. The last type may be generally said to be the
sacramental marriage in which a chaste young men and a virgin accept each other
solemnly in matrimonial relationship through proper religious rites. In every religion
there is provision for sacramental marriage. Conception may and does happen
even outside of wedlock
One Hindu
scripture makes a general statement that the progeny of a couple partakes of
the character of the form in which they were married. That is to say if the
marriage is in the best or in an approved from the progeny is more likely to be
good if the marriage is of a condemned form, the progeny is likely to have a
low character.
Offspring’s,
says Manu, who will have spiritual eminence beauty, virtue, wealth, fame and
very long life, are born to a approved sacramental marriages. Whereas likely to
be cruel , wicked, vicious and irreligious .
Good children are more likely to be born of a couple who are pure in head and perfectly loyal to each other. According to Hinduism , in the birth of a child there are two side of the question of a good soul elects good parents for being born in the world, evil souls elect evil parents. . this in a way, is a metaphysical statement, flowing from the law of karma . in psychological terms Hinduism holds that the prenatal disposition of the parents largely determines the mental constitution of the offspring
This is
another way of saying that one may choose the type of children one wants by regulating
one’s life and thought according to the precepts of true religion. the
conception which is preceded by prayer will not bring forth a child who will be
a source of agony to the parents.
Stilling
the Agitated Mind The Speaking Tree, India, ET

To
understand what yog is, we need to focus on an anecdote from the epic
‘Ramayana’. During the course of exile, when Ram and his younger brother
Lakshman were frantically searching for Sita after her abduction by Ravan, they
met the local people who showed them a few ornaments they had found scattered
at a place. Ram was shattered with the sudden and unexpected development.
Therefore,
he asked Laxman to see whether the ornaments belonged to Sita. What Lakshman
said to Ram is the manifestation of yog, ‘O Revered One! I never saw the face
of Sita in the last so many years, so I won’t be able to identity her ornaments
except the anklets, since the first thing I did every morning was to touch her
feet.’ Yog in its true sense is to restrain our impure thoughts and lustful
desires by stilling the agitated mind.
In the
words of Krishn, ‘Yog is to cultivate a detached but unified outlook, serenity
of mind, skill in action and the ability to stay attuned to the glory of the
Self, the Atman and the Supreme. The only way to douse the flame of desire is
by simultaneously stilling the mind through self-discipline, and that is all
about yog.’ In other words, ayogi is one who is not driven by the mind but is
able to make it subservient to the soul.
And the
soul attains that divine state only when it becomes one with the higher Self.
Asana, one of the eight limbs of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yog, is only an exercise
unless preceded by ‘yam’ and ‘niyam’, the first two stages that purify the
mind. The ultimate goal of yog is ‘samadhi’, absolute bliss.
IF HE

I drive
joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and
evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed
at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on
something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well,
if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He
exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten
minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy
that I derive 4m.-
