Music has power to treat diseases
It has long been known to making that music has invisible powers the power to calm, the power to treat, the power to rouse and the power to evoke emotions. Every culture of the world has used music to increase and change their mental and physical states. Music therapy is a structured use of musical experiences to make easier positive changes in human behaviour and to clear the negative elements. It works like a cure medicine in cases of stress, depression, anxiety and pain, depression, anxiety and pain. Music therapy can also be used to treat sleeplessness, epilepsy, strokes, learning disabilities , brain injuries and ageing related conditions. Evidence shows that listening to suitable music normalises blood pressure, stabilises heart rate. Brightens concentration and creativity.
It is a scientific fact that sound affects every living thing . Harsh, loud and unpleasant sound scan disturb the mind as well at the body . Perfectly metered sounds have highly beneficial effects on all. The mantras of the Vedas are in fact scientific sound formulas set in such a manner. That when chanted in accordance with the prescribed meter of sound, have powerful effects on the surrounding atmosphere. The rhythmic sounds of temple bells and vibrations produced by shanks, (conch shell) during devotional practises have also been found to have curative applications.
Musical power of Indian Ragas ; All musical notes have a particular vibration which is similar in some way to some part of the body. The Indian ragas are aimed towards making these vibrations more active. The ragas are designed in keeping with the various cycles of the season and times of the day. These are then brought into line with the corresponding meridians in the body. The excremental studies on therapeutic evolution of the classical ragas have shown interesting results . the afternoon Raag Sarang, for instance , is effective in treating epilepsy. Singing or listening of Raag Bhairavi has been found to uproot the disease of kapha dosha e.g asthma, chronic cold. Cough, tuberculosis , some of the sinus and chest related problems. Raag Asavari is effective in eliminating the impurities of blood and related disease . Raag Malhar calms anger, excessive mental excitement and mental instability. Raag Saurat and Raag jaijavanti have also been found effectie in curing mental disorders and calming the mind. Raag Hindola helps in sharpening the memory and focussing mental concentration Raag bageshwari is one of the rare ragas that control the mind. when over power by despair and defeat. Don’t be discouraged by criticism
The age in which we live is an age of criticism. Many subjects are brought before the public opinion and judgment passed on them. Criticism is good when the motive is to improve or build instead of discourage and destroy.
Some critics are cynical in spirit. They are always on the look out for a vary small speck on a clean sheet. They conceal their own vices and shortcomings by turning the spotlight on people’s faults . often people with noble intentions and actions come under the fire of criticism. We should never pay attention to what people with mean mind say. They occupy themselves with fault finding and are ready to scoff at everything.
Critics are the grumbles who will do nothing to set matters right. They are invariably the least efficient helpers in the school of life. Do not forget that the least industrious members of society are the readiest to complain. Critics find a little bad in the best of things. Remember that there has never been set up a statue in hours of a critic.
If you are criticised on the good work you are doing for society do not be discouraged. The kite rises against the wind, not with it!
Deciding what you want most in life is the first step towards achieving it.
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
There is great deal of difference between a philosopher or a man of book learning, and a Seer-of –Truth or a man of realisation. The philosopher may have studied all the Vedas and other Scriptures and may be able to quote long passages from them, but eh Seer-of-Truth knows because he has seen, The first merely repeats what he has learned; the second says, “Yes, I know!” Thus his words are bold. Experience is the real and only way of acquiring strengths. Real strength comes through realization; when a man has been God he can declare with conviction that there is a God. When we have seen a thing, no matter how much people may deny the existence of that thing, we ca still stand up boldly and declare, “I know it exists.”
But, if He exists?
I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Forgiveness is giving up my right to hate you for hurting me.
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
When the mind is not concentrated, it is weak and we cannot accomplish
any thing with it. Our mind in the first three state is like think fibres which
are scattered and separated one form the other,
it cannot stand any pressure, but breaks. Easily. But when through the
power of concentration we are able to wind our scattered thoughts into one
cord, then we are able to resist all distractions, even as twisted fibres can
resist the strength of an elephant.

Adaptability- most desirable habit for success.
Swami sivanada
Adaptability is a virtue or noble quality by which one accommodates to others, whatever their nature or temperament. This is a mos desirable habit for success in life and has to be developed slowly.
Adaptability is the knack of winning the hearts of others and ultimately, the battle fo life by a little bit of bending. If you want to adapt yourself to all. You must be flexible, humble and simple, gentle and soft. An adaptable person shares what he ahs with others. He bears insults and hard words. Adaptability kills selflessness and develops universal love.
The world runs on adaptability. one who knows the art of adaptability can live happily in any environment. An adaptable person can move about harmoniously with anybody in the world. Adaptability give immense strength and profound joy. It develops a strong will and balance of mind. Adaptability develops the feeling of oneness our unity of live (Courtesy ; “Yoga”)
Make the best use of what is in your power and take the rest as it happens.
For the last 10 years we bark at everyone.
One day, God created dog and said; “Sit all day near the door of the house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past . For this, I shall give yo a lifespan of twenty years”. The dong said, “That is long time to be barking . How about ten years and I will give you back the other ten?’God agreed.
On the next day. God created the monkey and said, “Entertain people, do tricks and make them laugh. For this, I shall give you a twenty year lifespan”. The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? That is pretty long time to perform . how about I give you back ten years like the Dod did?” God agreed.
On the next day, God created the cow and said; “You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family . for this , I shall give you a lifespan of sixty years”. The cow said, “That will be a tough life for me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I shall give back the other forty? God agreed again.
Next day, God created man and said.” Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this , I shall give you twenty year. “ But man said, “Could you possibly give me may twenty , the forty the cow gave back, the monkey’s ten years and the dog’s ten years. That makes eighty? “. Okay’, said God.
That is why the first twenty years eat, sleep , play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we work hard in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren. And for the lat ten years we sit on the veranda and bark at everyone.
Quote from The true charm and power of Vedanta
The “Dhamapada”, or Path to Virtue.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought; it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks ora acts with an evil thought, pain follows him, as the wheel follows the foot of the ox that draws the carriage.
All the we are is the result of what we have thought; it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up o four thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that neve leaves him.
The virtuous delights in this world, and he delights in the nest; he delights in both. He delights and rejoices when see the purity of his own work.
Earnestness is the path of immortality , thoughtlessness the path of death. Those who are in earnest do not die; Those who are in earnest do not die; those who are thoughtless are as if dead already.
