Secret of
Success.
People who
have an aim are already on the road t success. You too can have an aim and give
a shape to it as best as you can.
The secret
of success is constancy of purpose with an aim in life, set yourself a target,
a clear goal. Your aim makes energy available for the activity required. Your
aim also works as an energizer and crates suitable climate and conditions.
Only with an
aim Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnana. Philosopher educationist and writer, could
win fame and fortune . His profound knowledge and lucid language made him an
eminent person with heavenly crown. Ferdinand e Lesseps, forceful and energetic
engineer from France, had a definite aim in life. He built the Suez and panama
canals and conferred upon humanity two great benefits john Davison Rockefeller.
American industrialist, had an aim to enlarge him businesses, earn wealth and
share his riches with the less fortunate.
Like the
great men and women of the world you should have an aim to do something
surprising and wonderful, which people will keep in their heart and remember
forever . the mere act of aiming oat something big and working for it makes you
big.
Value of Time
The value of
time most felt by various individuals.
one second
by the road accident victim
one year, by
a student who failed for want of few marks and has to waste one full year.
One month ;
by a mother who has delivered a premature baby.
One week ;
by the editor who could not bring out the magazine for the week.
One hour; by
the bereaved family when the doctor says that if only they had brought the
patient earlier by an hour, he could have saved the life.
Ten minutes
; by the person who missed the beloved because his two wheeler broke down.
One minute
by the person seeing the tail-lamp of the train he should have boarded.
One
hundredth of a second by the sportsman who won the silver medal at the Olympics
losing the Gold.
Quote from
the True Charm and Power of Vedanta
Incarnation
come not to destroy, but to fulfil, and this statement is particularly true of
Sri Krishna. he did not break of ff from accepted traditions, though he
completely changed their significance and bearing. He interpreted old ideals in
a new light to make them suitable to the conditions of life in society and to
give it further push towards progress and perfection. Conflicts between ideals
were resolved in a new synthesis which made life smooth both for the individual
and society as a whole. This is the fundamental note in the message off the
Gita- the spirit of harmony, the finding of unity in diversity; and from this
point o view all apparent contradiction in it or resolved.
IF HE EXIST
I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening
for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him.
One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something,
which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God
does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists?
I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes
rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I
derive 4m.

Enthusiasm is an important asset

Enthusiasm
is an important asset
Enthusiasm I
san important asset that keeps us active whether we are nine or ninety. This
means that people of all ages can find youthfulness if they have eagerness to
fulfil their ambition. Everyone has enthusiasm whether they are aware of it or
not, simply because enthusiasm is within each of us waiting to be utilised for
creative performance and reaching a goal.
You must
find your enthusiasm . like opportunity, you must create it for yourself. In
other words , no one can make you
enthusiastic.
Enthusiasm
is a though, turned into a performance , it is an endless energy that propels
you to your destination. But first you must have a goal you want to reach.
Enthusiasm means that you believe in yourself, that you can move forward with
courage, that you can return to your duty to complete a job, that you can
practise self discipline, that you have a dream, that you see a victory nearby,
you will reach your goal if you use your imagination, grow daily in stature,
and adjust to realities while you work for improvement.
In the words
of Ralph Waldo Emerson “Nothing great was ever achieve without enthusiasm”
Guidelines
for peaceful living
Cultivate
good habits. Sri Paramhansa Yogananda said : Good habits are your best helpers,
preserve their force by stimulating them with good actions. “
Never
trouble another for what you can do yourself. Self-help is the best help.
Algernon Sidney said: “God helps those who help themselves”
What you
have to do today, do it today itself. Time wasted cannot the regained as a
great thinker said; “Lost , yesterday. Somewhere between sunrise and sunset,
two golden hours each set with sixty diamond minutes . no reward is offered for
they are gone forever. “
Be true to
yourself. Polybius wrote; There is no witness so dreadful, no accuser no
terrible as the conscience that dwells in every man”
Keep account
of every paisa you spend . Benjamine Franklin warns us by saying “Beware of
little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship”
Be contented
with what God has given you and thank Him for his blessings , remembering Josh
Billing’s words. “Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those
you hold well”
In whatever
position you are placed , try to remain contented. Condorcet wrote “Enjoy your
own life without comparing it with that of another.
Quote from
the true charm and power of Vedanta
So the Explanation
of a personal God as the creator of the
universe has to stand that test. If that God is out of nature, having nothing
to do with nature, and this nature is the outcome of the command of that God
and produced from nothing, it is a very unscientific theory, and this has been
the weak point of every Theistic religion throughout the ages. These two
defects we find in what is generally called the theory of monotheism, the
theory of a personal God, with all the qualities of a human being multiplied
very much , who, by His will, created this universe out of nothing and yet is
separated from it. This leads us into two difficulties.
As we have
seen, it is not a sufficient generalisation, and secondly , it is not an
explanation of nature from nature it holds that the effect is not the cause ,
that the cause is entirely separate from the effect. Yet all human knowledge
shows that the effect is but the cause in another form. To this idea the
discoveries of modern science are tending everyday. And the latest theory that
ahs been accepted o all sides is the theory of evolution, the principle of
which is that the effect is but the cause in another form, a readjustment of
this cause, and the cause takes the form of the effect . the theory of creation
out of nothing would be laughed at by modern scientist.

Good work in
good life
Work clears
the mind. Work lifts weight and spirits. work overcome adversity and defeat .
work is an exciting thrill! Work is the breath fol fie. Work is the reward for
being alive . Work mines coal from the earth and uncovers diamond! Work moves
the wings that put the eagles high in the air. Work brings reality to the
dreams of inventors intelligent work has made. America the most prosperous
nation in the world. Work, when applied towards a meaningful goal, develops
human potential.
It is work
that has bridged the chasms. Tunnelled the mountains , placed the giant
communication cables on the bottom of the sea, built highways over plains and
deserts. Lifted space ships to the moon, built our factories erected our
schools and hospitals , and made the scientific discoveries that have made our
lives easier and happier.
Work is a
ways of putting your stamp on what you do. If it your personality. Your own
uniqueness. Only through your work can you contribute to human progress . James
w Elliot said. “Work is life and good work is good life” work is love in action
. work supported by a healthy self-image and a positive mental attitude,
multiplies , all future achievement
A to Z
A void
negative sources (negative people, negative places, negative things and
negative habits) Believes in your self. Consider things from every angle. Do
not give up, enjoy life today. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not come. Family
and friends are hidden treasures. Seek them and enjoy their riches. Give more
then you plan to give. Hang onto your dreams. Ignore those who try to
discourage you. Just do it. Keep on trying. No matter how hard it seems, it
will get easier. Love yourself first. Make things happen. Never lie, never
cheat, never steal and always strike a fair deal. Open your eyes and see things
as they really are . practice makes perfection. Quitters never win and winners
never quit. Read study and learn about
everything important in your life. Stop postponing. Take control of your own
destiny. Understand yourself in order to better understand others. Visualise
positive results. Want it more then anything “x” celebrate your efforts. You
are unique in God’s creation. Nothing can replace you Zealous effort is a must.
Quote from
the True charm and power of Vedanta
We know so
little about our real selves! And so little, again, of reality! It is all
mysterious. Precise knowledge of
anything is so difficult to attain! The little learning that we acquire with
the utmost labour of a whole life, has to be done with the help of so many
persons! Without their help, our progress will be very slow. If not impossible
. and yet the learning and knowledge of even the greatest scholar is nothing,
is a mere speck, compared with the infinity that remains to be explored. And
what is God realization? It is the totality of knowledge. Consider, then the
amount and kind of help we must have before we can make any real progress in
the path of spirituality . this path is he set with innumerable obstacles. It
si a narrow path, not straight or board. Who can tell us if we are going along
the correct path o have lost our way ? Nobody but the Guru or Teacher.

Tips for good Human relations
Monday 3 February 2014
Tips for good Human relations
As positive steps to better your relations with others , keep in mind the following points in human relations;
1. Speak gently to people . Be skilful in getting your ideas across . there is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.
2. Listen attentively and patiently.
3. Smile at people . there is power in a smile. What sunshine is to flowers, a smile is to humanity.
4. Call people by name. the sweetest music to anyone’s ears is the sound of his/her own name
5. Be genuinely interested in the other person and his/her problems.
6. . be generous with praise, reserved with flattery, cautious with criticism.
7. Respect others’ personality and individuality.
8. Be thoughtful of the opinions of others there are three sides to a controversy-your, the other fellow’s and the right side
9. Be alert to give service. What counts in life is what we do for others. Human relations are caring and sharing . attention and compassion play a big role.
Tips for happiness
Live a simple life. Be moderate in your habits. Avoid self seeking and selfishness. Make simplicity the keynote of your daily plans . simple things are best.
Spend less then you earn. This may be difficult but it pays big dividends. Keep out of debt. Cultivate saving habit, avoid wasting money.
Think constructively. Train yourself to think clearly and accurately. Store your mind with useful thoughts. Learn to control your mind.
Resist the common tendency to want things your own way. Try to see the other person’s point of view.
Be grateful; begin the day with gratitude for your opportunities and blessings. Be glad for the privilege of life and work. Rule your moods. Cultivate a mental attitude of peace and goodwill.
Give generously. There is no greater joy in life than to render happiness to others by means of intelligent giving.
Work with right motives. The highest purpose of your life should be to grow in spiritual grace and power
Be interested in others. Direct your mind from self-centredness. In the degree that you give, serve, and help, you will experience the by product of happiness.
Live in daylight compartment. This means living one day at a time. Concentrate on your immediate task. Make the most of today for it is all you have.
Have a hobby . nature study, gardening , music, stamp collecting , foreign language books, photography, social service, public speaking , travel authorship are samples. Cultivate a hobby to which you can trun fo diversion and relaxation.
Keep close with God True and enduring happiness depends on close alliance with Him. It is your privilege to share His thoughts for your spiritual nourishment, and to have a constant assurance of Divine protection and guidance.
Both science and religion are interdependent.
The speed with which corruption charges decorate the front page of newspapers all over the world clearly indicates that we go backward in “spiritual life” with the advancement of science.
“Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely’
has become true.
Religion without science is superstitious and science without religion is foolish. But in practice in the name of scientific development we are digging religion in the graveyard. Let us not forget that religion is for our” standard of life” but science can increase only our “standard of living”
The sad paradox of scientific development is that scientific suppression has started replacing religious superstition. Religion begins where science ends and both are dependent on each other.
