Trouble are like Pebbles…
A woman was pouring out her troubles endlessly, when a social worker picked a small pebble. Looked at the woman and said. “Look at this pebble, see how tiny it is”
Then he held it right in front of the woman’s eye and said: Now the pebbles fills your vision and blocks the entire world.” Finally , he threw the pebble on the ground and asked the woman to crush it. It became powder
There was no need to explain further . The weeping woman understood that roubles were like pebbles. Looked at objectively, they are challenges we can meet and conquer; but if magnified, they assume gigantic proportions that cause us to fret and fear. Let us remember the pebble when trouble looms large and remained ourselves that many of the troubles we feared most never even turned up. Courtesy Yova Bharti).
Anyway
People are unreasonable illogical and self centered –Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives . Do good anyway
If you are successful you will win enemies –succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow –do good anyway.
The biggest men with the biggest ideas can be brought down by the smallest men, with the smallest minds-Think Big anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you will be badly let down. Give the world the best you got anyway

Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Wisdom is the goal of human existence. Even men of the lowest intelligence want to know the secret things; because knowledge alone can bring peace and happiness to our souls. Ignorance is the main source of all misery and no one really enjoys being in that sate. Why do we find so many ignorant, irresponsible people around us then, if all are eager for wisdom? Because, although the desire for wisdom is the natural instinct in every human heart, few possess the power of acquiring it. A man who is inactive, stupid and full of ignorance has every desire to be all-knowing, only he does not want to work to gain knowledge. There are others who are capable of work and are immensely active, but who do not know the secret of work and only exhaust their energies in wrong directions. The door of knowledge is ready to open to every one of us if we only know how to knock at it properly.
There is only one way to knowledge and wisdom and that is through the power of concentration without this power nobody can accomplish anything in this world. The students who can concentrate their minds fully on their books are the best students. With the least effort they accomplish the most. The scientist in his laboratory concentrates all the energies of his mind in one direction and thus discovers the secret of Nature. The astronomers fixes his mind, through his telescope, on sun, moon, planets and they give up their secret to him. He is a good musician who can concentrate his mind on his music. So also with artists and every one. This is the only road to knowledge. The more we can concentrate our minds on the subjects of our study, the more rapidly the knowledge of that subject is revealed to us. Let us see then how to acquire this power of concentration since all our wisdom is based on it , especially spiritual wisdom……..
IF HE EXIST
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting seven precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting seven minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste seven minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 7minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Are YOU a capable Person
When you are capable person life flows smoothly to get on with any job Here is a test for you to try. Answer ‘Yes’ or No to the question before turning to the key at the end.
Are you good at getting on with your work?
It is your habit to organise the day ahead so that you are never in confusion ?
Do you select the essential and do that first?
Do you tackle one job at a time not do a bit of this and a bit of that?
Do you divide long, complicated or monotonous jobs into convenient stages and finish each stage in turn before continuing the next.
Do you finish jobs, not leave them half done?
Do yo take a pride in everything y ou do and give it your best?
Do you work at discovering the reason for anything going wrong?
Are the setbacks and failures a challenge to yo to further effort?
Do you welcome responsibility and being left in charge?
Are you good at helping other people sort out their difficulties and troubles?
Are you good at working with other people and getting them to work with you?
Do people listen to you when you find and make suggestions?
Are you good at doing the small maintenance jobs in your house?
Could you feed and look after yourself satisfactorily if you were left in the house on your own?

Do you know enough about first and home nursing to be able to render reliable assistance?
Could you handle a quarrelsome fellow effectively?
Count five marks for every “Yes” A score o 70 plus is good and 60 to 70 satisfactory 50 to 60 may be countd fair but under 50 is poor.
Try being interested if you want to be a capable person. When you are interested. you have the desire to do things and enjoy doing them with other people .
If you do not know what you like doing and have no sense of satisfaction in accomplishment it is easy to become indifferent to any job and end up incapable of doing anything. Courtesy wisdom
Four Simple Rules
Be simple in dress and diet and daily living!
Be pure as the lotus in the lake!
Be prayerful as the daisy that ever turns to the sun!
Be helpful to as many as you can!
And you will shine as shineth the moon in clear, cloudless skeis!
The real purpose of reading is not to accumulate knowledge but to use it.
The worth of a man is known by the effect of his effort
Quote from the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Arjuna , the disciple , after listening to the wonderful teaching of the Gita from his Master, Krishna, said; “This Yoga of even-mindedness taught by Thee, I see not its steady continuance, because of the restlessness of my mind.” To that the Blessed Lord replied; “Doubtless, O Mighty-Armed , the mind is restless and hard to restrain, yet by constant practice and dispassion it is subdued.” There is no other way. We ourselves must accomplish the work of subduing the mind by our perseverance and unfailing practice. Yogis, or spiritual men, through their careful study have found out all the various interacted tendencies of the mind and body, and also how one cn subdue them through different practice of concentration and so attain absolute self-mastery.
Our mind manifests itself in various forms; Kshipta, Mudha, Vikshpta and Ekargra, Kshipta means scattered. We often find our mind in this stage when our thoughts are various and the mind jumps from one thing to another. This is a state of activity and the mind runs after sense pleasures. But no real peace or happiness can be found while it is in this scattered sate. The nature of the second is dullness inactivity and one becomes in discriminative and injuries others. Vikshipt aor the state in which we struggle to centralize the mind, but often without success. When we do not find satisfaction either in the scattered or dull state of mind, then we begin to struggle for some higher form. If we persevere we reach the state of Ekagra, the concentrated or one-pointed mind. Only when the mind arrives at this state do we attain to super consciousness and become free forever. The first three states are not fitted to bring spiritual realization. But in the last stage, through the power of concentration , we can collect all our mental and physical energies and direct them toward the highest realization.

How to be Admired and Loved

How to be Admired and Loved
A small girl was brought to my office unexpectedly. I had not met her before and she did not stay long with me. But here mother told me afterwards that the child had repeatedly said how much she wanted to come and see me again.
At first I was puzzled that the child should have gained such a good impression about me. In the middle of a hard day’s work when I could not spare much time with her.
But then I recalled how, when she arrived at my office. I had promptly tried to forget my work and to think of what might interest her. I had asked her about her school, her Girl Guides, her friends and her holidays. The child liked her visit because I had taken sincere interest in her.
Nor long ago on another occasion a woman came to my house with a fine bouquet of flowers n expressing my gratitude. I could not stop from asking her what made her to spend a big amount for the bouquet. “Because you have taken an interest in me” was here immediate reply
You could no doubt find similar illustrations from your own life. If you stop to find out the reason, in each case you would probably find that it was because you had taken a sincere interest in the well-being of the concerned person.
Think of the last occasion when you spent an afternoon or evening with same of your friends. Think of the person you most admired and to whom your affection gave a great deal of warmth of lovingness Certainly it was to the person who, by actions and words showed an interest in you . He was the person who tired to help you where you most needed help of that time. He was the person who talked to you about the things that interested you most.
If you take interest in others and in what is of the greatest importance to them. Then you will be held in high esteem and wanted by others. This requires tact. One should avoid giving the impression of being merely inquisitive. There is only one way it Is not a matter of technique but a genuine desire for the good of others and of a sincere wish to discover your part in contributing to their good.
Besides cultivating a desire for their happiness we must recognise that everyone has a problem of some kind. People’s problems are similar to wounds. There are times when it is good to expose them, bathe them and soothe them with ointment. But there are times when it is best to leave them alone and divert the person’s attention to others issues.
By taking an interest in a person you satisfy the hunger for love and the huger for a feeling of personal worth. To satisfy these two human hungers, even in a small measure, is to make a rich contribution to a person’s life in return you will receive the warmest of response.

Quote from the True charm and power of Vedanta
Life is not a bed of Roses, So what?
Life is not a bed of roses , as we all know Calamities , adversities, death, disease and suffering visit everybody those who do not have the inner strength of endurance born of the practice of spiritual discipline, cannot easily stand such impacts .Sometimes people are driven out of their minds in such situations.
Bhishma Says in Mahabharatha.
When one’s wealth is lost, or one’s wife or son or father is dead, one certainly says to oneself, alas, it is great sorrow! But then one should with the help of meditation by to kill that grief yet , is the practise of meditation such an easy affair that when someone dies at home, you just rise to super consciousness and forget all about it? It requires a life long practice of mediation for it to be found helpful in times of calamity. Religion helps us to remain, as the Gita says, unperturbed in misery, and unelated in happiness.
