OVERCOMING FEAR OF DEATH
We build a bridge across
the river of what we call death by the life we live here. Death does not mean
an absolute break with this life and entrance into a wholly unaccustomed state.
We may have all sorts of visionary dreams of a heaven and a hell , but the
seers and sages tell us there is no gulf between this sphere and that which
lies beyond . life here and life here after have an inseparable connection. One
is the inevitable continuation of the other. Our present life well –lived gives
us power over the life that is to come . Therefore wise man regard their life
as a sacred gift-not something which has come by chance and which can be used
for their own gratification. It doe not rise and set with this physical span of
existence . They know that this body is nothing but a garment , which they
change when its usefulness is over. It is wrong there fore to cling to it, for
when this –one is worn out , the soul takes another which is better suited for its
further evolution. Death may bring a lull,
a brief interruption; but those who are already alone in a spiritual sense,
they go on ward and forward without delay. It is only those who are in slumber spiritually,
even though they may appear to be physically
awake, who find the gulf a very wide one.

The New Year is the season of renewal and a
time of commitment, a time to colour our own lives with shades of harmony and
hope. If the Creator had one message for us, it would be: all this I have
created for you, take pause and reflect; do not corrupt or make desolate your
world — if you do, there is no one to set it right after you.
The message is simple, ‘We are all
responsible’, not only for natural ecology but also for the intricate web of
humanity. In the New Year, we could pray with a heart filled with infinite
gratitude and ask: dear Creator, receive our prayers; and grant us both
perception and knowledge of the things we ought to do, also the grace and
energy to accomplish them.
Kindle in every heart true love of peace, and
guide those who occupy places of power that free from limited perception, in
quietness and equanimity, they may make decisions that fill the earth with
justice, prosperity and harmony, service and sustainability. May all be
peaceful and happy,/May all be free from ignorance,/May all be free from
conflicts,/May all be filled with infinite compassion and composure.
