Keep Worry Under Control
Once worry gets a hold on us, it becomes a habit. It is easy to catch the habit from other people. For example , if a married partner or a colleague at work turns out to be a chronic worries, we soon become aware of our worries which never entered our minds before..
When the worry habit is long standing, the cause is usually to be found in the person childhood. We are likely to have acquired it form parents who were chronic worriers.
It helps to discover why we have a tendency to worry so that we will be able to understand it better and keep ourselves less worried.
Worries need cutting down to their proper size with a clear distinction being made between what is factual and what is imaginary. Don’t get alarmed about it. Courage and common sense are the factors which help us control worry and reduce it to a minimum. A chronic worrier is continually being upset by a series of fears and anxieties which make him likely to get into confusion in a real crisis.
To get to grips with worry is like winning half the battle. A practical person looks at it fairly without exaggerating it’s importance. His or her attitude can be summed up in two sentences: this has happened or is likely to happen. What is the best way to deal with it? This is analyzing the situation of worry. From this we go on to acquire any useful advice and discover what help is available. All the aspects are considered before we decide what to do. On the other hand. Worrying consists of thinking about what may happen , the possible results and how unpleasant they would be.
Many of the things we fear and worry about do not happen. even when they do , it is surprising how much help we receive from unexpected sources to solve the worry. Having taking reasonable precautions, do not worry about the future.
We sometimes worry when it is not really our worry and sometimes however much we worry , we can do nothing about it. Finally, shut your bedroom door firmly on worry. It can happen that your subconscious, mind will resolve a worry for you while you are released and asleep.
Man alone has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality; man, alone can dream and make the dreams come true.
Good and Evil Action
In doing evil, we injure ourselves and others also. In doing good , we do good to ourselves and to others as well. According to Krmayoga, the action one has done cannot be destroyed until it has borne its fruit; no power in nature can stop it from yielding its results. If I do an evil action, I must suffer for it; there is no power in this universe to stop or stay it. Similarly, if I do a good action, there is no power in the universe which can stop its bearing good results.
Refuse to quit. As long as you haven’t quit, you haven’t failed. Success is just an initiative beyond the failure.
Quote from The Essences of the Gita
This is also the purpose of your Society . See that you never forget it. Never forget that you your selves should first clearly understand that religion manifest itself in various forms according to the needs of the place, tie and person. And then you have to demonstrate the truth to the world through your lives . never forget that you have to prove that it is possible even in these days to practice the teachings of the scriptures . You have to show that whoever is able to do this is greatly benefited and strengthened in the battle of life , in whatever condition the person may be.
If the fault lay with the scriptures or if they were full of useless, outdated and one-sided teachings, they couldn’t have helped build the lives of Sir Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. Understand this well don’t put the blame on the scriptures. Blame your own mind because it has not the capacity to see the real meaning and the true purpose of the scriptures. Blame your own education which does not allow you even to learn how to use your eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Slow me Down, Lord!
Monday 20th December 2010
Slow me Down, Lord!
Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time.
Give me, amidst the confusion of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of nerves and muscles, with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory.
Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking minute vacations. Of slowing down to look at flower, to chat with a friend, to pat a dog, to read few lines from a good book. Remind me each day of the table of the hare and tortoise, that I may know that the race is not always to the swift, that there is more to lie than measuring its speed.
Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down. Lord and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the starts of my grater destiny.
Perfect Ecosystem For Our Survival
Ecosystem constitutes the living community of plant and animals in any area together with the non-living components of the environment such as the soil, air and water. The living and non-living matter constantly interact with each other . It results in the flow of energy which helps the productivity of our world. For instance, in a particle of surface loam there are 60 million bacteria; in an acre of agricultural land there can be 30 million invertebrates and in an acre there are over 50 thousand earthworms . then there are the larger insects, reptiles, mammals, birds and plants. All these form the biotic community. However the relationships are never static; growth and death, change and replacement, go on continuously. A constant activity goes on forever. Energy pours down from Sunlight and is captured by green pants that make food in the process called photosynthesis. So also water moves through the ecosystem in an intricate cycle starting from and returning to the atmosphere.
Thus the functioning of an ecosystem depends on the energy which is poured into it and the prime source of energy is Sunlight. Green plants are the only effective converters of Sunlight energy into forms useful to man and animals. Energy can be produced only when matter is consumed and this results in pyramid of life having wide base of vegetation, a smaller quantity of herbivores, which feed on plants and a considerably smaller number of carnivores which live on hooved spices. But an unchangeable natural laws play a major part . For example, one kilo of deer meat cannot produce one kilo of tiger. It is because a great deal is lost in process of converting the meat of the deer into the metabolism of the carnivore.
The objective of the investigator decide the are or extent of an ecosystem. The entire stretch of the Ganga could be considered as one ecosystem. It ranges from the melting snows in the Himalaya to he Hoogly where the waters ultimately reach the Bay of Bengal. The same ecosystem may even many more small ecosystems, each one, important in its own way, has to be protected to save the entire region. Activities such as the removal of vegetation on the banks , and particularly on neighboring hill sides endanger the ecosystem. A situation of their sort might lead to situation of the water system; which, apart from reducing the capacity of the river, may even alter the quality of the water and subsequently, the insect and fish life. Even a small village pond form part of ecosystem and many of these are getting silted up. Polluted and bereft of life because of the destruction of the natural complex of vegetation around the pond.
One of the most productive ecosystems is at the point where sea water meets fresh water. Therefore protection of estuaries is very important because it is here the spawning of fish and of other aquatic life takes place.
Hence the conservationists feel that in order to save the natural world, the focus should not be on saving individual species, but on saving the entire ecosystem of whish species form a part. Unless the entire ecosystem is preserved, individual species will die in course of time which might lead to ecological imbalance.
Quote from the Essence of Bhagavt-Gita
I have already said that the Gita is not an interpolation and there is also proof that it is not Indian philosophers had one rare quality. If the modern philosophers in India and abroad develop this quality to some extent, it would greatly benefit not only them but also other people. Our ancient philosophers were never content to establish an idea only intellectually . they made efforts to translate the idea into practical life. After doing that successfully, they would share the truth with other people . when we study the life of Sir Krishna , we see that he himself verified by actual practice the truth of the teachings in the Gita. We see in his won life all the truth taught in the Gita thoroughly put into practice for the first time. So there is no doubt it was he who taught the Gita.

New Life From Violence
Monday 13th December 2010
New Life From Violence
A walnut tree was sliced when lighting struck it during a fearful storm. Branches fell far apart and some parts of the shattered tree appeared to wither and die.
Then over a period of time, it seemed as if the broken tree faced Nature, which , with all its fearful violence had tried to destroy it the tree, despite the pain of being severed into pieces, effused to give in to the violence and just die.
The different parts of the tree made peace with the earth where they had fallen and slowly began to take root. Little twigs began to appear, then fresh new leaves and finally the fruit.
People who picked up the fruit and ate it found it sweeter than before and marveled how the tree could give such luscious fruits.
How like the walnut tree are many of our lives! We , too, are struck by violence whether it is disease or thoughtless verbal abuses or emotional antipathy. If we face our violator with courage, reconcile and make peace, like the walnut tree, we get new fruit which may take the form of kindness compassion, and empathy. And we will marvel at the new life, which has given birth from violence. (Courtesy East and West Series)

How to Solve Problems.
Here is an effective method of solving problems;
1. Write down what the problem is;
Write it down exactly precisely and concisely. Charles Kettering, the great inventive genius of General Motor said, “A problem well stated is a problem half solved”.
2.Write down what the causes of the problem are;
Get all the facts. Be sure the facts are exact, clear and impartial. Herbert Hawks of Columbia University said, “Half the worry in the world is caused by people trying to make decisions before they have sufficient knowledge on which to base a decision. If a man will devote his time to securing knowledge in an impartial, objective way, his worries will usually evaporate in the light of knowledge”.
3. Write down every effective solution;
Remember that each possible solution of your problem is the impartial result of trying the case from both sides it is always good to have more solutions by thinking from different angles. You can consult your friend or an expert if the problem requires involving such people.
4 Decide which solution to put into effect:
If you analyze the pros and cons of each solution, then your decision would be relatively easy. Then feed all of your possible solutions into your “menial computer” (Sub conscious mind) and let it work on the solutions in its won way for the next few day. Meanwhile relax. The best solution will soon become clear in your mind.
5 star immediately to put the solution into effect and persist vigorously.
Vigorous action is imporantat to justify all your planning in the previous stages. When once you begin to act, do not look back. When once a decision is reached and execution is taken up, dismiss all anxiety about the outcome.
If you successfully solve the problems, which come your way, you will become the mater of most of life’s difficulties. (Courtesy Hypnotique)
Quote from The Essence of the Gita
The milkmaids of Vrindaban looked upon Srik Krishna in a way all their own; By meditating on Sri Krishna they become one with him, forgetting their household duties, husbands, sons, daughters and even their own bodies. One milkmaid was locked at home by husband. The result was that, mediating on Sri Krishna, she became fully absorbed in him and gave up her body in super conscious state(Samadhi) This is mentioned in Bhavagvat gita. When we study the episode of the rasalila we can understand the state of absorption more clearly . During the raslaitla, Sri Krishna suddenly disappeared. Meditating on him, the milkmaids became so absorbed that they forgot their own identities and did everything with the idea “I am Sri Krishna.”
Devotion culminates in such a deep state of absorption that eh worshipper and the worshipped become one. Radha was once asked; “How do you look upon Sri Kirshna?” She replied “I have completely forgotten that I am a women and he is a man and my master. Unlike the love of an ordinary woman. My love toward Sri Krishna is not due to physical attraction or his qualities. My love for him wells up on its own accord without any specific reason.

How to Love God
Monday 6th December 2010
To love God in the most practical way is to love our fellow beings. If we feel for others in the same way as we feel for our own dear ones, we love God.
If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within our lives, we are loving God.
If , instead of robbing others to help ourselves, we rob ourselves to help others, we are loving God.
If we suffer in the sufferings of others and feel happy in the happiness of others, we are loving God.
If, instead of worrying over our own misfortunes, we think of ourselves as more fortunate than many many others , we are loving God.
If we endure our lot with patience and contentment, accepting it as His will, we are loving God.
If we understand and feel that the greatest act of devotion and worship to God is not to hurt or harm any of His beings, we are loving God.
To love Goes as He ought to be loved, we must live for God and die for God, knowing that the goal of all life is to love God, and find him as our own self.
Power of Thoughts.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, suffering follows him, as the wheel follows the foot of th ox that draws the cart. If a man speaks or acts with pure thought, happiness follows hi, like a shadow that never leaves him. Dhammapada.
All fear punishment, all fear hurt. Therefore , do not harm, or cause harm. Do as you would want done to you- Dhamamapada.
We go This Way But Once
We go this way but once, so why not take the journey well worthwhile , giving to those who travel with us a helping hand, a word of cheer, a smile. We got this way but once never more can we go back aslong the same way. To get more out of life, undone the wrongs, or speak loving words we know but did not say. We go this way but once. Then let us make the road we travel blossomy and sweet, with helpful, kindly deeds and tender words, smoothing the path of stumbling feet.
A Goal
Many people fail in life, not for lack of ability or brains or even courage, but simply because they have never organized their energies around a goal.
If a man writes a better book, though he built his house in the woods, the world will make a beaten path to his door.
Tell Me How To Do It!
I don’t want a lawyer to tell me what I cannot do; I hire them to tell me how to do what I want to do.
Photomicrography-Photography Through Microscope
Photomicrography is the art of photography through the microscope . It is important in chemistry, biology, geology and medicine.
Most Photomicrography is done by using the compound microscope with a camera arranged opposite the eye piece so that the image can be focused on a film or plate . for detailed photographs an election microscope is used.
The advantage of photography in sciences is that we are able to record visible images in black and white or colour . These images make permanent records which can be examined and studied at leisure when the original subjects are not available. Photomicrography extends the range for our vision, allows to take photographs of things the eye cannot see because they are too small.
Carbon are lamps and incandescent tungsten filament lamps are normally used for illumination but, for special purposes, flesh bulbs , electronic discharge lamps and sodium lamps are used.
