How to control Anger?
Sages and savants have described anger as the most destructive human emotion. It not only disturbs our peace of mind but also brings untold suffering in the shape of bad health and poor relationships. The opposite to anger is patience and acceptance. A healthy and joyous life is possible only if we put anger under control
For most of us, never getting angry is impossible but we can certainly modify our behavior to make a situation better identifying the basic cause of anger and coming to understand whether it needs a short term or long-term management, strategies to keep anger under control are helpful only when we come to find out its reasons.
Experts believe that the real problem is not anger but the mismanagement of it. Before we get carried away by it or say or do something, we should consider the possible negative effects of anger. It is important to let people close to you know hat something is bothering you. Putting focus on finding a solution for the problem is a positive approach to come out of a puzzling situation.
Many times anger and other frustrations arise due to certain inescapable problems . in our day-to-day life we see that anger, even if it I justified can quickly turn irrational . Angry people tend to jump to and act on conclusions which is heated moments can be self-destructive . Slowing down, thinking carefully and listening to what the other person is saying gives us time to gain composer and react in a measured manner.
Sometime our immediate surrounding and the person around give us cause for irrational and fury. Putting yourself in other person’s shoes also helps you gain a different understanding. When anger is building up, just pause and try to think in a positive manner . speak carefully to dissolve the heat of the moment. A touch of humour can also help diffuse difficult situations.
While arguing, it is better to attach the problem and not the person and also be aware of when to quit. If you feel your anger might get out of control, take slow and deep breathing and try to change the place or the environment.
It is said that anger exists in the mind and is the direct result of our thoughts. Always blaming our difficulties on others is a sure sign of many problems and faults within our mind. If we are truly balanced inside and have our mind under control, even difficult people and circumstances would not be able to disturb us.
Our physical and mental health is closely related to each other. Taking care of the body by exercising regularly , eating right food, getting enough sleep meaning time properly and adhering to mental discipline along with a flexible and friendly attitude towards everybody gives us enough advantages to face difficult strains. Yoga and mediation are also increasingly seen as quite helpful for angry and stressed persons.
Brilliant Conversationalist.
A gossip is one who talk to you about others. A bore is one who talks to you about himself. A brilliant conversationalist is one who talks to you about yourself.

Conquer fear and you can command your destiny
Imagination plays a very great part in producing fear. Man lives in constant fear and restlessness. He is afraid of accidents, disease, dishonor and separation from dear ones and death.
Try to find the cause of fear. Weak will is the main cause . timid ness and fear go together.
Fear chills the heart and turns the hairs grey . fear breeds fear.
Fear turns a king into a beggar. Fearlessness turns a beggar into a king.
Never entertain even a single thought of fear. Fear kills a man many times before his actual death.
Fearlessness is the greatest virtue. Fear is the greatest vice.
Do not cause fear in any heart.
Do not become a source of fear for anyone. Be simple . Be loving cheerful and compassionate.
Contract fear by entertaining thoughts of courage, boldness, cheerfulness and faith in Divine Grace.
-Swami Jyotirmayanada
Set Standards and Demand Excellence
1. You must set priorities. I always remember my father said” Your health comes first; without that you have nothing.
2. You need an ability to grab hold of tough problems and not delegate them. It is not fair to allow the person below you take the brunt of making the hand decisions.
3. Set and demand standards of excellence. Anybody who accepts mediocrity in school, on the job, in life is a person who compromises.
4. You need a sense of urgency. It is absolutely better to do something, recognizing that it may not be the right thing but better than do nothing at all.
5. Pay attention to details . Getting the facts is the key to good decision making
6. You need commitment. You can always pick out the person who has a commitment.
7. Do not waste your time worrying about things you cannot do anything about.
8. You need the ability to fail. I am amazed at the number of organizations that were set up and the environment where thy do not permit their people to be wrong.
9. Be tough but fair with people, being tough means setting standards and demanding performance. (Pemba)
Quote from true religion always helps
Religion teaches us even to look on suffering as an expression of God’s compassion, and on disease as a form of austerity. He sends us these for our spiritual growth. When the painful death of a dearest one makes us almost insane, nothing but the wisdom and sympathy of true religion give us solace.
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Don’t go through life too fast
Monday 19–July- 2010
Don’t go through life too fast
A young and successful officer was traveling through a neighborhood street, going too fast in his brand new Jaguar car.
As his car was passing, a brick smashed into its side door! He put on the breaks and moved backward to the spot where the brick had been thrown. He then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest boy and pushed him up against the parked car. He then shouted, “What was that all about and who are you? That is a new car and it will cost a lot of money to repair the damage . Why did you do it?”
The young boy was making an apology, “Please , Sir, I am sorry but I did not know what else to do”, he pleaded, “ I threw the brick because none else would stop”, with tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the boy pointed to a spot. “It is my brother”, he said. ‘He rolled off the edge and fell out of his wheelchair. I could not lift him up”. Now weeping the boy asked the surprised officer. “Would you please help me to get him back into his wheelchair? He is hurt and he is too heavy for me”.
Moved beyond words, the officer hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair. He then took out handkerchief and cleaned the cuts with care. A quick look told him everything was going to be all right.
“Thank you, May God bless you”, the grateful boy told the officer who was a stranger to him.
Too much upset , the officer simply, watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the path along the side of the street toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the car. The damage was easily seen, but the officer never took the trouble to repair the slight dent made in the side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of his message.
“Don’t go through life so fast that someone his to throw a brick at you to get you attention!”

Go not to the temple
Go not to the temple to put flowers upon the feet of God, first fill your own house with the fragrance of Love. God not to the temple to light candles before the altar of God, first remove the darkness of sin from your heart. Go not to the temple to bow down your head in prayer, first learn to bow in humility before your fellowmen. Go not to the temple to pray on bended knees, first band down to lift someone who is downtrodden. Go not to the temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins, first forgive from your heart those who have sinned against you. Rabindranath Tagore
Exercise patience with others.
In times of stress our impatience surfaces. We may say words we don’t really intend to say. Or we may communicate through emotion rather than words . we then suffer from hurt feelings and strained relationships. Patience is the real expression of faith , hope and love. Life provides abundant changes to practice patience.
If men will see their own faults as they see the faults of others, verily evil would come to an end in this world.
Right Thinking
Systematically cultivate the habit of right thinking. Substitute good thought for evil thought and the later will be eliminated. Do not compromise with any kind of wrong thought. The only way to get rid of it effectively is through the power of right thinking. If it is a desirable thing to think good thoughts for sometime, it is desirable to think good thoughts all the time. It is just as easy to think right thoughts as to think wrong thoughts. True independence and self-confidence are based upon right thinking.
If you are headed in the right direction, each step , no matter how small, is getting you close to your goal.
Tailor or Lawyer
The employer called his secretary: ”Here ,Meena, look at this letter. I cannot make out whether it is from my tailor or my lawyer! They are both name d Sudhir”.
The note read: “I have begun your suit. Ready to be tried on Thursday Sudhir.
Quote from True Religion always Help
Now to meet the requirements of life in the world, we need to earn money. And in this too, religion is our friend. Even today, honesty is the best policy in the world. He who earns his bred through honest labour may not amass huge wealth, but he will not be dogged by anxiety and fear or exposure. He will have an inner strength which cannot be purchased with money. Those who earn cheap, money, unrighteous money ,not only constantly face their risk of exposure, but before they realize it, the money itself may have vanished and all further avenues of earning closed to them.
A man with a sense of honor and dignity knows that it is the man who makes the money, not money the man. And this sense of dignity is more abiding if it springs from religion.
One without such a background thinks that it is money that makes the man and hence will do anything for money. Al such will eventually suffer.
A healthy body can produce a healthy spirit. – Old Roman saying.

Selfishness is alien to the bee!
Man has a lot to learn form the bee . it lives for the collective good of the hive. Selfishness is alien to it. Between the bee and the housefly there is a world of difference. The latter now sits on pure edibles and next on filth. Whereas the bee alternates between its hive and fresh flowers. Nowhere else does it land. It is ever industrious . at any moment it offers its life in defense of the hive.

Only one finger
“Twist someone round one’s finger” is an expression meaning that you handle or manage with skill a person and get him to do what you want him to do . it owes its origin to horse riding . A good rider can use only one finger to control the reins of the horse and get the animal to move left or right!

If you feel sad, cry. Research has shown that tears not only provide stress relief but also helps the body get rid of harmful chemical substances. If you suppress your natural instinct to cry, you are increasing your chances of facing a stress-related disorder.

If you give something to one in need , let cheerfulness on your face precede the gift, and speak to him words of comfort. if you do this, your friendly look will be dearer to his mind even than a gift that is more than he needs.
Secret of Good Memory
The secret of a good memory is attention , and attention to a subject depends upon our interest in it. We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds. Tryon Edwards
Truth Must Not Only Inform But Inspire
A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. The teacher who has come to the end of his subject, who has no living contact with his knowledge but merely repeats his lessons to his students, can only load their minds; he cannot quicken them. Truth not only must inform but inspire. It the inspiration dies out, and the information only accumulates , then truth loses its worth. The greater part of our learning in the schools has been wasted because, for most of our teachers their subjects are like dead specimens of once living things, with which they have learned acquaintance, but no communication of life and love –Rabindranath Tagore
Quote from True Religion always Help
Some people appear to think that if they become religious, they would lose all the fun of life. Of course, they have a very funny idea of fun itself, and one might say they have only a vague idea of life too.
That fun alone is real fun which does not make us eventually suffer. At the time of having the so-called fun, we have, no doubt, bodily or sensual pleasure. But that pleasure is deceitful for it hastens the suffering that is inevitable; there fruit of all such fun. These pains and sufferings reach a climax at old age, we are then feeble in body and week in mind, and then death stares us in the face. If we can go out of this life smiling, without regret or remorse, and take the parting in its stride, then alone can we be said to have had real fun in life. But when the laughter and nectar of today turn into the tear and gall of tomorrow. When in passing out of this life we course or weep while other are either indifferent or even have a sigh of relief, then we have had no fun at all. We have only beneath fools of fun.
To those who indulge in that sort of fun, life s only skin deep. And indeed, how deep is the skin?
Those people who think that by becoming religious they will lose the fun of life, have no clear idea about true religion true fun, or true life.
Overcome evil with good, falsehood with truth and hatred with love.
Why didn’t you feel the water
Sheela ; I burnt my fingers in hot water.
Leela Stupid why didn’t you feel the water before you put your fingers in it.
To be kept a secret
Meena (agrily):”What do you mean by telling everyone in class that I am an idiot?”
Pradeep; “ I am sorry, I didn’t know it was meant to be kept a secret”.
Four Steps To Excellence
Plan Purposefully
Prepare Prayerfully
Proceed Positively
Pursue Persistently .

On Forgetfulness
Monday 5–July- 2010
On Forgetfulness
In all walks of life, whatever the profession or calling may be, we have irritants around (unawares we become one too). But what really bothers us is the irritant that irritates us. We come home from office resentful. And unable to control our irritation now and then, we cast our resentment on our family. Then we feel our family miserable. When we get to bed we cannot sleep as we plan ways to do away with the cause of irritation. We get up in the morning we go about our work sit at our desk and bury our resentment temporarily.
Then there comes a time when we go to bead and hit the pillow again. We are utterly alone with our thoughts and we take inventory or ourselves, our assets and liabilities. Then we ask ourselves what we forgot to do during the day that has gone forever.
All this happens to me and so I feel it might be the case with everybody. When I take stock of the day I suddenly remember many things I forgot during the course of the day-that I forget to smile. I forgot to compliment someone for a deed well done, for a word well spoken, forgot that I can be happy, that I can forget my resentment, violence, negative feelings hat take me away from myself and make me the small person I actually am not. I realize that I even forget that I am born to succeed in life, that I have priceless assets within me that God blessed me with, that I have dignity because I am made in God’s image, forgot to be sincere, the need to understand the needs of others, to be compassionate an self-confident, failed to accept my self for what I am and not try to be someone else.
So after recollecting what you forget today make a decision what you should not forget the following day, relax your mind and have sound sleep. When you get up next morning recollect the decision you made the previous night, adhere to that and have peace of mind Make this your habit and reach your goals sooner.
Quote from True Religion always helps
The beauty and excellence of this definition of Dharma is that all rational human being of good will , no matter of what religion or of no religion, can met on this platform of universal growth, advancement security and fulfillment. This much –needed meeting ground of all believers and non-believes has always been there from at least the time since Bhisma defined Dharma is this most acceptable manner.
True religion defined this way is surely going to –help us always and everywhere in fact if we examine Bhisma’s defiant ion, we will be inclined to agree that growth and advancement in the right direction, protection from injury and the upholding and maintenance of all, are simply not possible without the help of true religion.
Why does One Feel Afraid?
I suppose it is because one is egoistic.
There are three reasons. First an excessive concern about one’s security. Next , what one does not know always gives an uneasy feeling which is translated in the consciousness by fear. And above all. On doesn’t have the habit of a spontaneous trust in the Divine . If you look into things sufficiently deeply , this is the true reason. There are people who do not even know that That exists, but one could tell them in other words, “ You have no faith in your destiny” or “ You know nothing about Grace”-anything whatever , you may put it as you like , but the root of the matter is lack of trust. If one always had the feeling that it is the best that happens in all circumstances, one would not be
Peace in the storm, calm in the effort, joy in the surrender, a luminous Faith, and you will become aware of the Lord’s constant Presence.
Fear is hidden consent. When you are afraid of something, it means that you admit its possibility and thus strengthen its hand. It can be said that it is a subconscient consent.afraid.
A goal in which one is interested
If anyone chooses a goal in which he is really interested he will always get what he wants or something very close to it.
Good literature
The test of good literature is that it will promote repetition. We read over the same book again and again. And always with fresh delight.
Good will
A sign at entrance of a restaurant. “ You will find good will. Fellowship. And cheer in this restaurant if you bring them with you.”
