To weed out inferiority complex

Those who tend to believe that they are culturally socially and intellectually inferior should, first of all, give off their inferiority complex. Though it might be deep rooted , it should be possible to weed it out. Of course it is not so easy as throwing away an unwanted article. Our first and foremost duty is to develop confidence in our own immense power, which is latent. In the past seers and men of spiritual insight said that behind the apparently limited powers of man are hidden unlimited mysterious powers. If only we have the power to recognize them. Today psychologists are reaffirming this fact with the help of their experimental observations. To arouse these powers, nothing more than self-confidence is required. We should strive to rise from the state in which we are right now. We should gradually attain success, scaling each step through effort.

Whatever negative attitude we might have developed that weakens us should be curbed. We ought to develop a technique to strengthen our self-confidence. This of course is not something that can be accomplished in a single day. Though it may appears impossible in the beginning patience and sustained effort will help us to overcome difficulties and to gain confidence. Confidence is nothing but the feeling of assurance that deep within us there is a store of abundant energy waiting to be unfold. The lack of this assurance leads to anxiety, fear, doubt, inefficiency and all kinds of debility and weakens. This self confidence enables us not to crave for the mercy of the influential and the powerful. Prevents us from developing a sense of raging hate saves us from dejection and gives us the inspiration to become self-reliant. The urge to utilize every opportunity and succeed in life proceeds from this very spirit of self confidence.

Swami Vivekananda said that it is a great sin to believe that one is a weakling and sinner. If we have to believe we are all his parts and we share with Him His unlimited energy and His unlimited sense of bliss. We have seen that true religion is the very backbone of true education. the young men and women who have received such ideal education enter the married life with developed body and restrained mind, with a sense of trust and faith, which are said to be secrets of even physical enjoyment . Success follows them wherever they go.

But those who did not observe purity of character duet to lack of religious training enter the married life without faith and with a sense of guilt and suspicion. They will have slender chances of making happy homes before these have even been built, they will be on the way to breaking up. Generate Self-confidence from within

“We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of dong, others judge us by what we have done” is a famous line by one of the greatest American poets, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. In these words, he has summed up the simple truth of life which generations have been unable to find. These words speak volumes about the clarity of perception that only great people like him can be supposed to possess. His words teach us, like The Gita the value of action which justifies the very purposes of our existence . if we are not able to decide the purpose of our existence, we are bound to be called useless by our fellow-citizens . it is their respect and esteem which constitute the greatest treasure we can have.

The great American president Abraham Lincoln, once said, “If you forfeit the confidence of your fellow-citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem”. These two valuable things-respect and esteem-can be earned by you for ever, if you decided your real goal. When you realize what you want, you can begin for journey to achieve it. The great inventor  Galileo, thought that nobody can teach a man anything; everybody can help one’s own self by finding it within oneself . actually , he was aware of the great attribute of man- self-confidence –which can help him rise above his lot. Once you start working towards what you want to achieve with self-confidence, your life becomes enjoyable and easier. Focused efforts bring the accomplishment of a task well within your reach and a feeling which energizes you, fills you with a new confidence that takes you further on your way to the attainment of your goal. It is your success which reveals your real strength by which people judge y our worth

Self-confidence cannot be developed by support from outside . it has to be generated from within. If you trust yourself and carry on with the best you can do, you at once shed the feeling of failure. A sincere effort never goes in vain. if you trust yourself, others can help  you, they can never betray you. No one can deter you from achieving what you have decided to. On your way to the accomplishment of your task. you may have difficulty, but let no difficulty weigh on your mind and march towards your goal nonchalantly., distraction of any kind makes a dent in your personality and your disposition changes in a fraction of a second . it is detrimental to your positive outlook. Without your positive outlook you fail to make any mark that has the power with which you can stand out in a crowd. All that you need to do is to work confidently and truthfully.

When we want to study religion we should apply this scientific process. The same principle also holds good here, and as a fact we find that that has been the method all though. It is clear as daylight that thoughts and emotions are the two most important influences upon man’s life. He who wants to walk on the path of progress should understand the grate power of thought. Whenever a thought associated with fear and doubt leads to an action it produces generally a negative result. Whenever a thought, associated with self confidence and optimism leads to an action, it has generally a constructive result.

Regarding the power of mind, there is an incontrovertible law; Like attracts, like begets like, like becomes like: In other words, when we think of good thoughts, they lead us to good people and good things in life. When we think evil thoughts they lead us to evil people and evil things in life. This truth, reaffirmed by modern experimental research, was stated by Gautama Buddha about two thousand and five hundred years ago. According to the Buddha, what we are today, is the fruit of our thoughts.,

Thoughts are the basis for our present condition. If a man speaks having good thoughts in his mind and acts accordingly happiness follows him as shadow follows man. If another man goes on thinking evil thoughts and acts accordingly, grief pursues him, just as wheels follow the legs of the horses drawings a carriage.

We may have indulges so far in innumerable weakening and humiliating thoughts. Should we proceed on the path of progress we should, right from now on, imbibe good thoughts and ennoble our life. Once a thought arises in the mind again. If one repeats a thought many times, it becomes an integral part of the mind. The powerful thought in our mind exerts its influence not only on yourself but also on those around you.

So is it not desirable that you stop and think what kind of thoughts you welcome into your mind and what kind of thoughts you drive away? You should be particularly alert about what sort of thoughts rules your mind before you go to bed and make a conscious effort to wipe out evil thoughts through a careful analysis and self-criticism. When you wake up, you should make up your mind not to entertain vicious thought and start the day positively. Victor Hugo, the famous writer said. “Before going to sleep, have good expectations, love and forgiveness’ as your pillow. Then you will wake up in the morning with overwhelming joy and cheerfulness” courtesy wisdom

They have also the theory of reincarnation which says that after the dissolution of this body, the Jiva will have another, and after that has been dissolved , it will again have another, and so on, either here or in some other worlds; but this world is given the preference, as it is considered the best of all worlds for our purpose. Other worlds are conceived of as worlds where thee is very little misery, but for that very reason, they argue, there is less chance of thinking of higher thins there. As this world contains some happiness and a good deal of misery, the Jiva some time or other gets awakened as it were, and thinks of freeing itself. but just as very rich person in this world have the least chance of thinking of higher things, so the Jiva in heaven has little chance of progress, for its condition is the same as that of rich man, only more intensified; it has a very fine body which knows no dieses; and

is under no necessity of eating or drinking , and all its desires are fulfilled the Jiva lives there, having enjoyment after enjoyment, and so forgets all about its real nature. Still the are some higher worlds, where in spite of all enjoyments its further evolution is possible. Some dualists conceive of the goal as the highest heaven, where souls will live with God for ever. They will have beautiful bodies and will know neither diseases nor death, nor any other evil, and all their desires will be fulfilled. From time to time some of them will come back to this earth and take another body to teach human beings the way to God; and the great teachers of the world have been such . They were already free, and were living with God in the highest sphere; but their love and sympathy for suffering humanity was so great that they came and incarnated again to teach mankind the way to heaven.

Of course we know that the Advaita holds that the cannot be the goal or the ideal; bodilesseness must be the ideal or the ideal; bodlilessness must be the ideal. The ideal cannot be finite. Anything short of the Infinite cannot be the ideal, and there cannot be an infinite body. That would be impossible , as body comes from limitation. There cannot be infinite thought, because thought comes from limitation. We have to go beyond the body and beyond thought too, says the Advaita, and we have also seen that according to Advaita this freedom is not to be attained, it is already ours. We only forget it and deny it. Perfection is not to be attained, it is already within us, Immortality and bliss are not to be acquired, we possess them already; they have been our all times. Moral story

Sankaran was an assistant in a bank. His wife sundaramma was a noble lady They had a daughter called Bhavana.

Sankaran bought a piece of land far away the city and constructed his little home eaving a lot of space all around

Sundarama planted a number of flower and fruit trees in the specious compound. She loved trees like her children and nourished them with care and love. Like her mother, Bhavaa too loved trees.

Few years passed peacefully. Somehow, Sankaran came into contact with a couple of friends who wasted money in playing cards. Sankaran also became a victim of this habit. He spent more and more time playing cards.

Sundaramma observed that Sankaran was returning home late in the night and leaving home early in the morning. He was also not giving her enough money to mange the home.

Sankaran began taking bribes from the customers for doing favours the manger came to know about the illegal activities of Sankaran. An enquiry was conducted, a case was filed and Sankaran was suspend from service. As there was not enough money to meet his demands.

Sankaran took a loan mortgaging his house. He was not able to pay the interest to the money lender the money lender filled a case and obtained a order to sell the house.

The house was sold in a public auction to an industrialist who wanted to demolish the hose, cut the trees and add the land to his adjacent factory

When people came to cut the trees. Bhavana , along with her friends surrounded the trees and protested. As she loved trees like her own siters . Bhavaa cried and requested them not to harm the trees. They went back and reported the matter to the industrialist. The industrialist came and met Bhavana and her friends. He said with kindness in his heart. My dear child, why are you objecting to cutting the trees? I wanted this piece of land to expand my factory.” Bhavana with tears in her eyes and folded hands explained her agony. “Dear uncle, please do not hard the trees. I will study well, become a Doctor and earn enough money to pay your dues. Kindly allow us to live with our dear trees in peace and joy” The kind industrialist patted on the back of Bhavana and said lovingly “My dear child, carry on with your trees peacefully you can pay my dues when you become a doctor.”

Years passed and Bhavana stood first in MBBS Bhavana friens arrange a feliciatin party and invited an industrialist as the chief guest . During the function Bhavana came to the stage to receive the honour. The industrialist in his address said, “Dear friends , this girl Bhavana may not recognize me but I know her. Several years back this brilliant girl protected the trees in her garden. I am very happy to donate Ten lakhs rupees and the land where she lived to construct a hospital to serve the poor.

Bhavana did remember the earlier incident. She was very happy and touched the feet of the industrialist seeking his blessings.

Bhavana’s father, who was in the audience observed this unexpected development shed tears and became a good and noble man from then on. With the blessing of the industrialist. Bhyavana her father and mother loved trees and nurtured them with joy Bhavana continued to serve the poor by giving tree treatment.

Work is worship

The highest man cannot work, for there is no biding element, no attachment, no ignorance in him. A ship said to have passed over a mountain a magnet ore, and all the bots and bars were brawn out, and it went to pieces. It is in ignorance that struggle remains, because we are all really atheists. Real theists cannot work. We are atheists more or less. We do not see God or believe in Him. He is G-O-D to us, and nothing more  there are moments when we think He is near, but then we fall down again. When you see Him, who struggles for whom? Help the Lord! There is a proverb in our language, Shall we teach the Architect of the universe how to build? So those are the highest of mankind who do not work. The next time you see these silly phrase about the word and how we must all help God and do this or that for Him, remember this. Do not think such thoughts; they are too selfish. All the work you do is subjective, isdone for your own benefit. God has not fallen into a ditch for you and me to help Him out by building a hospital or some thing of that sort. He allows you to work. He allowes you to exercise your muscles in this great gymnasium, not in order to help

Him but that you may help yourself. Do you think even an ant will die for want of your help? Most arrant blasphemy! The world goes on, you re like drop in th ocean. A leaf does not move, the wind does not blow without Him. Blessed are we that we are given the privilege for working for Him, not of helping Him, cut out this word ‘help’ from your mind. You cannot help; it is blaspheming. You are here yourself  at His pleasure . Do you mean to say, you help Him? You worship, when you give a morsel of food to the dog, you worship the dog as God, God is in that dog he is the dog.. He is  all and in all . We are allowed to worship Him. Stand in that reverent attitude to the whole universe and then will come perfect –non attachment. This should be your duty. This is the proper attitude of work. Use your mind power

You can use your mind and the power of visualization to achieve success and happiness A promotion? A happy marriage? Healthy children? Here are five effective ways to use mind power to accomplish and achieve anything.

1.       Follow the law of attraction: This universal law simply states that like attract like. This means that by using your mind power to think positive thoughts, you attract positive things. Curb all negativity thought and feelings from yourself and focus more on the positive. The positive energy you create because of this draws positive energy form the people around you and the rest of the universe focus more on the positive. The positive energy you create because of this, draws positive energy from the people around you and the rest of the universe.

  Visualization of goals can help: visualizing means putting an important of what you want to achieve in your mind. Draw the dream house your want to buy or cut out a photo of your dream car . crate your own “inspiration board” to help your mind power. Put different photos of your dreams on a corkboard and put this board in a place where you can always see it. Visualizing also means think it of all the different ways with which you can solve problems and achieve your dreams.

 

3.       Don’t be prisoner of your environment of situation: just because you can’t afford to go to college or university doesn’t mean you can’t climb up the corporate ladder or get a good job. Let your mind power release you from the bonds of your environment or situation. Think beyond where you are and be confident in what you can do. Your mind power can reach much further than any constraints brought about by economic health or social situations.

 

4.      Believe and you shall receive: Lord himself said that whatever you want , when you ask for in prayer, believe that you have already received it. And then it will be yours. Imagine where to put your library of books in your dream house or write down the countries you want to travel to. These can eke the image of your dreams stronger via mind power.

5.Repeat your dreams and goals to yourself over and over; just as your muscle get stronger if you exercise regularly your mind power learns and strengthens through repetition . Tell yourself over and over that you deserve that promotion or write down your dreams repetitively in your journal. This helps bring success and happiness a step closer . your goals don’t have to be unreachable dreams. Our mind is where our thoughts emanate from . so mind is the master. The great Rishis of yore had analyzed and concluded that change for the better can be brought about only by a change of the mood of the mind. If that is changed, then changes in one’s lifestyle, attitude to things, behavior and quality of thoughts also follow suits. This change has to be brought about at three levels-the quality of thoughts, the quality of thoughts and direction of thoughts change; we can confidently say that the mind ahs changed. When the mind is changed, we are changed. When we change, everything about us become new. We don’t have to wait for the first of January. The day we change, it is new beginning for us. We are the master of our life.

In the same way, we must learn that Time as such is ever pure , ever new , never old . Now-a-days , the trend is to say I don’t know what kind of a time this is, a very sad time .Every where around the world there are wars, destruction…. “if we examine the carefully , we realize that we, the humans who have committed these atrocities. Who is blame? Is it Time? Has time killed anybody? Time never did it. It is ‘We” the people on Earth, prompted by our false values of hatred. Jealousy, greed, passions, and lust , act in the world . the quality of these very actions is our contributions to Time making or marring it.

What we need is courage to change and renew ourselves. If the courage to change is absent no progress is possible. What is wanted is a renewal of attitude. This can be attained through devotion to the Lord, which can bring a sea change in one’s thoughts. When we are in a good company of quiet and serene-minded people, our thoughts can seldom go astray. We don’t even indulge in vices, entertain mean thoughts. when each individual changes thus , the world outside is also effectively changed. Courtesy wisdom

Man has freedom already, but he will have to discover it. He has it, but every moment forgets it. That discovering consciously or unconsciously is the whole life of every one. But the difference between the sage and the ignorant man is that one does it consciously and the other unconsciously. Every one is struggling for freedom-from the atom to the star. The ignorant man is satisfied is he can get freedom within a certain limit-if he can get rid of the bondage of hunger or of being thirsty. But that sage feels that there is a stronger bondage which has to be thrown off. He would not consider the freedom of the Red Indian as freedom at all.,

According to our philosophers, freedom is the goal. Knowledge cannot be the goal, because knowledge is a compound. It is a compound of poer and freedom . and it is freedom alone that is desirable. That is what men struggle after . simply the possession of power would not be knowledge. For instance, a scientist can send some water on fire to a distance, but nature can sent it to an unlimited distance. Why do we not build statues to nature then? It is not law that we want but ability to reach law. We want to be outlaws. If you are bound by laws, you will be a lump of clay. Whether you are beyond law or not is not the question; but the thought that we are beyond law-upon that is based that whole history of humanity. For instance, a man lies in a forces, and ever ahs had any education or knowledge. He sees a stone falling down- a natural phenomenon happening-and –he thins is it freedom he thinks it has a soul, and the central idea in that is freedom. But as soon as he knows that it must fall, he calls it nature-dead, mechanical action. I may or may not go into the street. In that is my glory as a man. If I am sure that I must go there. I give myself up and become a machine. Nature with its finite power is only a machine; freedom alone constitutes sentient life.

I drive joy There was a doctor in Benaras who spent 7 minutes in the morning and evening for mediation on God. Knowing this, his colleagues and friends laughed at him. One day they argued that he was wasting ten precious minutes on something, which he had been misled into believing. The doctor replied, “Well, if God does not exist, I agree that I am wasting ten minutes a day. But if He exists? I am afraid you are wasting your entire lifetime. I prefer to waste ten minutes rather than a lifetime. Why should you grudge me the 10 minutes joy that I derive 4m.
