At Three Years
A mother once met an expert
educational and asked when she should start giving education to her child. The expert
asked her how old the child was. She said, “Only three years” Oh, already three
years? Haven’t you started education yet? God home and start on it forthwith. You
have already wasted three years’
Psychologists say that an infant
starts learning the moment it has seen the light of the world.. Elders in our
country say that an intent starts learning even when it is in the womb of the
mother. In other words it starts responding to the joys and pains, tastes and
feelings of the mother. Accordingly, its personality and character get moulded
. A child deprived of mother love and care, loses some important elements
needed for the development of its personality as an adult. Hence the many wise
statements like “Child’s school is at home”, “Elder’s behaviours is children’s
copybook”, “What is learnt at three lasts to a hindered “emphasise the responsibility
of parents and the importance of the home environment in moulding the mind of a
child.
We seem to think that education
is just acquiring the skills of reading and writing. The child learns not just
the words it learns from every from of behaviour and action of its parents . it
absorbs the interests, inclinations, prejudices, affirmative or negative
feelings, fanaticism or extreme views about religion. Not many are aware of the
tremendous importance of elders in moulding the future of the child at home. If
parents are cautious about it, probably every home will have an APJ KALAM. So kindle
the spark in your child and keep the fire on!
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
‘When the self-controlled
spiritual aspirant realises in the very body the truth of Brahman (the infinite
Self of all) through the truth of the Atman (the Self) self luminous as light,
then, knowing the Divinity which is unborn, eternal, and untouched by modification
of nature he is free from all evil.
But, if He exists?
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening
for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him.
One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something,
which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does
not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am
afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes
rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I
derive 4m.
