Quote from the True Charm and Power of
Vedanta
The Source of Healing Power
Whenever we feel turbulence in our mind or disturbance
in our body, if we can fix our thought on our spiritual Source and give Nature
a chance to restore us by trying to forget the cause of our pain , we shall be
haled without any outside help, God is our common property . we do not have to
gain access to Him through any book or minister or church or healer. All that
we need is purity of thought an open heart and sincere childlike longing. When we
have these , all darkness vanishes quickly and healing takes place. When we
touch the reservoir of life, the storehouse of Prana or vital energy, all our weakness
must disappear . some accomplish this by a definite system of thought; others do it though simple faith
and devotion.
There
are many simple people who by mere faith and ardent devotion have performed
what we cal miracles , but they are not miracles in the sense that they could not
happen to any one Healing comes wholly though fitness . let us all strive to make
ourselves fit for the manifestation of divine power . let us make it our first
duty always to turn towards that inner . Source for all our needs . let us tune
ourselves in such a way that we shall never be jarring note in the cosmic
harmony. If we learn to keep ourselves in tune, there will be no need of
healing because when our body mind and soul attuned in the central spiritual power,
this physical machine will run smoothly and we shall be scarcely conscious that
we have t body. Our whole thought will be turned towards God
The Present is a Gift

The wise grieve neither for the living nor for
the dead, says Krishna in the Bhagwad Gita (2.11). This is one of the key
messages of the Gita — grieve not. This verse can be used as a mantra, a
talisman. When worry knocks on our door, when grief threatens to overwhelm us,
let us visualise Krishna standing in front of us and telling us, “You are
grieving or worrying unnecessarily.”
When we are consumed with remorse over the dead
past and with sorrow concerning the unborn future, let’s visualise him saying to
us, “You are worrying unnecessarily.” When a man dies, his body is cremated (or
otherwise disposed of). If not, it will decompose and stink. All created things
are subject to change and dissolution.
When an event is past, do not keep it and
cherish it in your head. Cremate it and forget it; otherwise, it will decompose
in the mind and stink. Do not worry about the future, for tomorrow will bring
its own problem and the problem will have its own solution, just as yesterday’s
and today’s problems have had.… There is a distinction between thinking and
worrying.
Thinking is essential; worrying is unnecessary
— it actually prevents thinking. Constructive thought is the first step to
contemplation and eventual cessation of divisible thinking. It is made possible
only when the inner awareness is freed from the past that exists but as memory
and the future, which exists but as worry, a mixture of fear and hope. Only the
present is — it is a present (gift) from God.
But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who
spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this,
his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was
wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into
believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am
wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your
entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why
should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
