A greedy man does not care for your Vedanta philosophy

For, he has his own philosophy which is more convenient and more profitable!

A greedy man may die, but ever remains his greed.

Neither do I condemn money nor do I condemn man. Rather, I condemn greed.

A greedy man’s property is grabbed by greedy man only.

]I pray;

May everybody have enough money but not greed.

Man without money is flower without honey.

Verily you are good. O money! Yet the bad names to you are many!

Because you held bad company.

So, please remain, O money! always in holy company!

Some are corrupt with regard to money.

Some are corrupt with regard to women.

Some are corrupt with regard to power.

But corruption does not lie in money, women or power.

It is lurking in the mind .Educate the mind and eradicate corruption.

O money! How much tear of sorrow you have brought to many!

O money! How may hand have caressed you lovingly!

O money! How much tear of joy you have brought to many!

The object of religion is to raise human life and consciousness to divine life and consciousness. It is, in fact, a God-possession by which every aspect of life is elevated and transformed into an absolute state of perfection.

The purpose of all spiritual discipline such as prayer, worship and self-dedication is to attain to this exalted state. It must be at the very outset understood that the supreme Truth that we aspire to realise is dwelling within every one of us.

By a continuous recollection and meditation of this Truth, we ought to provide favourable internal conditions so that this supreme Reality may purify the emotions of the heart and fill it with love, compassion and peace; that it may illumine the intellect with the vision of equality and a universal sense of oneness in the multitudinous revelations of nature, that it may be made to flow out spontaneously by the balance of a purified heart and inspired intellect as selfless action that tends towards the regeneration of humanity without any distinction of race, creed, colour or nationality.

The intellect, detached and merged in the super-conscious and static existence behind the manifestation, should stand as an eternal witness, calm, serene and filled with radiance, supporting the workings of universal love and service for which the heart and body are made the instruments.

God, who is at once the immanent and transcendent spirit, who is the one sole Reality, is not only the silent and attributeless Brahmn but also a Truth revealed as eternal light, infinite love and endless peace and bliss.

I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But, if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.

Mind according to Vedanta

You have to reach the superconcious level through effort; you have to go beyond ego through ego; you have to go beyond reason though reason. Not by discarding reason, you have to go beyond action though action. Sri Krishna declares in the Bhagvad gita that you cannot reach the state or worklessness by simply giving up work. If you want to attain serenity of mind and the ability to live a contemplative life, you have to attain it through the right kind of work. Simply by giving up your duties or by not undertaking duties’ you cannot reach that state. Through work you go beyond work . if the work is rightly directed it can lead you beyond work . Similarly, your reason , rightly directed can lead you beyond its scope . Reason has a limited range, beyond that it is helpless. if you lose your way , you ask a traffic policeman for directions. He will direct you , but will not take you there personally . Reason functions in the same way. A man of God tells you of the nature of God and the world and of the path to take to realize God, but he cannot take you all the way. You reason on his works and eventually reach the goal, thus using reason to go beyond reason.

Through will you surrender the will . Self surrender does not mean that you are nothing. A simpleton. There are different kinds of self-surrender in this world. A robber enters your house and says that you have to give all your money to him otherwise he will kill you . you give him all the money you have. You surrender to him a compulsory self-surrender. In another case you understand the worthiness of a great noble laudable cause and you dedicate all you have to that cause; a voluntary self-surrender. Perhaps you find a person who can really guide you and you submit to his superior knowledge; another kind of self-surrender. or another man come and gets you to do certain things by bribing you; another kind of self-surrender . our will in the foregoing cases is overcoming through will .

There are only two things in existence. One is the ‘happening’ that we know as physical creation. And the other is the ‘lap’ in which such creation happens. A ‘happening’ — small or big — always happens in time.

That which happens in time is fleeting in nature and, hence, is temporary. Being temporary, physical creation is always subject to rise and fall. In a certain period of time, a ‘happening’ becomes happened.

The important thing is the lap in which creation happens. In yogic lore, though this lap is named variously such as Consciousness, Reality and Truth, we can simply call it as the ‘Sakshi’, or witnessing. It’s non-physical and, hence, is never a part of the time. Sakshi is like the cinema screen on which entire creation appears and disappears and, yet, the screen remains unaffected. Also, the screen is there all the time. It never changes — neither appears nor disappears like physical existence.

Spirituality means to go beyond the physical. Because if you are lost in the physical, then you will belong to samsara that means continue moving in circles but not reaching any place.

Being a sakshi means becoming the very screen on which are projected all the happenings including what happens within you and, yet, remaining untouched by such happenings. An enlightened being is one who is always rooted in sakshi.

Liberation — mukti as we know in yogic wisdom — from physical existence is possible only by becoming a sakshi to the physical world. Meditation is the way forward to becoming a sakshi.

What is Real Personality

It is our birthright within. Those ho neglect this vital aspect of personality are the killers of their own self, say the scriptures. The people of gross mind and dull intellect neglect their spiritual dimension. Thinking that it will hamper their worldly affairs. They think that it is meant only for saints and sannayashins to lead spiritual life; and they need not have to bother about it. The purpose of human life is to manifest this divinity within. Irrespective caste, creed, sex, colour, position and status. Everyone must struggle to manifest this dimension. Swami Vivekananda sys. ‘If the fisherman thinks that he is the sprit, he will be a better fishermen, if the students thinks he is the spirit , he will be a better student. If the lawyer thinks that he is a spirit, he will be a better lawere; How to do it By removing ignorance. What is ignorance? Ignorance is nothing but the impurity of the mind. The persons of your mind alone can realize the divine . And , therefore one should never deviate from the path of righteousness. There are six enemies ie lust, anger, greed, delusion, pride and jealousy. The moment we drive them away from the mind, the Divine will reflect in that pure mirror of our mind. Just remove the cloud of ignorance and the sun of knowledge will shine froth. How to remove these impurities from the mind?

Thee are four different paths suited to different temperaments. They are; Bhakti oga, Janana yoga, Karma Yoga and Raja yoga. That is the path of devotion, the path of discrimination. The path of selfless action, and the path of meditation. Regular practice of these four yogas will help us to manifest our divine nature removing all impurities from the mind. And therefore every day, we must spare sometimes for prayer, meditation, japa selfless service, and practice of discrimination, which will certainly help us to develop the spiritual dimension of our personality.

Conclusion

A harmonious growth of the physical, the mental, the intellectual and the spiritual dimension is essential for the all round development of personality. Struggle for perfection in all these aspects will ultimately leas us to the development of the real personality. Once we succeed in doing that, there will be a tremendous qualitative change in our lives. A great number of such people will certainly form a better society; and they will raises this nation once again to its highest glory.

Attitude determines the lifestyle of a person and it develops when perception is followed by projection. Positive and negative attitudes are acquired by an individual over a period of time and according to their development, human beings fall into three categories: there are those who imagine and project difficulties in any undertaking even before they start work and end up doing nothing. They are like the car that will not start unless given a push.

The second kind is called Prarambh Shura. They are inspired initially, but give up for lack of perseverance. The third kind is those who become more and more inspired to execute a job, the more challenges and difficulties they face. Even if you are successful, negativity in attitude can crop up at any time for unknown reasons.

Remember: 1. You alone are responsible for your attitude. 2. As is your attitude, so are your perceptions. 3. As is your perception, so is your interaction with the world. 4. As is the interaction, so is the experience of life. 5. As is the experience, so is the quality of life.

Negative attitudes are the result of a weak personality at the physical, emotional and intellectual level. Physical strength can be gained by proper intake of food, and regular exercise. Good health helps us to come out of negativity. Emotional stamina too is a must. One must remember that life is not about being successful, it is also the ability to go through both success and failure with grace. In success, we enjoy, and from failure, we learn.

The spirit of inquiry which possessed them led them to question experience, to question the envisioning world; it also led them to fearlessly question their gods and the tenets of their traditional faiths. In this latter field, they showed their uniqueness in contrast to the other gifted people of the ancient world namely the Greeks , who did not experience the same urge to subject their religions to that rational investigation which they so diligently and passionately applied to social and political phenomena , and in which their contributions where to become unique and lasting. The Upanishadic, and earlier , even the Vedic, sages did not also fear to doubt when rational , certain knowledge was difficult to come by. They illustrate the truth of the creative role of scepticism; in the pursuit of truth, such skepticism is but the prelude to rational faith.

When they sought for the truth of the external universe , they found in baffling ; inquiry only depended the mystery . The nasa diya sakta  of the Rig Veda records the impact of the mystery on the ancient Indian mind in language at once fascinating and provoking  . that mind discovered early, as modern thinkers are slowly discovering today, that the mystery of the external world will only depend and not diminish in spite of advancing knowledge, if the mystery of the inner world of man is not tackled. For a complete philosophy of reality, thee is need to have data from both the fields of experience, the outer and the inner.

Modern science has become aware of the influxes of the datum of the observer on the knowledge of the observed data. If the self as knower is inextricably involved in the knowledge of the not self, of the known an inquiry into the nature of the self and the nature of knowledge become not only a valid but also an indispensable and integral part of the scientific investigation into the nature of reality . Spiritual fulfillment

Many feel life is passing by too quickly. We move from one season to the next and wonder where the time went. Most of the time we are so busy, we hardly have a moment to think about our life, our goals and our priorities. It seems at times that our life is not really our own. Our daily schedule is often controlled by our employer or family members who need us. It seems that there is hardly a spare moment left just to sit in stillness and reflect on where our life is going.

We can avoid being aimlessly adrift on the sea of life. We can spend some time to decide the direction we wish to go in. If we look at the lives of great people, many of them had decided on a direction in life.

They may have wished to pursue their art, their hobby, their science, their research or their spiritual growth. If we devote time to the spiritual side and empower the soul, then we will find that growth in other aspects of our life comes easier. It is similar to putting money in a savings account; the money will accrue interest that will help us with our other expenditures later on.

By sitting in meditation for some time each day, we would find that we are using our time for lasting spiritual gains.

Meditation is a way to devote time to our body, mind and soul. It allows us to spend some time daily in the quiet of our own self and tap into the treasures within. The byproduct of that is that it also has an effect on improving our physical, mental and emotional health and wellness.
