The true devotee is always conscious of the power that works through him. Otherwise he is nothing; he does not want to be anything independent of that Divine power. He knows that the Mother does Her own work , that he has no right to take any credit or blame upon himself. Everything is all right as long as we do not forget Her Egotism makes us forget Her; it is our worst enemy. So we must fight and kill it. Let us pray that we may do a little service to Her children remaining always a true instrument in Her hands. Otherwise this life has no value . we have only the right to live a true and pure life and serve as much as we can all Her children.

Sometimes the task appears very hard, as if there were no way out of it. But nothing can remain permanent in this world; the clouds vanish and again life becomes hopeful. We must there for stand like a rock under all circumstances. Let everything come and go, but try to remain always unmoved. Be bold and face the truth. If you have an ideal, give your life for the realization of it. We must sacrifice our lives for our Ideal. That is the only way to worship the Ideal. Not weakness, not hypocrisy, but sincere love and strength will make us worship Him truly.

Move on and do not look back to see what happens to anyone. Thousands like me may die in this moment. But that will not do any harm to this vast world. Truth is deathless and that will shine forever. Worship the truth and die for it. Remember always that the present life is the result of past thoughts and deeds; the future is going to be according to the present. So our future depends entirely upon us . Past will be washed off by the present life.

An electric plug can be made use of to hear a song over the radio, to cool ourselves with the breeze of a fan, to boil water, to cook or to warm the room with the heater. It all depends upon what we plug into it. It is never possible that electricity flowing through the fan, of its own accord, can start emitting fire or light.

Similarly, the unmanifest eternal force of life can be invoked, and It shall fulfil all desires through us according to the type of our invocations. The fuel strength in petrol can be converted into horsepower through the mechanism under the bonnet.

We can invoke the horsepower to reach our destination, or we can easily dump ourselves into a mass of twisted wreckage on the wayside and become a bundle of broken bones. With neither attachment nor hatred, petrol gives its power when invoked through the mechanism of the engine, and how to make use of the power depends on us and our wisdom in employing it.

Similarly, the Supreme power, a mass of dynamism, is the source of all activities and achievements. We are given the equipment through which we can, as we like, invoke this infinite mind. If we rightly invoke and carefully use the equipments, we can reach the goal of our activities.

If we misuse them, the very same divine force can be the cause of our utter disaster. There is a powerhouse within us and yet we live in a state of permanent power failure.

One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Chitta Raja yoga

The bottom of a lake we cannot see , because its surface is covered with ripples, It is impossible for us to catch a glimpse of the bottom when the ripples have subsided and the water is calm. If the water is muddy or is agitated all time,, the bottom will not be seen. If it is clear, and there are no waves, we shall see the bottom. the bottom of the lake is our own true Self, the lake is the Chitta and the waves the Vrittis , Again , the mind is in three states , one of which is darkness , called Tamas , found in brutes and idiots; it only acts to injure. No other idea comes into that state of mind. Then there is the active state of mind. Rajas, whose chief motives are power and enjoyment,. “I will be powerful and rule others “ Then there is the state called Sattva serenity calmness, in which he waves cease, and the water of the mind –lake because clear  .it is not inactive, but rather intensely active. It is the greatest manifestation of power to be calm.. it is easy to be active. Let the reins go, and the horse will run away with you. Any one can do that but he who can stop the plunging horses is the strong man. Which requires the greater strength letting go or restraining? The calm man is not the man who is dull. You must not mistake Sattva for fullness or laziness. The calm man is the one who has control over the mind waves. Activity is the manifestation of interior strength and calmness of the superior.

The Chitta is always trying to get back to its natural pure state, but the organs draw it out. To restrain it, to cheek this outward tendency and to start it on the return journey to the essence of intelligence is the first step to Yoga, because only in this way can the Chitta get into proper course.

Although the Chitta is in every animal from the lowest to the highest, it is only in the human form that we find it as the intellect . Until the mind stuff can take the from of intellect it is not possible for it to return through all these steps and liberate the soul. Immediate salvation is impossible for the cow or the dog, although they have mind because their Chitta cannot as yet take that from which we call intellect.

The Chitta manifests itself in the following forms –scattering, darkening, gathering , one pointed and concentrated . The scattering form is activity. Its tendency is to manifest in the form of pleasure or of pain. The darkening form is dullness which tends to injury. The commentator says, the third form is natural in the Devas, the angels and the first and second to the demons. The gathering form is where it struggles to centre itself. The one pointed form is when it tries to concentrate, and the concentrated form is what brings us is Samadhi

‘The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together.’ Given this context, if we analyse our day-to-day activities, irrespective of our profession, age or background, we would find that we are broadly engaged in three types of activities. Some of us are hyperactive, driven by passion and are achievement-oriented, obsessed with acquiring and growing wealth in the belief that it would lead to ultimate happiness. These actions are driven by egocentric desires and not necessarily by ethical and moral considerations.

On the other hand, there are individuals who are temperamental, indolent, lazy and believe in the philosophy of enjoying daily pleasure without thought for the morrow. And, lastly, there are those who are serene, balanced, equanimous and predominantly engaged in selfless actions for the overall good of humanity, without any expectations.

From the spiritual perspective, these qualities, also known as gunas, are classified as rajasic, tamsic and satvik, respectively. Gunas exist in all of us though in different proportions. To achieve everlasting happiness, we must be aware of the hierarchy of gunas — tamas being at the lowest and satvik being at the highest end.

In the near term, our endeavour should be transition from tamas to rajas and from rajas to satva; as, according to Krishna, ‘Action is better than inaction and from action one should move to selfless action.’ However, in the long term, we need to transcend beyond all gunas to move closer to God consciousness.

Self Mastery 

As thought guides all our bodily activities, so the Sages found that thought was the best medium for direction this life force. How little attention we pay to this great instrument which is placed in our hands by God Almighty! How often we abuse or misuse it! Yet our actions can never produce the best results until our thoughts are properly regulated. Only as we cease to dissipate our mental energies and are able to establish a balance between our outer and our inner activities between our body and our mind, can we hope to have either peace or strength.

            Every living being even the most insignificant has the same possibility of awakening this great life-force within himself. As a rule, however, we run after pleasure and power to try to gain these from the external universe. the result is that we are always rushing outward and we do not stop to think what we have within ourselves. Whenever a problem arise in our mind, our tendency is to go outside, we hasten to consult a book or some person, but the wise men tell us that we have within ourselves the key to all knowledge. In fact no one can give us knowledge beyond the point where our inner nature unfolded. We must there fore discover this inner store house of energy, and in our search it is best to deal first with that which is most immediate. courtesy self mastery

Financial worries and job loss are making many people lose their balance and emotional well-being. That is only one half of the picture — the other half is this: many of the world’s richest people have all the money they want, but their material prosperity has not assured them of peace and contentment. It is time, then, that we realise that happiness is in the mind, not in the objects we possess, not in our bank accounts.

Money can definitely give us lots of comforts; some people actually say money can buy anything — but money cannot buy us happiness. Money cannot buy us peace of mind. Money cannot assure us of our emotional well-being. I know many of us would love to have a million dollars. But let me ask you, if someone were to offer you a million dollars, would you give away both your eyes?

When you become aware of the ‘abundance’ in your own life, your attitude will change; your emotions will regain their lost balance and you will be prepared to face ‘lean’ and ‘dark’ days with a more positive and constructive attitude. What do I mean when I talk about ‘abundance’?

I refer not only to material wealth — in fact, I am quite sure that money is not the most valuable thing in our lives. The trouble with most of us is that we are so busy chasing after more — more money, more comforts, more opportunities — that we fail to appreciate what we have already. Count your blessings. And you will be filled with hope, optimism and faith that will help you face the challenges of life.

Healing of body and mind

Each of us is a living part of the Whole, a direct descendant of Godhead; and when we become truly aware of this, it cures all our ailments. in my own life. I have known of extreme cases, pronounced hopeless by physicians, which were healed by a mere touch. Yet there was no miracle about it. It was the transmission of a spiritual power which accomplished it. If any man can resign himself absolutely and unreservedly to the Will of God, in a moment he will be made whole, and he will be able to heal others. The healing takes place by the natural process of life. Ordinarily we seek relief through roundabout ways; we seek all our consolation and help form outside; but if we can turn directly within to our own inward resources, we shall get results which will amaze us. The reservoir of lie in exhaustible. so long as we go on crying. My strength has failed, by usefulness is gone, my faculties have lost their power to act! We shut ourselves away from the fountainhead. The fact that we are in that state shows that we have detached ourselves form the Source of life. Every human experience, pleasant or unpleasant, only happens from within us and must happen the way we want it. What happens around us — family, business, national or international situations — will never happen 100% the way we want it, because too many forces are involved.

We can get it somewhere close to our liking, but not absolutely. Right now, our outside situation is not going the way we want it to go. Is this not the time that your inner situation must be absolutely the way you want it? But most people’s logic is when outside situations go wrong, they will also turn against themselves. They call this anxiety, fear or confusion.

Fear means you are causing suffering to yourself in anticipation of suffering that may never come to you — you do not even know whether it will come or not. Essentially, your imagination is running away, your intelligence has turned against you.

At a time like this, you should not become an impediment to yourself. The situation is demanding the best out of you — you will need every bit of your intelligence, capability and experience.

Those who are in leadership positions: how you think, feel, and act will make or break a million people’s lives. When you have such a privilege in your hands, you should not allow your psychological drama to overtake the realities in which you exist.

Your ability to function well in the world is largely determined by how balanced you are within yourself. To bring this balance, there are many tools, with which you can take charge of your body, your thought, your emotion.
