Quote from the True Charm and power of Vedanta
Path to Devotion
Sometimes the task appears very hard, as if there were no way out of it. But nothing can remain permanent in this world; the cloud vanishes and again life becomes hopeful. We must thee for stand like a rock under all circumstances. Let everything come and go, but try to remain always unmoved. Be bold and face the truth. If you have an Ideal. Give your life for the realization of it. We must sacrifice our lives for our Ideal. That is the only way to worship the Ideal. Not wakens not hypocrisy, but sincere love and strength will make us worship Him truly.
Move on add do not look back to see what happens to anyone. Then stand like me may die in this moment. But that will not do any harm to this vast world. Truth is deathless and that will shine forever. Worship the truth and die for it. Remember always that the present life is the result of past thoughts and deeds; the future is going to be according to the present. So our future depends entirely upon us. Past will be washed off by the present life. Curtsey path to devotion
Living a Divine Life
The Speaking Tree | India | ET
By SWAMI SIVANANDA
To sublimate the human in man into the divine, to express this sublimation in his daily, hourly life in thought, word and deed — that is truly divine life. To speak the truth at all costs, to speak sweetly with love, to practise nonviolence, to behold the Lord in all forms is divine life.
To be ever in communion with the Lord by annihilating mineness and egoism through faith, devotion and self-surrender is divine life. Repetition of the Lord’s Names will purify the mind. But along with these, you must also practise vichara. Real beauty, real joy can be had only in God who eternally lives in your own heart.
Every attempt to cultivate divine virtues, selflessness, straightforwardness, courage, serenity, generosity, mercy and self-restraint, in reality, is divine life or life in God. Keep up a balanced mind in success and failure, censure and praise, honour and dishonour, gain and loss, heat and cold.
Man’s knowledge should embrace the whole universe. There is nothing in the universe that man cannot know. It is the love of knowledge for its own sake, not because it brings us food, not because it enables us to practise a profession, but love of truth for its own sake. That is the destiny and glory of man. Man’s life must not be confined to the limits of his family but should take in the entire village or town, nay, the whole state, the whole country, the whole earth and the whole universe. Therefore, when he loves knowledge for its own sake and his love is universal and boundless, then God is pleased because man attains the summit of his glory.

–But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in
the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and
friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious
minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor
replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a
day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I
prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me
the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.-
