Principles of True Teaching
Principles of True Teaching
The first principle of true teaching is that nothing can be taught. The teacher is not an instructor or taskmaster; he is a helper and a guide.
The second principles is that mind has to be consulted in its own growth. The child must be induced to expand in accordance with its own nature.
The third principle of education is to work from the near to the far. The basis of man’s nature is almost always in addition to his soul’s past, his heredity, his surroundings, his nationality, his country, the soil from which he draws substance, the air which he breathes, the sights, the sound habits to which he is accustomed.
There are three things which are of utmost importance in dealing with a man’s moral nature, the emotions, the samskaras or formed habits and associations , and the svabhava or nature, . the only way for him to train himself morality is to habituate himself to the right emotions, the noblest associations, the best mental emotional and physical habits and the following outright action of the fundamental impulses of his essentials Nature.
Your confidence Afterwards
A politician is a fellow who shakes your hand before an election and your confidence afterwards.
Strength
Strength must be tempered with gentleness. If you are strong willed and not gentle, you are likely to be stubborn. The truly great is even he who knows when to yield and when to stand firm.
Let us not Blame others
Let us not blame others, but look for and find the best in everyone. Then we will be filled with a wondrous peace and will find that all that is happening is happening for the best.

I drive joy
There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 5 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the ten minutes joy that I derive from? I am not robbing you of your joy; why should you rob me of mine. He asked. The critics were silenced. –Baba- Chinna Katha

Mass and Energy
Mass and energy
The elusive Higgs-Boson particle popularly called the God-particle is the focus of the world's largest scientific experiment. If identified, it would help explain why some subatomic particles are heavy and have a greater mass than others.
Hindu tradition believes that the entire cosmos is a combination of Shiva and Shakti. Shiva represents tangible matter and Shakti, intangible energy and qualitative aspect associated with matter. Mass and energy are interconvertible. Shiva and Shakti are also deeply interrelated; they cannot be separated.
The particle is like Shiva and the charge, spin, mass energy and such parameters are like Shakti . Looking for the Higgs-Boson particle is like looking for Shiva in Shakti finding the cause of the particle's mass ^ when actually they are both just different manifestations of the supreme unity. The entire experiment is analogous to finding the quantitative basis of a quality. Like trying to find a particle that makes beauty beautiful. Is it possible to find a tangible quantitative parameter for a very fundamental attribute?
Beauty is because there is an observer. The observer is also as much a manifestation as the observed entity as the act of observation. Nothing exists a priori. Even if the Big Bang theory were to be ratified, the bigger issue of who engineered its initiation still remains. And if space was also a derivative of the Big Bang, then in what space did this phenomenal expansion take place?
Every objective existence is entirely a function of the observer. So any phenomenon is inexorably connected with the noumenon. Subject and object are interdependent on cognition. Like the quaint example of a falling tree in the forest. If no one has seen it falling, then it never fell. The supreme knowledge ^ unification or segregation of Shiva and Shakti cannot be studied or experimentally verified. It has to be experienced. One has to become it. Meaning that the knower-knowledge distinction is no longer there.
Science might keep trying to satiate its unquenchable desire for tangibility but the end point of this endeavour will only yield ambiguity. Because the fundamental truth is that the observer in any experiment is a constituent of it. Identification and ratification of observer-observed dichotomy is an apparition. The hypnotic spell of maya . The greatest quality of maya is that it appears uniform to one and all. So, if everyone is unanimous about the existence of a tree, then it has to be there. Maya creates a uniform and consistent mirage and statistics coerce the senses into believing the appearance.
Physics didn't stop looking once Einstein proclaimed and proved the interconvertibility of mass and energy. Quantum physics opened a Pandora's box and ridiculed logic and the basis of scientific deduction. Quantum theory is virtually the science of the improbable, scientific logic leading to the illogical. It has come up with bizarre predictions like Schroedinger's cat supposition. We have tried to understand nature through a narrow prism and force its entirety into a limited frame of comprehension.
Probably, failure to demonstrate the Higgs-Boson particle might impel us to turn inwards and seek to redefine scientific approach. The Higgs-Boson particle is just a logical extrapolation of our limited understanding. It might just end up being the non-existent proof of a non-existent theory...
Experience never needed any experiment since it cannot be reproduced at will and under specified conditions. Probably unraveling the entire mystery of Creation needs not a Large Hadron Collider but a large perception assimilator.

Give it Alive
“I am rich enough”, said Alexander Pope to Jonathan Swift, “ and can afford to give away a hundred pounds a year. I will enjoy the pleasure of what I give by giving it alive and seeing another enjoys it. When I die I should be ashamed to leave enough for a monument if a friend in need was above ground.”
Day after day thousands die, yet the living behave as if they will live for ever. This is the most wonderful thing in life.

Stress Busters.
Stress Busters.
You cannot smooth out the surf, but you can learn to ride the waves.
Life consists of ups and downs. Rather than trying to avoid all negative feelings, learn to accept down times as a normal part of life and become skilled at dealing with those feelings in a healthy way.
Try to avoid or at least spend less time with people who are constantly angry, pessimistic, frightening or critical. If any of these people are in your immediate family, recognize that you cannot change them, but you can work on setting limits and boundaries to reduce the number and frequency of stressful interactions.
A research study at Philadaelphia’s St. Joseph university has shown that writing about problems and possible solutions may improve both physical and psychological health. Try writing about whatever is currently causing you the most stress, including your honest feelings about it. When you have finished, either keep what you have written to refer to later or tear up the paper and throw it away.
Do not let yourself be pushed into making important decisions without enough thought. You may be asking for trouble by not taking the time necessary to consider the potential results of your choices.
Absolute and relative states of freedom-
Metals are good conductors of electricity and heat, unlike non-metals. Although electrons constitute a major component of both, the nature of these particles makes the difference.
While in non-metals the electrons are not free, in metals there are both free and non-free (bound) electrons. The free electrons are responsible for most of the distinguishing properties of metals.
There is the value of freedom in material bodies. Its importance is no less in life. If a person is asked to choose between wealth and freedom, a rational man would probably choose the latter. The history of civilisation is the progress from bondage to freedom. Indeed the richness of a civilisation depends on the degree of freedom enjoyed by the people.
Freedom is synonymous with positive energy, whereas bondage represents negative energy. Just as a material particle can be excited from a bound to a free state by acquiring energy, a person can acquire freedom from bondage by acquiring energy.
A person can lose freedom by losing energy. What is the source of this energy? Education liberates. It creates self-confidence, courage, equanimity and fair-play in a person. It releases us from ignorance and paves the way for knowledge. It takes us from darkness to light. It gives hope when we are in despair.
Freedom is related to necessity. If our necessities are ignored, we do not enjoy freedom. Anybody can think freely. However, if the society or state imposes constraints in translating thoughts into action, it deprives us of our freedom. If we are not responsible, freedom is of little value.
No one is entirely free or wholly bound. Every one of us enjoys some degree of freedom and is bound in some way or other. Just as opposites coexist in nature, we also have both freedom and bondage. Bondage, rather freedom, binds us together, be it in the family, in society or in a larger entity like the country. In a broader sense, there is universal freedom. Bondage resulting from love and affection, gratitude and sense of duty is a virtue. Sometimes we are bound by laws and rules. We accept this as our duty.
It is the bondage among constituents, rather than their freedom, which is responsible for the stability of a material, too. The science of materials can show how bondage, combined with freedom, leads to extraordinary situations. Freedom of electrons is the cause of electrical conductivity in metals. However, if this freedom results from bondage, then it can give rise to superconductivity of infinite current. Superconductivity sets in when two free electrons of certain opposite quantum characteristics bind together.
Indic philosophy suggests that a soul becomes absolutely free, when it, the jeevatma, binds wholly or is in perfect union with the super-soul, the paramatma. This statement leads to knowledge which proclaims that absolute bondage manifests in absolute freedom. The scientific example appears to be a close congruence of this, though there might be different perceptions.
The relationship between freedom and bondage can be scientifically understood within the uncertainty principle of quantum theory, which states that confinement increases kinetic energy. For example, if we wish to locate an electron by using the particle of light-photon, as a probe, it hits the electron, which runs away. Confinement stands for bondage and kinetic energy leads to freedom. It is justified spiritually on the basis of what Krishna says to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita: "Abandoning all other activities, come into my fold (bondage); I shall free you from all worldly bondages." Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

Importance of Critical Thinking (Recycled story C/F)
Importance of Critical Thinking
Now- a-days, most of us have developed herd mentality. This has grown into a so strong a habit that it is deeply ingrained in our lives. Even the things we buy, we routinely buy what our friends, relatives recommend; even the advertisements influence us. For whatever we do, we seek approval of other or simply do what others do. Our values, our assumptions, infect, everything we do and hold are done without ever questioning.
What is wanting, is out of-the-box thinking, original thought and critical analysis. Just imagine for a moment, how much more efficient we could become if we apply critical thinking. When we do so right through our routine tasks to making important decisions, we can come to more logical conclusions and mange ourselves better.
Critical thinking requires taking charge of our thought process. It involves rational analysis, dispassionate evaluation and prudence to fosters open-mindedness, discipline and better judgment. When we attain this sate of mind, we gain enriched communications and self-expression. Among children, it fosters remarkable learning and retention abilities. As it also involves new thoughts process, it gives way to creativity too. In real life situations we waver between creative thinking and critical analysis when we explore solutions to our problems. In such situations it helps us split complex problems enabling us to solve them step by stop. Co critical thinking skills are essential for all effective panning, problem-solving and decision making process.
Importance of drinking water
Drinking plenty of pure water. Drink six to eight glasses of water daily between meals. Do not neglect this important habit. Drink a glass of water the first thing on rising and the last thing before retiring. Pure water cleans and renews the system. It is one of the best and most available means for keeping the body pure healthy. Always drink slowly. Appreciate the value of pure water, and enjoy it as you drink it.
Perfect Moments
Life never seems to be the way we want it, but we live it the best way we can. There is no perfect life, but we can fill it with perfect moments.
People always call it luck when you have acted more sensibly than they have.
Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.
One should have a unique character like salt, its presence is not felt but It’s absence makes all the difference.
